Abstract

The The aims of this research is to find out the used types of politeness maxims and the function of most dominant type of politeness maxims used in English classroom interaction during the learning process. The reason why the researcher did this research because the research wanted to provide more sources or references about the types of politeness maxims and the function of most dominant type of politeness maxim that was hopefully be useful for the institution where the researcher study, for other students, other researchers, or readers in general. This research used descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative method is intended to describe everything related to the type of politeness maxims in classroom interaction.  There were three videos which used as a source of data.  Those videos showed the activity of the learning process in the classroom interactions.  In collecting the data, the researcher would transcribe the videos into written data accurately and classify the data based on types of politeness maxim in order the data would be easily in identified and analyzed.  After all the data collected, the researcher analyzed the data and drawed the conclusion. The results of this research can be seen as follows: (1) There were 96 data  of politeness maxim appeared in 3 of videos, which consist of 68 data of tact maxim, 14 data of approbation maxim, 10 data of agreement maxim, 2 data of sympathy maxim, 1 data of generosity maxim and 1 data of modesty maxim. (2) Based on the research, tact maxim was the dominant type and the function that can be concluded for several function as declarative, interrogative, imperative and apology function that appeared during the learning process to espouse the spirit of students with the  factor of context of situation and participant.

Abstract

This research aimed at knowing the students' perception towards English E-Learning during Covid-19 pandemic at SMA N 1 Monta. This research generally answered two questions as follows: (1) What are students’ perceptions towards English E-Learning during Covid-19 pandemic? (2) How are students’ motivation towards English E-Learning during Covid-19 pandemic? The data was collected through a questionnaire and interviews. There were 31 students of MIPA-2 in eleventh graders at SMA N 1 Monta participated in this research. Since this research explored the students' perception and motivation which coming from the students' experiences during Covid-19 pandemic, descriptive research by using qualitative techniques was considered as an appropriate approach as a type of research. The result of this research was presented descriptively in order to reveal the students' perception and motivation comprehensively. The researcher found E- learning gets positive perception because it is flexible and effective. Meanwhile, its flexibility makes some students motivated but some are being lazy in doing it and choose to procrastinate the assignments.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to investigate the types of hate speech on students interaction such as incitement to hatred, expression of insulting and ridicule or slander of person. Then, to investigate the impact of hate speech on students motivation such as it can make the students less of self-confidence, overthinking, become anti-social and isolate them self from their friends and the worst impact is the student become lazy to go to school and feel depressed. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The technique of data collecting are take the video, interview and questionnaire. There are three videos which are uses as source of data about types of hate speech, those videos show on the students interaction. Interview with two students and an English lecturer which are uses as source of data about the impact of hate speech on students motivation that consist of 16 questions. Questionnaire which are uses as source of data about the impact of hate speech on students motivation that consist of 10 questions. In collecting the data, the researcher transcribe the videos into written data accurately, and classify the data based on data from utterances of the students then put them into appropriate categories. In order the data can be easy to be identify and to be analyze. After all of the data are collected, the researcherl analysis the data and draw the conclusion. The result of this research can be seen as follows there are the impact of hate speech on students motivation, it can make the students less of self-confidence, overthinking, become anti-social and isolate them self from their friends and the worst impact is the student become lazy to go to school and feel depressed.

Abstract

Berdasarkan masalah penelitian, maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan strategi tiga koneksi dalam membaca siswa pemahaman siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Langgudu di tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dalam eksperimennya penelitian dan teknik tes yang digunakan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kedelapan siswa kelas SMP Negeri 3 Langgudu pada tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Peneliti mengambil 30 siswa dari 30 siswa sebagai contoh. Peneliti membandingkan dua kelompok sampel dan memberikannya pretest sebelum treatment dan posttest setelah treatment. Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil sebagai berikut: pertama, pengajaran membaca cerita ulang tes teks dan naratif dengan strategi tiga koneksi lebih efektif daripada mengajar membaca pemahaman teks recount tanpa tiga strategi koneksi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa. Kedua, Hasil penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah skor rata-rata dari post-test dari kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan post-test dari kelompok kontrol. Jadi, berdasarkan penjelasan di atas, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan strategi tiga koneksi efektif dalam membaca teks recount dan tes naratif pemahaman daripada siswa yang diajar tanpa menggunakan strategi tiga koneksi. Nilai uji-t adalah 4,66 dan nilai t tabel sebesar 0,361. Itu artinya skor t-test lebih tinggi dari skor t-tabel. Jadi, bisa disimpulkan bahwa pengajaran melalui strategi tiga koneksi efektif.

Abstract

The problem statment in this research : was ELC(English Language Clinic) Program effective to improve students’ speaking perfomace at second semester of English Study Program.This research aimed to find out to know the ELC (English Language Clinic) Program effective to improve students speaking perfomance.This research was conducted at second semester of English Study Program Program. The researcher was a quantitative approach by applied the pre-experimental method with design of one group pre-test and post-test by compared before and after gave the treatment . Researcher used test in this research. The results of the research showed that the joint ELC (English Language Clinic) Program was effective to students speaking perfomance. Students were able to speak and fluent to explainly objects in more detail. There was a positive change from the pre-test average score of 53,53, then after gave treatment used ELC (English Language Clinic) Program it increased to 71,73. in the post-test. And from the results of the paired sample T test, it was found that the paired sample test" using SPSS, it was known that the significance value obtained was 0.000 <0.05. This can be seen from the guidelines of making decision where if the value of Sig. (2- taled) < 0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Which means that the hypothesis in this research is accepted, it concluded that joint in ELC (English Language Clinic) program improved students speaking perfomance.This shows that the ELC (English Language Clinic) program was effective in improving students’ speaking perfomance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali pola pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh guru terhadap siswa di kelas inklusi. Kelas inklusi merupakan kelas yang mengakomodasi siswa dengan kebutuhan khusus bersama dengan siswa reguler, sehingga pendekatan pendampingan yang diterapkan oleh guru harus adaptif dan berbasis pada prinsip inklusivitas. Dalam penelitian ini, pendekatan kualitatif digunakan untuk memahami dinamika pendampingan guru melalui wawancara dengan guru, observasi kelas, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola pendampingan guru di kelas inklusi terdiri dari beberapa aspek penting, antara lain: (1) pendekatan individual yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan siswa, (2) kolaborasi antara guru kelas dengan spesialis pendampingan, dan (3) pembentukan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan mendukung. Guru juga memberikan perhatian lebih terhadap aspek sosial dan emosional siswa dengan kebutuhan khusus, yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dan keberhasilan akademik mereka. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang lebih dalam tentang pentingnya pola pendampingan yang inklusif dan efektif dalam pendidikan untuk siswa dengan beragam latar belakang dan kemampuan.

Abstract

Menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan dasar dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang harus dikuasai oleh mahasiswa, namun sering dianggap sebagai keterampilan yang sulit. Salah satu tantangan utama adalah rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks deskriptif, yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya kemampuan mereka dalam memvisualisasikan objek yang akan dideskripsikan. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, metode Direct Object Writing Method with Realia (DOWMR) diusulkan sebagai solusi. Metode ini melibatkan penggunaan objek nyata di sekitar siswa untuk membantu mereka mendeskripsikan objek dengan lebih rinci dan mendalam. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan untuk melatih guru Bahasa Inggris di SMPN 2 Woha dalam menerapkan metode DOWMR untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan selama satu hari ini meliputi pre-test, sosialisasi, pemberian materi, post-test, dan diskusi. Hasil yang dicapai menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam mengajarkan penulisan teks deskriptif, serta memberikan pengalaman belajar yang lebih praktis dan menyenangkan bagi siswa. Meskipun terdapat beberapa keterbatasan, seperti waktu yang terbatas dan biaya yang minim, kegiatan ini berhasil memberikan dampak positif terhadap pengembangan kapasitas pengajaran guru Bahasa Inggris di sekolah tersebut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; 1) Mengetahui perilaku komunikasi nonverbal anak autis selama proses pembelajaran 2) Mengetahui makna komunikasi nonverbal perilaku anak autis yang ditunjukkan selama proses belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan mengumpulkan data berupa kata-kata atau gambaran secara alami dan mendalam tentang keseluruhan informasi responden. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Runggu, Kecematan Belo, Kabupaten Bima. Objek penelitian ini ditentukan berdasarkan ketidakmampuan anak autis dalam berkomunikasi khususnya Tuna Rungu. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah peneliti itu sendiri. Data primer dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi partisipan dan data sekunder dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi dari pihak-pihak terkait yang terkait dengan penelitian ini. Data yang telah terkumpul selanjutnya akan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku anak autis khususnya komunikasi nonverbal sangat berbeda dengan perilaku anak pada umumnya, Pada dasarnya anak tuna rungu ternyata dapat menunjukkan berbagai perilaku nonverbal, mulai dari penggunaan ekspresi wajah, kontak mata, gerakan tubuh dan haptika (sentuhan) dengan baik untuk menunjukkan perasaan mereka, dimana tingkah laku yang mereka tampilkan merupakan bentuk dari keinginan untuk berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa dengan pendekatan dan perhatian terhadap anak autis sangat membantu seorang guru untuk memahami makna dari perilaku anak tersebut

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the learning difficulties in reading and writing faced by first-grade students at SDN 2 Tente. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that students struggle with letter recognition, spelling words, and writing simple sentences. Factors contributing to these difficulties include lack of learning motivation, inappropriate teaching methods, and insufficient environmental support. To address these issues, teachers need to apply more varied and engaging teaching strategies and involve parents in the learning process. This study recommends schools to enhance teacher training and provide adequate learning facilities. Consequently, it is expected that students’ reading and writing abilities will improve significantly.
