Abstract

The questioning skill ability is essential for students to promote science learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze students' questioning skills towards cognitive science learning outcomes. There are two students' questioning skills studied, namely factual questions and amazement. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Observations of questioning skills are observed based on four group categories, namely factual, amazement, both questions and no questions. The results of the study showed that students who actively asked questions, especially factual and amazement types of questions, had higher cognitive learning outcomes than students who did not ask questions. The group of students with factual questions and asking both questions experienced a significant increase in learning outcome scores, while the group of students who did not ask questions and students who were only surprised experienced a small increase. Based on the learning outcome scores of students in the four question groups, it is important for students to ask a lot of questions in order to increase the achievement of cognitive science learning outcomes. This study indicates that students' questioning skills are related to student learning outcomes. The more active students ask questions, and the more varied the types of questions asked, the greater the increase in student learning outcomes. The many variations of questions asked by students are the key to deepening understanding. Students can improve their learning outcomes in a deeper and more meaningful learning process by asking many questions. This study reinforces the importance of the teacher's role in encouraging students to ask more questions during the learning process by providing appropriate motivation and treatment.

Abstract

Motivation plays a crucial role in the integrated science learning process. Low learning motivation is often not due to limited ability but rather to a lack of encouragement. In integrated science learning, the human digestive system presents complex material that is difficult to visualize, resulting in decreased student learning motivation. This research aims to develop the Uno Dare Card learning media, which is feasible (valid, practical, and effective), to enhance students' learning motivation in the human digestive system material. The research method employed the ADDIE development model with 29 eighth-grade students from class VIII I of SMP Negeri 1 Martapura Kota as research subjects. The instruments used to collect data included test and non-test instruments. The research results show that the Uno Dare Card learning media is highly valid across content, presentation, language, and media feasibility, with an overall score of 0.943 in the highly valid category. The Uno Dare Card is also highly practical, and the Uno Dare Card learning media has been proven effective in enhancing learning motivation, with N-gain values in the high category. The Uno Dare Card learning media is valid, practical, and effective for teaching material on the human digestive system and for enhancing students' motivation to learn.

Abstract

In response to the growing need for innovative and technology-integrated instructional strategies in science education. This study aims to analyze the effect of using the Canva application-based audiovisual learning media on the science learning outcomes of seventh-grade students on the material of changes in the state of matter. The method applied is a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The population includes all seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin. Through convenience sampling, a research sample of 60 people was obtained: 30 in class VII D (control) and 30 in class VII E (experimental). Data were collected through a validated, reliable learning outcome test. The data analysis techniques used in this study include calculating averages and standard deviations, performing normality and homogeneity tests, and conducting hypothesis tests. Hypothesis testing in this study was conducted using ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariance). The results of the hypothesis test showed a Sig. value of 0.001 <0.05, with an effect size of 0.171, which is classified as a small category. Therefore, the decision was made to reject H0 and accept H1. The conclusion of this study is that the use of audiovisual learning media in the Canva application affects the science learning outcomes of grade VII students on the material on changes in state of matter.
