Abstract

This aims of the study is to determine the potential for carbon deposits and uptake in Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus Willd) tree species. This research was carried out in December 2019. To determine the potential for carbon storage, the Allometric Equation formula was used to estimate biomass stored in it. A half of the biomass is carbon content stored. The results of this study showed that the largest estimation of carbon storage in green space of Ilir Barat I District at the point of observation of GOR / PSCC with a total carbon content of 17,999 tons / ha with an individual number of 23 species of Angsana plants (Pterocarpus indicus Willd). For the District of Ilir Barat I in the City of Palembang, it is expected to increase the number of Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus Willd) plants because these plants can absorb enough carbon and have strong roots

Abstract

Organic fertilizer is the final result of the decomposition of parts or remains of plants and or animals that have undergone engineering, in solid or liquid form. Household waste, one of which is stale rice, is usually thrown away directly into the environment, even though it can still be used, for example, made as liquid organic fertilizer. For this reason, it is necessary to remodel household waste, especially stale rice, into liquid organic fertilizer by utilizing existing local microorganisms. This Community Service aims to provide motivation and knowledge and skills to the community on how to make liquid organic fertilizer from stale rice by utilizing local microorganisms. The location of Community Service was held at RT.28 RW.007 Silaberanti Village, Jakabaring District, Palembang City, on January 30, 2021. The method used was counseling and training to participants on the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from stale rice. The implementation of the activity was attended by 12 participants, who were followed with enthusiasm and discussions and questions and answers during the training. The results of this Community Service show that the service method in the form of counseling, training and question and answer is very appropriate in motivating the community to be able to make liquid organic fertilizer from stale rice.

Abstract

Eucalyptus Sp is one type of priority which developed in the management of earmarked as a timber fibers estate .This research aims to review the results of the best combination of peat growing media, charcoal and cocopeat most good for growth seeds (E. pellita F.Muell). This study was conducted in November 2019 to January 2020. The methodology using patterns of random design group (RAK). Each treatment group consists of 3 treatment 9, 27 so there is any treatment that were taken 3 sample 81 seeds. Observation variables observed that is high in plant , diameter of the stem , number of leaves , a heavy wetness and heavy dry total , index the quality of seeds , and the percentage of life. The results of the data shows that the treatment of seeds (E. pellita F.Muell) real bearing on tall plants, trunk diameter, the number of, leaves a heavy wetness total, heavy and dry an index of quality seeds and live percentage. The results of the data shows that the treatment of seeds (E. pellita F.Muell) real bearing on tall plants, trunk diameter, the number of, leaves a heavy wetness total, heavy and dry an index of quality seeds and live percentage. Media growing season (peaty soil mixed cocopeat 1: 1) shows the results of that is better and the average rate of the most highest for growth seeds (E. pellita F.Muell) in tall plant , diameter of the stem , number of leaves , a heavy wetness and heavy dry total , index the quality of seeds. Abstract

The habitat of the Sumatran Elephant (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) can be found in several types of forest, where naturally elephants need a large area to forage for food and spend time in primary (protected) forest during the day and out into open forest (secondary forest) during hot times. the sun has diminished. Elephants also need a safe and comfortable atmosphere so that their mating behavior (breeding) is not disturbed and their reproductive process can run well. This makes elephants very dependent on natural habitats to breed and find food. This research aims to find out what types of food preferences elephants have and the distribution of elephant food in the Natural Reserve Forest Area of the Isau-Isau Forest Group Elephant Training Center during ± 2 (two) Months. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative research. Results of research on the types of vegetation that Sumatran elephants (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) feed on in the HSA PLG KH Isau-Isau area, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province in July 2023. This observation was carried out on all Sumatran elephants (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) found in HSA PLG KH Isau-Isau, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. From data obtained in the field in the HSA PLG KH Isau-Isau area, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province, there are 8 Sumatran elephants (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) with 1 male elephant and 7 female elephants. From data in the field there are 16 The type of food for elephants at the observation location with the favorite food for all elephants is Belidang (Fimbristylis annua) with a long eating time with an average of 3.1 minutes to eat for 15 minutes and a food preference index of 0.226, while for plants the most Elephants quickly eat the Lentahi plant (Molineria capitulate) with a feeding time of 1 minute with a Feeding Preference Index of 0.067.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine and analyze biodiversity and ecotourism potential in the Archaeological Park of the Sriwijaya Kingdom by gathering information from vegetation analysis of green open spaces (RTH) and conducting interviews and questionnaires to managers and visitors. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, documentation and literature. The informants in this study were visitors and managers of the Sriwijaya Kingdom Archaeological Park. The results showed that the Archaeological Park of the Sriwijaya Kingdom has the concept of historical and cultural tourism of the Sriwijaya Kingdom with various tourist attractions, namely natural scenery, the beauty of Cempaka and Nangka Islands, biodiversity and historical and cultural heritage of the Sriwijaya Kingdom. Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus) is dominated by Angsana in the ancient park of the Kingdom of Sriwijaya at the pole level with a diameter of 15.36 cm and an IVI value of 75.44. At the tree level, it is dominated by the Banyan (Ficus benjamina) with a diameter of 30.07 cm and an IVI value of 39.61. The condition of the vegetation in the Archaeological Park of the Sriwijaya Kingdom, at the tree level, there are many old trees with dense crowns with a diameter of ± 30 cm and stems and branches that are starting to die, such as Banyan trees and Angsana, to overcome the problems that arise. there is replanting and adding trees that have ecological and educational functions. The potential for developing urban parks in the Archaeological Park of the Sriwijaya Kingdom has four potentials, namely ecological potential, social potential, cultural and historical potential and economic potential. Based on the SWOT analysis, the potential for developing urban parks in the Archaeological Park of the Sriwijaya Kingdom is maintaining the potential of urban parks, improving services, professional human resources, facilities and infrastructure and developing ecotourism products by utilizing urban and historical parks and maintaining existing tourism concepts. The strengths of the Sriwijaya Kingdom Archaeological Park are tourism that is favored by teenagers and students, the existence of facilities and infrastructure, accessibility, attractive and diverse tourism potential, having the beauty of the city and cultural history and having biodiversity. The weaknesses of the Sriwijaya Kingdom Archaeological Park are the lack of promotion on social media, the condition of damaged infrastructure and incomplete infrastructure, not having sufficient budget for even better development, limited human resources and lack of area security due to the extent of the Royal Archaeological Park Srivijaya.
