Abstract

This study aims to develop learning set in the Integral calculus in the form of instructional design or study the concept of the volume of an Integral calculus rotating object that has a potential effect in improving student creative thinking skills based on model submission and problem-solving. The study used the Borg and Gall model development research with the stages of the development of learning design ranging from analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study used the subject of 34 students of the University of Mathematics Education Study Program Hamzanwadi, which programmed the Integral calculus course consisting of 6 males and 28 females. Data collection using product guidelines or product validation sheets, product practices, and posttests to measure practicality and potential effects product. From the results of the data analysis, instructional design is drafted and designed based on the filing and problem-solving model of products that meet the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of products and feasible to implement. The product developed is also a potential in enhancing the students' creative thinking skills with a N-Gain of 0.73.

Abstract

This study aims to determine student perceptions of the effectiveness of communication and collaboration in online learning mathematics during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study was an ex-post-facto with an exploratory, descriptive approach. The sample of this study was 26 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at the Universitas Hamzanwadi. The respondents of this study were 26 students of Mathematics Education at Hamzanwadi University, five males and 21 females, which were obtained using the convenience sampling technique. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The instrument used is a closed questionnaire with answers that are degraded according to the Likert scale and validated by experts. The research data were analyzed descriptively and inferential statistics. The results showed that (1) the perception of mathematics education students was 58% of students giving a negative response to every question about the effectiveness of communication and collaboration in online learning; (2) ineffective communication and collaboration in online learning with an average student perception score of 2.16; (3) there is a positive and significant relationship between communication and collaboration in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic with a significance value of 0.000 which is smaller than the alpha test value of 0.05 (0.05); (4) the relationship of communication and correlation in online learning is strong or high with a correlation coefficient value of 0.677.

Abstract

Geometry is one of the essential materials for students. However, geometry material, especially the concept of geometry, still needs to be made more accessible for students. Models and media are needed, and the proper context in learning mathematics in geometric material. Therefore, this research aims to develop valid, practical, and effective learning using the Collaborative Based Inquiry learning model based on local wisdom to improve students' metacognitive abilities. This study is Research and Development (R & D). There were five stages in this study: to analyze the developed product, develop the initial product, expert validation and revision, small-scale field trials and product revisions, and large-scale field trials and final products. Based on the results of the study obtained, several research conclusions, including that the learning device was valid. From the limited test, the results of the five ability test questions were obtained metacognitive is also valid and reliable. Developed learning plans as well practicals from the side of teachers and students. Moreover, the average value of students' metacognitive abilities in the experimental class is classified as effective to increase students' metacognitive abilities. That way, learning mathematics design with Collaborative Based Inquiry based on local wisdom can improve students' metacognitive abilities.

Abstract

Mathematics is often seen as a complex subject by most students. This has caused their achievement and motivation to be low. This study aims to see whether there is a direct or indirect influence from the independent and intervening variables on the dependent variables. This research is quantitative. The population is grade VIII of one of state junior high school, and the sample is class 8-B which consists of 28 students. The instruments used in data collection were questionnaires and tests. Data were analyzed using path analysis with the help of the Amos 25.0 program. The research result is that the P-value is 0.17<0.05. There is a direct effect of the learning approach on motivation; the P-value is 0.049<0.05. Peer interaction immediately affects achievement; the P-value is 0.035<0.05. There is a direct effect of the learning models on achievement; the P-value is 0.088>0.05. There is no direct effect of peer interaction on achievement; the P-value of 0.023<0.05 has a direct impact on motivation on achievement, the P-value of 0.444>0.05 motivation cannot mediate peer interaction on achievement, and a P-value of 0.024<0.05 with the conclusion that there is an indirect effect between learning model on achievement through motivation.
