Abstract

The process of selecting a university is complicated, impacted by a plethora of factors that shape students' decisions. The role of proximity, defined as the geographic distance between a student's place of residence and the location of the university, is important among these drivers. The purpose of this study is to give a case study that looks into the complex function of proximity in students' institution selection decisions. The study investigates how proximity influences several components of the university choosing process using a broad sample of students. The research combines surveys and interviews to provide both quantitative and qualitative insights into the interaction of factors influencing university choice, with a focus on proximity. The findings show that proximity has a significant impact on students' decisions, influencing convenience, housing expenses, family and community links, local employment options, sense of belonging, and overall cost concerns. This study contributes to a better understanding of the complex and dynamic elements that influence university selection and provides significant insights for universities and policymakers looking to better meet the requirements and expectations of prospective students.

Abstract

Technology, particularly communication and information technology, is essential for everyone. As this technology advances, competition among cell phone manufacturers becomes more intense. This is the primary reason that mobile manufacturing companies compete to innovate in order to create mobile products that will catch the attention of market consumers. Cell phones appear to be a basic human requirement. But there is a new irony for Indonesia. Despite a 1.05% increase in population, the smartphone market in Indonesia fell by 11.9% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same quarter in 2022. The goal of this study is to determine which factors influence purchase intentions and which factors are the most likely cause of a decrease in purchasing intentions. The study's findings show that the four independent variables, product quality, brand image, brand prestige, and brand trust, all have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. If there is a decrease in purchase intention, it is reasonable to suspect that the cause is the smallest value, which is far below the other three independent variables. Plagiarism Check

Abstract

Nowadays, marketing strategies that leverage personal branding and social media significantly shape customer behavior in several industries. The effects on the Jakarta-based TikTok user market for Indonesian Grilled Sambal goods are the primary subject of this research. For this study, we used Google Forms to poll people who met certain age, TikTok, and Iben Ma familiarity/product/influencer requirements. Perceptions of personal branding and social media marketing were examined using descriptive statistics, focusing on how they affected purchase intention. The results showed that the target audience had favorable impressions and a strong propensity to buy, and the study used traditional assumption testing to validate a regression model. The results show how much of an impact these characteristics have on buying habits. The study highlights the revolutionary impact of social media marketing on influencing customer behavior and brand perceptions, drawing from theories such as Social Identity Theory and the Elaboration Likelihood Model of Persuasion. With these findings in hand, marketers targeting specific food niches can improve their social media engagement with customers. The paper goes on to say that more research into the relationship between niche market customer behavior, personal branding, and social media should be pursued.

Abstract

Agency theory states that fraudulent financial reporting involves deliberate actions that misrepresent financial data, often driven by conflicting interests between agents and principals. On the other hand, the GONE theory attributes fraud to greed, opportunity, needs, and exposure. This study investigates the influence of the fraud hexagon on the likelihood of fraudulent financial reporting, with audit quality as a moderating factor. Therefore, the authors purposively selected 40 industrial sector companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2020 to 2022, ending with 120 observations as the sample. Data analysis with pooling tests and MRA tests reveals that total asset accrual and holding multiple positions contribute to the potential for fraudulent financial reporting. However, financial targets, CEO education, engagement in government projects, and industry nature exhibit no significant impact. Additionally, the moderating effect of audit quality fails to mitigate the positive influence of financial targets and industry nature on fraudulent financial reporting potential. Future research can employ logistic regression and incorporate additional independent variables.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and modernization, the growth of internet users in Indonesia reflects significant changes in people's lifestyles, including their beauty and skin care needs. Skincare has become an essential part of the beauty routine, heavily influenced by societal perceptions of beauty. This research focuses on Scarlett Whitening, a local beauty brand, which experienced a decline in sales starting in July 2023. The method used in this research is a causal method with structural equation modeling (SEM). This study aims to investigate the impact of electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) and brand ambassadors on purchase intentions. The results show that while brand ambassadors do not significantly influence purchase intention, e-WOM does. Furthermore, brand image acts as a mediator between e-WOM and purchase intention, but does not mediate the influence of brand ambassadors.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of communication strategies in enhancing community fund collection in RW 006, Kelurahan Cipinang Cempedak, East Jakarta, through the lens of Social Capital Theory and Communication Theory. By addressing socio-economic disparities and digital literacy issues, the research aims to provide actionable insights for local authorities. A mixed-method approach, combining qualitative interviews with Neighborhood Association leaders and residents, as well as observations of community meetings, was employed. The analysis reveals that a hybrid communication strategy, integrating traditional meetings and digital platforms like WhatsApp, significantly enhances community engagement and fund collection. However, digital literacy and socio-economic disparities present significant barriers. Transparent reporting and regular updates are essential for building trust and encouraging participation. The findings underscore the importance of inclusive communication strategies that address both digital literacy and socio-economic challenges, thereby fostering community participation and optimizing fund collection efforts in urban neighborhoods.
