Abstract

Tulisan ini menempatkan Helen dan Sukanta sebagai teks bergenre perjalanan. Sepintas lalu narasi novel Pidi Baiq ini seperti memusat pada kisah sejoli dari senjakala kolonialisme Hindia Belanda. Helen, seorang perempuan keturunan Belanda yang lahir dan tumbuh di sebuah kawasan perkebunan di pedalaman Ciwidey, Bogor jatuh hati pada Sukanta. Kisah asmara mereka kandas lantaran perbedaan rasial. Tragedi itu sendiri diceritakan oleh protagonis kepada narator utama novel yang kebetulan tengah melawat ke Belanda. Oleh sebab itu, kisah Helen tersebut sangat bergantung pada bagaimana sikap dan posisi narator novel untuk merespon dan merepresentasikan kenangan protagonis. Dalam penelitian ini novel Baiq dikaji sebagai representasi sastra perjalanan. Sebuah catatan yang bersumber pada aktivitas perjalanan bagi Carl Thompson mengemukakan beberapa pokok penting, yakni informasi atau keadaan riil belahan dunia lain (reporting the world), sikap pribadi seorang (revealing the self), dan respon terhadap orang asing (respresenting the other) yang notabene berbeda budaya. Secara umum penggambaran novel menempatkan narator sebagai pelancong merupakan diri (self) yang secara aktif bersikap sehingga menentukan jalan cerita dalam Helen dan Sukanta.

Abstract

Meskipun Marah Roesli menempatkan perempuan sebagai sorot utama karya gubahannya, namun tampilan judul roman belum cukup sugestif untuk memuaskan horison harapan pembaca berlensa feminis mengenai kode-kode gender dalam Sitti Nurbaya (1920). Sebaliknya, keberadaan protagonis perempuan dalam roman justru tampak problematis. Pertama, Sitti Nurbaya tidak dilihat dari kacamata seorang perempuan (pengarangnya laki-laki). Kedua, protagonis perempuan justru ditempatkan sebagai gravitasi konflik maskulin yang menyebabkan Samsulbahri dan Datuk Meringgih berseteru. Tulisan ini mengetengahkan pelbagai citra feminitas yang dinarasikan melalui tokoh-tokoh feminin dalam roman Marah Roesli. Tidak hanya berfokus pada sosok Sitti Nurbaya, sosok seperti Putri Rabiah, Sitti Fatimah, dan Sitti Alimah justru menawarkan citra keperempuanan yang lebih menarik dan mengesankan. Putri Rabiah mewakili gambaran perempuan Minangkabau yang diberkati kultur matrilinel yang menempatkan perempuan sebagai poros sosial, ekonomi, budaya Minangkabau. Sedangkan Sitti Fatimah dan Sitti Alimah merepresentasikan citra kosmopolit dan radikal dari lingkungan keluarga saudagar Melayu di awal kemodernan Melayu.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan baru bagi calon guru serta melatih keterampilan calon guru dalam menyelesaikan soal berbasis literasi numerasi bernuansa nilai keislaman. Metode yang digunakan adalah PAR (Participatory Action Research) dengan 3 tahapan: Persiapan, Pelaksanaan, dan Evaluasi. Data diperoleh dari Pre-test dan Post-test. Data diperoleh dari hasil pre-test dan post-test kemudian diuji perbedaan dua rata-ratanya dengan menggunakan SPSS. Diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre-test 65,05 sedangkan rata-rata post-test 81,05. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari calon guru dalam membuat soal literasi-numerasi serta pelaksanaan pelatihan pembuatan soal berbasis literasi numerasi bernuansa islami terlaksana dengan baik dan mendapatkan respon yang positif.Kata kunci: Pelatihan, Literasi, Numerasi, Nilai Keislaman

Abstract

This article examines how Entrok, a novel by Okky Madasari, portrays the oppressive realities of polygamy and patriarchal domination within Indonesia’s socio-political landscape, especially during the New Order regime. Using feminist literary criticism as the main theoretical framework, supported by a Marxist view on economic power, this study explores how literature critically reflects women’s lived experiences under systemic gender inequality. While previous studies have discussed gender bias and resistance in Entrok, few have examined polygamy as a tool of patriarchy or analysed how resistance strategies vary across women’s social and educational positions. The analysis reveals a clear contrast in how female characters respond to polygamy and patriarchal structures. Yu Yem, Yu Parti, Endang Sulastri, and Marni, who represent uneducated women, not only reject and do not tolerate polygamy but also actively resist it by building economic independence, thus asserting their agency and autonomy. Their refusal becomes a form of open defiance against patriarchal expectations. Conversely, Rahayu, an educated woman, accepts her position as a second wife under religious justification, internalising patriarchal norms despite experiencing profound psychological distress. These representations demonstrate how both class and ideology influence women's capacity and methods of resistance to gendered oppression. Framing Entrok within broader feminist and socio-political discourse, this study affirms the novel’s role as a critique of patriarchal injustice. It underscores how fiction can challenge ideological violence and support Sustainable Development Goal 5 on Gender Equality by imagining alternative possibilities for empowerment and resistance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of a Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with Caring Community in mathematics teaching materials on vectors at SMA Ibrahimy 2 Sukorejo, addressing students’ persistent difficulties in mathematical problem-solving due to conventional approaches that neglect affective dimensions. Using a sequential explanatory mixed methods design, the study involved 30 students in the experimental class and 31 in the control class. Data were collected through learning achievement tests and observation, then analyzed quantitatively (normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and normalized gain) and qualitatively (thematic analysis). Results show the experimental class’s mean post-test score (82.40) was significantly higher than the control class (68.50) (p = 0.000). Qualitative findings reveal that Caring Community fostered an empathetic, collaborative classroom climate that enhanced active participation and reduced math anxiety. The study concludes that the PBL Caring Community model effectively improves students’ mathematical abilities and aligns with the pesantren-based cultural context emphasizing solidarity and care.

Abstract

This article examines how Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie’s short story Kering constructs an alternative social world through the erasure of gender legibility, the centering of child characters, and the laundromat as a communal refuge. This study asks: (1) how the laundromat operates as a carnivalesque liminal chronotope; (2) how the collective first-person plural voice generates polyphony and shared child subjectivity; and (3) how voicelessness and bodily/identity anomalies mobilize grotesque realism to critique gendered structural violence. This research employs qualitative close reading supported by directed coding based on Bakhtinian carnivalesque theory (carnival “second life,” degradation/uncrowning, grotesque realism) and a gender-inclusive narrative perspective. Textual segments are coded across three analytic axes (space, voice, and body) then synthesized through interpretive content analysis. Kering stages the laundromat as a temporary egalitarian commons that suspends adult/patriarchal authority, enabling children’s communal life. The collective “we” voice distributes narrative agency across multiple child figures, producing polyphonic witnessing while weakening gender as a stable organizing category. Grotesque bodily imagery and motifs of voicelessness translate unspeakable harm into a material critique of structural violence, positioning gender erasure as a deliberate oppositional strategy rather than neutrality. The analysis focuses on a single short story; broader claims require comparative studies across contemporary Indonesian fiction and reader-reception research. The article integrates Bakhtinian carnivalesque, collective narration, and gender-inclusive reading to reframe children as modern subjects who contest normative gender and violence through form.
