Abstract

This study explores the sustainability of pesantren by analyzing the impact of the charismatic  leadership of kiai and the succession of leadership within six pesantren in Pekalongan,  Indonesia. Grounded in the historical and phenomenological approaches, this research  aims to understand how leadership charisma and regeneration influence pesantren continuity.  Within the broader discourse of Islamic education, the kiai's role is pivotal, as the pesantren’s  vitality often depends on his personal authority and vision. Data were collected through in depth interviews, document analysis, and participant observations, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The findings reveal that pesantren, which have endured  over generations, typically exhibit not only strong charismatic leadership but also structured  institutional development and planned leadership succession. Conversely, pesantren that  collapsed did so due to the lack of formalization and inadequate regeneration mechanisms.  This study contributes to the scholarship of Islamic education by highlighting the crucial  interplay between personal charisma, institutional formalization, and leadership continuity. It  also suggests that the future sustainability of pesantren requires intentional leadership  cultivation and adaptive organizational strategies to secure their relevance amid educational  and societal transformations.

Abstract

This article examines the thoughts of KH. Ahmad Siddiq on the educational leadership model with a national perspective. There is a very interesting lesson from his thoughts so he deserves to be called a national hero because he is a cleric who has national insight who can unite the Indonesian people and accept Pancasila as the basis of the Indonesian state. This study uses a descriptive qualitative model with library data collection and data validity using data triangulation. KH. Ahmad Siddiq has a proportional thought, ideology and religion are not two things that must be chosen one while discarding the other. In the relationship between religion and Pancasila, the two can support each other and strengthen each other, the two are not contradictory and should not be contradicted.

Abstract

This article examines the leadership process in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in managing the production of excellent human resources. Superior pesantren resources are produced through transcendental activities, commitment to traditional pesantren scholarly traditions and transmissions, internalization of moral exemplarity, and playing a role in empowering education and social transformation in the community. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, sharpening phenomenological research by describing the general meaning of several cases in pesantren based on the various life experiences of pesantren residents. The data collection methods for this research include interviews, observations, artifacts, autoethnography, and focus groups. This research aims to study the production of pesantren human resources. The results of this study are: first, pesantren leadership produces educated individuals who can carry out Islamic preaching (da'wah Islamiah) and provide services or guidance to the community to become knowledgeable, faithful, morally upright, responsible individuals with an awareness of the importance of life for the hereafter. Second, pesantren leadership educates students and the community to acquire various life skills as a foundation for independent living.

Abstract

As Islam grew in Indonesia, various religious ideas entered society, such as Wahhabism and Salafism from the Arabian peninsula. However, Indonesian society is not easily penetrated and influenced by these two ideologies. It has been proven that this understanding took tens or even hundreds of years to be absorbed by Indonesian society. And now these two ideologies have appeared to grip parts of the Indonesian nation and destroy the religious peace that has existed for hundreds of years in Indonesia. However, it is true what Media Indonesia wrote in its editorial that the Indonesian people can still have high hopes for the two true guardians of pluralism in Indonesia, namely NU and Muhammadiyah. After all, the Republic of Indonesia is a fixed price and pluralism is its guarantee. A unified state with Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism and Buddhism will not be realized without there being tolerance between religious communities. There will be no peace and tranquility in carrying out worship when the values of "lakum diinukum waliya din" are no longer practiced by the Indonesian people. If there is no longer harmony between religious communities, perhaps the Indonesian nation will become a violent barbarian nation. And it is not impossible that one religion and another will overthrow each other and fight on the land of Indonesia. Really no religion wants something like this

Abstract

This article reveals very interesting things about the survival strategy of Islamic boarding schools in facing challenges and filling opportunities for educational progress at the Assunniyah Kencong Jember Islamic boarding school. therefore this research uses quantitative methods with an ethnographic study approach to describe the way they think, live, and behave in developing Islamic boarding schools. The research problem is how is the Islamic Boarding School Education Survival Strategy in Facing Challenges and Filling Opportunities for Educational Progress at the Assunniyah Kencong Jember Islamic Boarding School. The survival strategy of the Assunniyah Jember Islamic boarding school in facing challenges and filling opportunities for educational progress uses the TOWS analysis model: Threats, Opportunities, Weaknesses, and Strengths. So that the use of this TOWS analysis at the Assunniyah Jember Islamic boarding school can be able to face challenges and fill opportunities and have the strength of tradition in developing Islamic boarding school education programs into a sporadic educational model.

Abstract

This article discusses the planning and decision -making of kiai dakam new student admission contest covering a study on decision -making models, decision -making processes and determining the purpose of decision making. Job satisfaction and increased creativity, personal development and acceptance of change depend on decision -making by an organization. A good manager or leader is a manager and leader who is based on the exchange of ideas and cooperation rather than based on authority and arrogance in his position. This research is a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis. Using data collection methods: observation, interviews and documentation. This is done by the kiai in the pesantren to give a decision based on an exchange of opinions and then taken the most positive impact and then delegated to his subordinates to work together to develop the organization. The kiai policy-making process is done in consultation and the pesantren work team is given the authority to carry out their respective duties. So that the recruitment process of new students runs smoothly and increasing every year

Abstract

This article reveals the concept of the ideal teacher according to KH. Hasyim Asy'ari. Effective education is that there is an ideal teacher. The ideal teacher is a teacher who understands teacher ethics and educates students conscientiously and meets the standardization of requirements as a teacher, namely having knowledge, faith, noble character and having learning tools and implementing well as well as assessing and improving learning. This article has a problem, namely how the concept of an ideal teacher according to KH. Hasyim Asy'ari. This study uses a qualitative and literary approach by sharpening comparative analysis and triangulation. The result of this research is that the teacher should apply morality as an educator and teacher, the teacher writes the subject matter and the teacher cleans the mind and aims to get the pleasure of Allah swt. A good teacher is a teacher who has morals to students, namely his noble personality when carrying out his functions and roles as teachers; educate, teach and train, both inwardly. Outwardly, such as in speaking softly, spreading greetings, mastering learning materials and methods, easy-to-understand delivery and so on.

Abstract

Blended learning is a learning method that combines two things, namely face-to-face learning directly and online using the Learning Management System. Simply put, this learning method combines a face-to-face learning system at school and school from home. This learning method is a teaching process by combining teacher-led learning activities using pictures, videos, digital assignments, and face-to-face discussions. Classrooms provide opportunities for students and teachers to be able to carry out the face-to-face teaching and learning process directly. While online learning provides opportunities for teachers to provide independent learning using eLearning components such as games, learning videos, and online quizzes. One of the biggest challenges for schools to implement blended learning methods is the absence of a supportive learning management system. In fact, a qualified learning management system is one of the keys to the success of the blended learning method. Because by having a qualified learning management system, teachers can easily arrange modules, exams, or assessments for all students

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji tentang kontribusi KH. Dhofir Salam dalam mendirikan dan mengembangkan pendidikan agama Islam serta mengkaji perjuangan beliau di dalam meraih kemerdekaan Indonesia. Penelitian ini sangat penting untuk diteliti dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dan pendekatan sejarah. Peran KH. Dhofir Salam dalam pendidikan sangat besar jasa-jasa beliau karena ia mendirikan banyak sekolah-sekolah di kabupaten Jember yaitu, Pesantren al-fattah, MIMA KH. Siddiq, SMP Islam Jember, SMAI Jember, MAN 1 Jember, MAN 2 Jember, IAIN Jember sekarang menjadi UIN Khas Jember dan terakhir mendirikan Universitas Islam Jember. Selain mendirikan pendidikan Islam tersebut, beliau juga berperan serta dalam peperangan mealawan penjajah Belanda-Jepang di Keresidenan termasuk beliau menjadi komandan pasukan perang yang hebat dan pemberani melawan para penjajah.
