Abstract

This study aims to analyze language errors in students’ essays in the digital era using a literature study method. The data sources were obtained from various research articles and academic publications published between 2020 and 2025. The results show that the most common language errors occur in aspects of spelling, morphology, syntax, and semantics. These errors are generally caused by students’ low mastery of Indonesian grammar rules and the influence of digital culture, which encourages the habitual use of informal language in writing. The development of digital technology, on the one hand, provides opportunities for students to easily access learning resources but, on the other hand, presents new challenges for maintaining linguistic accuracy. Therefore, an adaptive Indonesian language learning strategy is required—one that balances digital literacy and proper language use. This study is expected to contribute to improving the effectiveness of writing instruction and fostering students’ awareness of the importance of using correct and standard Indonesian in the modern digital era.

Abstract

The Indonesian language plays an essential role in shaping students’ logical, critical, and scientific thinking skills. However, the rapid growth of technology and social media has led to the widespread use of slang among students, which may reduce their awareness of using formal language in academic contexts. This study employs a literature review method to examine the role of the Indonesian Language course in preventing the negative influence of slang on students’ formal language proficiency. The findings reveal that the course serves as a medium for developing academic ethics, sociolinguistic awareness, and intellectual identity. Through digital literacy–based learning and contextual language understanding, students are expected to use language appropriately according to context, thereby maintaining linguistic values and national identity in the globalization era.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the cultural foundations of Muhammadiyah from the perspective of Progressive Islam (Islam Berkemajuan) through a library research approach. The study was conducted by examining scholarly literature published within the last ten years related to the cultural dynamics within the Muhammadiyah movement. The findings indicate that Muhammadiyah’s cultural foundation is an integral part of the purification and modernization processes that have been in place since the era of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan. The main findings reveal that the dialectic between normative theology and local culture has shaped a movement characterized by rationality, ethical values, and progressive orientation. Progressive Islam strengthens this dialectical pattern through three core principles: religious rationality, universal human ethics, and practical social engagement. This study fills a gap in previous research, which has not comprehensively examined the relationship between theology and culture within the framework of Progressive Islam. The implications of this article demonstrate that Muhammadiyah’s cultural foundation serves as an epistemological basis for developing an Islamic paradigm that is inclusive, moderate, and oriented toward civilizational advancement.

Abstract

Abstract

This article examines religious moderation (wasatiyyah) within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia through a phenomenological analytical framework. Using qualitative research methodology, this study explores the lived experiences, socio-cultural practices, and engagement with classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning) that constitute religious moderation in pesantren environments. Drawing from in-depth interviews with 45 participants including pesantren leaders, educators (ustadz), and santri (students) across six pesantren institutions in East Java and Southeast Sulawesi, the research identifies three interconnected dimensions of religious moderation: theological foundations grounded in Qur'anic principles of wasatiyyah, socio-cultural practices manifesting tolerance and intercultural harmony, and pedagogical methods integrating classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary concerns. The findings demonstrate that religious moderation in pesantren operates as a comprehensive framework encompassing spiritual discipline, social ethics, and intellectual engagement, functioning simultaneously as a theological orientation, institutional practice, and educational outcome. The research contributes to contemporary discourse on Islamic education by providing evidence-based analysis of how traditional Islamic institutions operationalize moderation in pluralistic contexts, with implications for understanding pesantren's role in promoting social cohesion within Indonesia's diverse society.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Islamic family law within Indonesia's national legal framework through the lens of Pancasila's justice values in religious court administration. As Indonesia's largest judicial institution handling Islamic family matters, religious courts face significant challenges in harmonizing Islamic legal principles with the constitutional foundation of Pancasila. Employing a quantitative research methodology, this study surveyed 284 stakeholders including religious court judges, legal practitioners, policymakers, and legal scholars across multiple jurisdictions to assess perceptions of Pancasila justice value implementation, institutional effectiveness, and integration challenges. Data were collected through structured questionnaires measuring five dimensions: understanding of Pancasila justice values, integration effectiveness, administrative performance, stakeholder satisfaction, and systemic challenges. Statistical analyses including descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and correlation analyses revealed significant findings. Results indicate that 78.5% of respondents demonstrate high understanding of Pancasila values, yet only 64.2% perceive effective integration in court practices. Religious courts achieved a 96.45% case clearance rate in 2023, processing 603,512 cases, though substantial challenges persist in harmonizing religious and state law (71.8% agreement). The study concludes that while structural frameworks exist for integration, substantive implementation requires enhanced judicial capacity, clearer legislative guidelines, and stronger institutional mechanisms to realize Pancasila's justice principles within Islamic family law adjudication
