Abstract

In learning English, the students often make some problems while building a recount text. One of the problems causing it is that the teacher might use the old teaching method. This research aimed to observe the effect of grammar-focused writing instruction on the tenth-grade students' writing recount text at one of the Senior High School State at Kabupaten Tangerang. The research method used in this research was a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design by using a non-equivalent control group design. The population of this research was 460 tenth grade students. The sample of this research was taken from two classes that were chosen by using Simple Random Sampling. There were X IPS 4 as the controlled class and X IPS 5 as the experimental class. The normality test result showed that the data is normally distributed, and the homogeneity test result showed that the variants belong to a homogeneous population. The analysis results of post-test by using t-test (The Pooled Variance Model T-test) were obtained data that t-count = 4,37 and t-table = 1,99 with significant level ɑ = 5% or 0,05. From the post-test calculation result, H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of students’ writing recount text between students in the experimental class who were taught by using grammar-focused writing instruction and students in the controlled class who were taught by using the conventional method.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa dan meningkatkan hasil belajar PKn materi ancaman terhadap negara dalam bingkai bhineka tunggal ika pada siswa kelas XI di SMK Ekasakti Jakarta dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran Problem Based Learning atau pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan desain model penelitian menggunakan menelitian model Kurt Lewin dengan proses planning, acting, observating and reflecting yang selanjutnya penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan terdiri dari pra siklus, siklus I dan siklus II. Bedasarkan teknik pengambilan data melalui lembar observasi proses belajar siswa, proses mengajar guru, lembar refleksi dan soal problem based learning penelitian ini menghasilkan data Nilai rata-rata kelas pada pra siklus sebesar 64,00 meningkat pada siklus I menjadi 69,00, dan meningkat lagi pada siklus II menjadi 76,00. Sedangkan siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar siswa pada pra siklus sebesar 40 % meningkat pada siklus I menjadi 55 % dan meningkat lagi pada siklus II menjadi 90 %. Berdasarkan data diatas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajran problem based learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar PKn materi ancaman terhadap negara dalam bingkai bhineka tunggal ika pada siswa kelas XI di SMK Ekasakti Jakarta

Abstract

This research aims to explain innovative approaches in character building of students through the development of the local content curriculum of Aswaja (Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah) at SMK Al-Falah Nagreg. The local content of Aswaja is an essential component in Islamic education that aims to integrate Islamic values and teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah into the school curriculum. This study focuses on how the development of the Aswaja local content curriculum can be an effective tool in shaping students' character. The research method used is qualitative analytical research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results show that innovation in developing the Aswaja local content curriculum can significantly contribute to shaping students' character. Some important findings include: the integration of Islamic values, the development of spirituality, the formation of Islamic identity, the strengthening of tolerance and harmony, and community participation. This curriculum also encourages students' participation in social and community activities oriented towards Aswaja values. This research illustrates the importance of innovation in developing the Aswaja local content curriculum as an effective means in shaping students' character. These results have positive implications for improving the quality of Islamic education and forming a generation with noble character and responsibility in society.

Abstract

The application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology is currently increasingly widespread in various aspects of human life, both in agriculture, animal husbandry, education, and in various industries or other institutions. However, the problem that is often encountered is that the application of IoT technology is only limited to function without considering the effectiveness and efficiency of the sensors used in the technology. This also applies to the IoT-based system in the Greenhouse, one of the products developed by the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Mayasari Bakti University. Temperature plays an important role in the process of cultivating plants in a greenhouse, so the sensor must be calibrated accurately according to the size of the greenhouse. Often, the temperature sensor used in the greenhouse cannot reach the entire area so that anomalies occur in temperature monitoring which will ultimately affect the quality of the harvest.In this study, the temperature sensor is the main focus in the development of a large-scale greenhouse control system. This study uses an experimental research method that focuses on determining the causal relationship between the main object and related factors. The study was conducted in a greenhouse with an area of 5 x 6 meters. The results showed that the DHT22 sensor was more effective than the LM35 and DHT11 sensors. For comprehensive temperature monitoring in this greenhouse, 12 DHT22 sensors are required arranged in 4 rows and 3 columns for optimal coverage.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a security monitoring system for greenhouses using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system utilizes motion sensors to monitor activity, with the ESP32 Cam module implemented within the greenhouse. Data from the ESP32 Cam is processed using object detection algorithms to identify and track any objects entering the greenhouse.In the development of the moving object detection system, several approaches have been explored by previous researchers. One such approach involves the use of cameras to detect and track moving objects on UAVs using the segmentation method with edge-based dilation. Another study implemented a surveillance system using a webcam to detect motion and trigger an alarm to enhance security measures.This research leverages existing technologies in the areas of workflow and object recognition algorithms. These technologies are implemented in a relatively simple system capable of executing established algorithms. The primary objective is to focus on implementation that can enhance the Technology Readiness Level (TRL). The study successfully produced a security monitoring system that improves greenhouse security and assists in monitoring activities within the greenhouse. The system uses PIR (motion) sensors configured to trigger image capture by the camera and notify the ESP32 to send alerts via Telegram.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai karakter Islam kepada anak-anak TPA Babussalam Palembang melalui metode kisah Qurani (Qashashul Quran). Anak-anak usia dini cenderung lebih mudah menyerap nilai melalui pendekatan naratif yang menyentuh emosi dan imajinasi. Kisah para nabi dalam Al-Qur’an digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran karakter, seperti kejujuran (Nabi Yusuf), kesabaran (Nabi Ayyub), dan tolong-menolong (kisah Ashabul Kahfi). Metode yang digunakan pada saat kegiatan ini meliputi : Storytelling interaktif oleh pemateri, tanya jawab dan diskusi nilai dari kisah, aktivitas menggambar kisah dan game edukatif berbasis nilai dari kisah yang sudah diceritakan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan dari Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Kisah Qurani (Qashashul Quran) diperoleh hasil yang sangat baik dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dari kisah-kisah nabi di dalam Al-Qur’an merupakan kegiatan yang positif dan harus dijadikan sebagai kegiatan berkelanjutan untuk anak-anak di TPA Babussalam.

Abstract

English language skills are very important to face future challenges. In situations like this, using video media as a teaching method can be an interesting innovation for teaching children to recognize English vocabulary. This research aims to explore the role of YouTube media in creating a more interactive learning experience and teachers also benefit from YouTube media because YouTube can help teachers explain vocabulary lessons in class, especially in jitjongrak schools, and to increase students' understanding and motivation. This research uses qualitative methods. Researchers will look at the activities of teachers at this school in introducing English vocabulary using animated video media on the YouTube application in learning and describing the problem under study in the real situation by making observations, with the data analysis used, namely descriptive data analysis. The results of the study stated that the English vocabulary ability score of respondents, namely children aged 4-6 years at Jitjongkrak Krabi School, Thailand, who learned English using YouTube media, had an average of 88%, categorized as very good. The existence of YouTube proves that this media can be used as a medium to introduce English vocabulary to children, as evidenced by the average score of YouTube utilization of 62, categorized as good.

Abstract

Speaking skill is essential in English language learning but remains challenging for primary school learners, especially in multicultural and multilingual contexts. This qualitative descriptive study explores an English teacher’s perspective on the use of audiovisual media to enhance speaking skills at a primary school in Southern Thailand. Data were collected through online semi-structured interviews and analyzed using a rigorous thematic analysis process involving open, axial, and selective coding, validated by peer debriefing. Findings indicate that authentic audiovisual materials promote interactive and contextual learning, improve vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence structure, and increase student confidence and participation. The study addresses a significant research gap in audiovisual media use in young learners within under-researched multilingual settings, offering novel insights into effective teaching strategies and multimedia scaffolding theories. This research provides practical implications for educators aiming to integrate technology to improve speaking proficiency.

Abstract
