Abstract

Abstract: The production of tempeh in Indonesia, particularly in SMEs located at Jalan Raya Sepande No.45 Sidoarjo, still faces challenges in the manual fermentation process, especially during unstable weather conditions. Suboptimal fermentation can lead to a decline in production quality. This community service activity aims to improve the quality and capacity of tempeh production through technological innovation. The method used is a participatory approach involving training, mentoring, and discussions between the proposing team and partners. The resulting solution includes the application of appropriate technology, such as a fermentation room equipped with temperature and humidity control, as well as improvements in packaging and digital marketing. The results of this activity show an increase in production quality and quantity, income, and the human resource capacity of the partners. The conclusion of this activity is that the participatory approach and technological innovation can significantly enhance production efficiency and partner welfare.

Abstract

Through the Cooperative Learning type Group Investigation (CL-GI), this study seeks to improve students' communication abilities. The beginning ability was taken into account as a moderator variable in this quasi-experimental investigation, which was carried out using a 2x2 factorial design. The study's participants were LVE 1 and 2 students in the 10th grade at Vocational High School (VHS) YPM 8 Sidoarjo. After performing several preliminary tests, such as normality and homogeneity tests, a two-way ANOVA was used to analyze the data. Numerous inferences can be made in light of the findings and debate. First off, kids who learnt with CL-GI had much better communication abilities than those who learned with DI. Second, students with strong initial abilities had much better communication skills than students with poor initial abilities. Thirdly, there was no discernible connection between the learning model and students' starting points in terms of communication abilities in the basics of automotive engineering.

Abstract

Daun Efek is a Small Medium Enterprises in Sidoarjo which is engaged in the production of eco-print batik cloth. In making eco-print batik, UKM Daun Efek still uses conventional methods, thus causing the limited amount of production produced. Other constraints faced are the lack of attractive product packaging and lack of widespread marketing, so that turnover is difficult to increase due to lack of consumer reach. This activity uses an implementation method through a participatory approach, including such as FGDs, training and mentoring as well as discussion activities to exchange experiences between the proposing team and partners. From the implementation method that implemented, a grant machine was produced in the form of an eco-print batik steamer machine, which is able to increase the amount of production from 6 sheets of batik cloth per day to 18 pieces of batik cloth per day. In addition to production management, there was also improved the quality of product packaging from simple and unattractive to a packaging that has good, creative, and imprinted elements in the eyes of consumers through green box-shaped packaging with the partner logo. The reach of consumers has become wider with the marketing through social media.

Abstract

Presto food is one of the favorite foods of Indonesians. Some of the favorite types of presto food are grilled chicken, presto duck, fish pepes, and presto milkfish. Sidoarjo Regency is one of the regions in East Java that has an area of 15,530 hectares of ponds that produce abundant milkfish of approximately 9,866,300 tons. This is a factor in the emergence of MSMEs engaged in the culinary sector, one of which is UKM Presto Sidoarjo. Limited production equipment causes the production process to be inefficient in terms of time and fuel. Marketing that has not been widespread and product packaging that is less attractive is a factor in the product being less known to the public. The implementation method is carried out through a participatory approach, training and mentoring, as well as discussion activities between the proposing team and partners. The result of this activity is the creation of an automatic presto machine that is able to increase production capacity from 5 kg per process to 10 kg per process and the formation of partners who are independent in using the machine and increasing sales turnover through marketing on social media and product packaging that has good, creative elements, imprints on consumers and labels.

Abstract

The renewable energy system (RES) has recently become hot topic due to its unlimited, green energy potential, and the maturity of its technology. A solar charging controller (SCC) is required to regulate parameters for the battery and is an essential component for sustainable and renewable energy usage. An SCC based on a DC-DC Buck converter with cascaded proportional-integral (PI) controller is used in the system for managing the current and voltage loops, thereby preventing battery overcharging. The control parameters are determined using the Ziegler-Nichols method based on the reaction curve. A first -order system is employed due to the open-loop responses show no overshoot and oscillations. MATLAB software is used for both simulation and controller design. Simulations are conducted to validate the proposed SCC with the cascaded controller. Variations in the state of charge (SoC) are presented in two cases: without and with the controller. The SoC is set 20%, 50%, and 95%. A high SoC percentage indicates that the battery is near the full capacity, whereas a low percentage indicates that battery is near empty. Using the cascaded controller, both current and voltage responses at different SoC levels demonstrate satisfactory performance, including rapid transient responses, minimal overshoot, small ripples, and robustness.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of science and technology has transformed education, necessitating effective digital learning tools like Google Classroom, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. While previous studies have explored its general educational benefits, its specific effec-tiveness in vocational technical education—particularly for Entrepre-neurship courses in engineering programs—remains under-researched. This study addresses that gap by quantitatively assessing Google Class-room’s impact on 45 D4 Mechanical Engineering students at Universi-tas Negeri Surabaya. Results show that 44% of respondents strongly agree on the platform’s usability and flexibility, while 50% confirm its role in enhancing comprehension, assignment completion, and academ-ic performance in Entrepreneurship. Statistical analysis further validates these findings, with a significant t-test result (t-count = 2.365 > t-table = 2.025) demonstrating improved learning outcomes. By providing empir-ical evidence of Google Classroom’s efficacy in a vocational engineer-ing context, this study contributes novel insights to digital pedagogy literature. The findings advocate for the platform’s broader adoption in technical higher education, supporting optimized digital learning strate-gies in the industry 4.0 era.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the improvement of cognitive and psy-chomotor abilities by integrating ACS (Automotive Circuit Simulation) in learning about vehicle body electrical systems. This research is quan-titative research with a quasi-experimental design with two groups, namely an experimental group and a control group. The data collected was analyzed using quantitative descriptive. The results of this research indicate that there are differences in prior knowledge and the acquisi-tion of practical skills among students who utilize ACS media as a learning tool for vehicle body electrical systems. Recommendations from this research include further integrating ACS into the curriculum, increasing the availability of digital learning resources, and providing additional training for educators to optimize the potential for inde-pendent and interactive learning for students through simulation. Thus, this article proposes an innovative solution to effectively support the development of students' knowledge and skills in the field of vehicle body electrical systems.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of learning media and mathematical logic intelligence on student learning achievement. This research was a quasi-experimental type with a sample size of 68 students consisting of an experimental class and a control class of 34 students each. The data analysis method uses two-way Anova. The results of this study indicate that there are (1) differences in learning achievement between students who study using YouTube compared to e-books; (2) differences in learning achievement between students with high versus low mathematical logical intelligence; and (3) the interaction between learning media and mathematical logic intelligence on student learning achievement.
