Abstract

Background: COVID-19 first appeared in Wuhan Province, China in 2019 to the extent that it spread worldwide including Indonesia. COVID-19 cases have declined but vaccine targets have not been fully met, and the number of health workers who died during the COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the things that impact the confidence level of the clinical clerkship students. Objective: This study aims to identify the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the confidence of clinical clesrkship students at the faculty of medicine, Nusa Cendana University. Methods: The research was conducted analytically observational with a cross sectional approach conducted on 88 respondents of the Faculty of Medicine of Nusa Cendana University using google form. Sampling is performed using stratified random sampling techniques. This study was analyzed univariate and bivariate using Linear Regression tests. Result: Out of 88 respondents, 83 (94.3%) agreed to have sufficient confidence, 4 respondents (4.5%) strongly agreed to have sufficient confidence, and 1 respondent (1.1%) did not agree to have sufficient confidence. Meanwhile, 87 people (98,9%) were concerned about the pandemic of COVID-19 and 1 person (1,1%) who were not concerned about the pandemic of COVID-19 with the results of the bivariate analysis of both variables were obtained a p= 0,070. Conclusion: There was no significant effect from the COVID-19 pandemic on the confidence of clinical clesrkship students at the faculty of medicine, Nusa Cendana University.

Abstract

Background: The Grade Point Average (GPA) is an essential factor in medical education, since it is used to evaluate the quality of graduates, with a correlation between a higher GPA and higher-quality doctors. College admission selection system, which is aimed at identifying prospective students who are most likely to succeed in completing education at Faculty of Medicine and has Predictive Validity for undergraduate GPA, is one of factors that can influence GPA.Objective: Knowing the connection between college admissions selection system and grade point average for medical graduates. Methods: This research is an analytic observational study using a Cross Sectional design conducting to utilize a questionnaire on medical graduates for 2020 and 2021 periods. Total Sampling was utilized with a total sample size of 125 people (57 medical graduates for 2020 period and 68 medical graduates for 2021 period) who matched the research criteria. The research was evaluated univariately and bivariately using Somers'd correlation and One Way ANOVA tests, respectively.Result: The bivariate analysis for medical graduates for 2020 period produced a p value = 0.349. For medical graduates, a value p = 0.001 and r = 0.280 were obtained for 2021 period. The value of p = 0.010 was achieved in the One Way ANOVA test. Conclusion: For 2020 period, there is no relationship to college admission selection system and GPA of medical graduates. However, for 2021 period, there is a significant relationship between college admission selection system and GPA of medical graduates, and relationship is included in a weakly positive correlation. In addition, the average GPA of medical graduates varies according on college admission selection system. Graduates who enter tertiary institutions by SNMPTN route have the highest average GPA, followed by those who enter through SBMPTN and SMMU.Keywords: College Admissions Selection System, GPA, Medical Graduate Graduates

Abstract

Background : The 2019 Corona Virus Disease pandemic is still a concern until today. The virus that causes COVID-19 can keep mutating and producing new variants over time. The government has attempted various health protocols including a national vaccination program, with the aim of forming herd immunity. Vaccination has 2 stages of primary vaccination and additional or booster dose of vaccination. Based on data from the Ministry of Health as of 19 January 2022, Kupang Regency has the lowest vaccination rate in East Nusa Tenggara. This can be caused by a lack of self efficacy or belief in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Several survey results show that people’s refusal and doubts about receiving vaccinations are due to concerns about the safety and effectiveness as well as the side effect of COVID-19 vaccine, which can be caused by lack of knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccination. Objective : This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and self efficacy of COVID-19 vaccination at the Tarus Health Center, Kupang Regency. Method : This study used an analytical observational research design with a cross sectional design. Samples were choosen using a non-probability sampling technique with a type of consecutive sampling with a total sample of 103 people. The data were collected using a questionnaire on Knowledge of COVID-19 Vaccination and Self Efficacy of COVID-19 Vaccination to the visitors of Tarus Health Center, Kupang Regency. The data analysis used is the Rank Spearmen Correlation test. Result : From the test results using the Rank Spearman Correlation test, there was no significant correlation between the level of knowledge with the self efficacy of COVID-19 vaccination at the Tarus Health Center, Kupang Regency with the sig(2-tailed) > 0.005. Conclusion : There is no significant correlation between the level of knowledge with the self efficacy of COVID-19 vaccination at the Tarus Health Center, Kupang Regency.

Abstract

Knowledge and attitudes about COVID-19 prevention behavior are very important, especially for health workers themselves, because currently there are health workers who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19. This causes several negative impacts that cause a lot of losses not only for the health workers but for families and students. Research on the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on behavioral motivation and online methods for students has never been done, especially in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), especially at Undana Medical Faculty. FK Undana is a public lecturer faculty in NTT. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research on "The Effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Behavioral Motivation and Online Methods for UNDANA Medical Faculty Students". To increase knowledge about research in general (theoretical) and increase knowledge about COVID-19 in relation to looking at the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on behavioral motivation and online methods for students. The type of research conducted is quantitative and qualitative research using analytical research design and cross sectional design. This research design is used to examine qualitatively in the interview results. The implementation of the online learning system is still not optimal, with the absence of a learning system study report, a learning system feedback report. The supporting factor in the online learning system is that all lecturers and students understand technology and are accustomed to using the internet. An internet service system that already supports teaching and learning activities. The obstacle factor in the online learning system is that the work of lecturers becomes an obstacle to the teaching and learning process considering that their busyness has increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially prioritizing the service of COVID-19 patients. Students are not ready for a sudden change from an offline learning system to an online learning system.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is the second leading cause of death from infectious diseases in the world and Indonesia ranks third in the country with the highest burden of TB that can affect the success of treatment is the role of the Drug Swallowing Supervisor (PMO) in helping pulmonary TB patients to recover. Pulmonary TB treatment takes time which is very long, to ensure regularity of treatment required a PMO who will help sufferers during the treatment phase. World Health Recommendations Organization (WHO) in the Directly Observed Treatment Shortcourse (DOTS) strategy for TB control since 1995 is the involvement of PMO. PMO's Role It is very important for adherence and regularity to take medication to achieve healing, prevent transmission and avoid cases of drug resistance. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the role of PMO on the success of treatment of pulmonary TB patients in Indonesia Kupang City. This research method is a research with observational method analytic and cross sectional approach. The population in the study includes all patients Pulmonary TB who has completed treatment in Kupang City. The sample is 79 sample, taken using probability sampling technique. The results of the Chi Square test results obtained p-value: 0.000 (p 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the role of PMO on the success of treatment of pulmonary TB patients in Kupang City
