Abstract

This study aimed to determine the best response to the growth of Sengon Buto (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) seeds from CRF fertilizer, manure and localized fertilizer on post-mining coal soils. Mining land that is used comes from the post-coal mining land of PT. Bukit Asam (Persero) TBK. This research was conducted for 3 months in February-April 2019, the using a completely randomized design (CRD) with a homogeneous conditioned environment using hoods, with 3 treatments and 9 replications in each replication there were 5 seeds so that the seeds needed were 135 seeds. The parameters observed were the percentage of germination, germination value, growth speed, germination rate, height, and diameter. The results of this study indicate that the response of sengon buto seeds given various types of fertilizers gives a significant effect on the percentage of germination, germination value, germination rate, height and diameter, but no significant effect on growth speed. The growth response of Sengon Buto (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) seed showed that the highest percentage of germination parameters existed in the post-mining soil media which was given CRF fertilizer with a percentage of 82.22% compared to manure (68.89%) and the location of fertilizer (57, 78%), while the best germination rate parameter was found in the post-mining coal media soil which was given bokashi fertilizer with a percentage of 33.09% compared to Manure (12.07) and CRF fertilizer (10.84).

Abstract

Green open space (RTH) is one of the most important elements in urban areas that can function to balance the ecological conditions in an area so that there is a balance between ecosystems and development developments in the modern era. But the pace of urban development often does not consider the existence of green space. Other than that, many people do not know the existence and function of green space, so it often looks like being ignored and not maintained. In this case, researchers are interested in identifying the potential presence of green open space in the Seberang Ulu II sub-district of Palembang. This study will collect data on the location of each green space in the Seberang Ulu II sub-district, identification of existing vegetation types, estimation of carbon storage, and the level of understanding of the Seberang Ulu II community on the existence and function of green space. The method used is to use plot sampling to determine the level of diversity of green space and the distribution of questionnaires to determine the level of community understanding. The results showed that the area of green open space in the Seberang Ulu II sub-district was only 1.88% of the total area. From the open green space location in Seberang Ulu II Subdistrict, there are 33 species of green open vegetation plants. Where Angsana plants (Pterocarpus indicus), trembesi (Albizia saman), palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.), Glodogantiang (Polyathea longifolia) and palm (Mascarena sp) become a plant that dominates and has the highest INP value.

Abstract

The habitat of the Sumatran Elephant (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) can be found in several types of forest, where naturally elephants need a large area to forage for food and spend time in primary (protected) forest during the day and out into open forest (secondary forest) during hot times. the sun has diminished. Elephants also need a safe and comfortable atmosphere so that their mating behavior (breeding) is not disturbed and their reproductive process can run well. This makes elephants very dependent on natural habitats to breed and find food. This research aims to find out what types of food preferences elephants have and the distribution of elephant food in the Natural Reserve Forest Area of the Isau-Isau Forest Group Elephant Training Center during ± 2 (two) Months. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative research. Results of research on the types of vegetation that Sumatran elephants (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) feed on in the HSA PLG KH Isau-Isau area, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province in July 2023. This observation was carried out on all Sumatran elephants (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) found in HSA PLG KH Isau-Isau, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province. From data obtained in the field in the HSA PLG KH Isau-Isau area, West Merapi District, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province, there are 8 Sumatran elephants (Elephas maximus Sumatranus) with 1 male elephant and 7 female elephants. From data in the field there are 16 The type of food for elephants at the observation location with the favorite food for all elephants is Belidang (Fimbristylis annua) with a long eating time with an average of 3.1 minutes to eat for 15 minutes and a food preference index of 0.226, while for plants the most Elephants quickly eat the Lentahi plant (Molineria capitulate) with a feeding time of 1 minute with a Feeding Preference Index of 0.067.
