Abstract

This research aims to determine whether positive reinforcement technique group counseling services can improve the interpersonal communication skills of class VIII-1 students at Nur Azizi Private Middle School for the 2022/2023 academic year. This research uses research in counseling guidance (PTBK) which is carried out in 2 cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were 5 students in class VIII-1 of Nur Azizi Private Middle School who had interpersonal communication skills scores in the low category obtained from the questionnaire that had been distributed. This research data was collected using an interpersonal communication skills questionnaire with 31 statement items which were valid and reliable with a score of 0.771. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing the percentages achieved before and after group counseling. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that before being given positive reinforcement technique group counseling, the average level of students' interpersonal communication skills was 55.8 in the low category. After being given positive reinforcement technique group counseling in cycle I, the average score of students' interpersonal communication skills level increased to 70.2 in the medium category with a success achievement of 60% and in cycle II the average score of students' interpersonal communication skills level increased to 106. 2 in the high category with 100% success. So there was a significant increase in interpersonal communication skills after group counseling was carried out using positive reinforcement techniques for class VIII-1 students at Nur Azizi Private Middle School for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the structure and interrelationships between elements in the novel CRYING WINTER by Mell Shalila. The research method used is qualitative research with a structural approach. Sources of data were obtained using secondary data which type is used to support the primary information that has been obtained, namely from library materials, literature, previous research, books, and so on. The data collected is in the form of text related to the building elements of the novel. The data source for this research is the novel CRYING WINTER by Mell Shalila. Data collection techniques using library techniques. Data analysis techniques, namely making a synopsis, describing the elements of the building structure contained in the novel CRYING WINTER by Mell Shalila, analyzing the relationship between building elements contained in the novel CRYING WINTER by Mell Shalila , and draw conclusions. The results of the research are in the form of intrinsic elements contained in the novel, namely theme, plot, setting, characters, characterizations, point of view, story style, and message. Where all these elements are interrelated and form a complete meaning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine educational values ​​in the form of quotations from the fairy tale "The Arrogant Beautiful Butterfly" by Yoga Triana. The method used in this research is qualitative. The analysis technique in this study is to analyze documents in the form of fairy tales. The object of this research is the educational values ​​in the fairy tale "The Beautiful Arrogant Butterfly" by Yoga Triana. With this the author collects data by reading from books and journals. The results of this research on fairy tales are that as a whole, these fairy tales already reflect the educational values ​​needed in fairy tales as a way of life or as a way for students to have good morals in socializing.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of figure of speech contained in a short story entitled “Broken and Bleeding Taste” Karrya Nian Khurotul Asma. Research examining the use of figure of speech has been carried out by several researchers. This research method is a qualitative descriptive method with the results in the form of narrative data according to the approach used. Based on the data collected, it contains several language styles (majas), namely of which there are 5 personification majas, there are 4 metaphors, there is only 1 allegory, there is 1 smile and there is 1 satire.

Abstract

This study aims to examine errors in the use of Indonesian language in the written work of new students in the Accounting Education Study Program in 2025. A qualitative approach was applied, utilizing content analysis of three student papers as samples. The findings revealed 76 cases of language errors that can be grouped into five categories, namely spelling (22 cases), punctuation (15 cases), diction (12 cases), ineffective sentences (18 cases), and paragraphs (9 cases). Spelling errors and ineffective sentences were the most prominent. The main causes of these errors included a lack of accuracy, the influence of spoken language habits that seeped into writing, and students' limited understanding of the rules of the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling (PUEBI) and academic writing skills. These results indicate that the writing skills of new students still need to be strengthened through proofreading practice, structured writing exercises, and language teaching that focuses more on practical application.

Abstract

Teaching materials are learning resources used during learning, making it easier to convey lesson material information. Teaching materials are not only limited to printed books, but some are electronic based. One of the electronic-based teaching materials that can be used is electronic books. Electronic books are teaching materials that can meet students' needs for drama material. So it is necessary to develop electronic books on drama material using book creators in class XI high school. This research aims to (1) The process of developing drama teaching materials with the help of book creators, (2) The form of drama teaching materials with the help of book creator media. The development model used is the ADDIE model. With techniques and data collection from interviews with teachers in the field of study, observation, documentation and questionnaires. Results of questionnaire data from media experts and material experts. Development in this research uses the ADDIE model which has three stages, namely analysis, design, development. The results of this research show that in the media expert assessment, they received a percentage score of 96.42% in the "Very Appropriate" category. In the material expert assessment, the percentage score was 82.35% in the "Very Eligible" category. So, from the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the drama teaching materials assisted by book creator media that have been developed are valid and very suitable for use as supporting learning media for drama texts assisted by book creator media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis siswa pada materi teks prosedur di SD Negeri 138429 Tanjungbalai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan video pembelajaran terhadap hasil menulis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest, melibatkan 13 siswa kelas VI sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tulis sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji-t berpasangan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 58,69 (pretest) menjadi 73,23 (posttest), dengan nilai signifikansi p < 0,05. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa video pembelajaran memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa. Oleh karena itu, media video dapat dijadikan alternatif yang efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks prosedur di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Proposal adalah dokumen tertulis yang berperan sebagai panduan awal dalam merancang suatu kegiatan atau penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah hakikat dan struktur teks proposal serta mengevaluasi kelengkapan unsur pada empat contoh proposal dari jenis yang berbeda. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis isi terhadap dua proposal penelitian dan dua proposal kegiatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua proposal memiliki unsur pokok yang sama, yaitu judul, latar belakang, tujuan, manfaat, serta metode atau rencana pelaksanaan kegiatan. Perbedaan terlihat pada unsur tambahan, di mana proposal penelitian menekankan tinjauan pustaka dan metodologi, sedangkan proposal kegiatan lebih menyoroti anggaran, penutup, dan sponsorship. Proposal PKM menjadi berbeda karena memuat abstrak sebagai ringkasan awal. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa kelengkapan struktur proposal sangat dipengaruhi oleh orientasi dan tujuan penyusunannya

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the text structure and micro genres in scientific article writing and examine their relation to the quality of academic writing. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis on three scientific articles selected based on the criteria of being published in journals and having a complete structure. The research instrument consisted of an analysis sheet designed to identify the completeness of article structure elements (abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion) and micro genre elements (abstract, exposition, review, reconstruction, description, discussion). The findings indicate that all three articles fulfilled the main structure of scientific writing, although differences appeared in the literature review section, which was absent in one article. In terms of micro genres, abstract, exposition, description, and discussion consistently appeared, while review and reconstruction were not present. These results highlight that variations in structural and micro-genre elements are influenced by the type of research and the author’s writing style. This study underscores the importance of understanding structure and micro genres for students and novice researchers to produce more systematic, argumentative, and academically appropriate scientific articles.

Abstract

This study aims to examine students’ understanding in writing research reports, the sections that are best understood and the most difficult ones, as well as their perceptions of the writing process. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with 23 respondents from the Accounting Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Medan. The research instruments consisted of a knowledge test with five multiple-choice questions on the structure of research reports and a perception questionnaire with five Likert-scale statements. The findings revealed that students’ understanding was in the good category with an average score of 81.76%. The most understood aspect was the research method (91.3%), while the lowest was the literature review (69.6%). In terms of perception, students showed a positive attitude towards academic format (78.2%) and the ability to distinguish sections of the report (78.2%). However, 26% of respondents experienced difficulties in writing the literature review and 39.1% expressed uncertainty in the discussion section. These results indicate that although students generally understand the structure of research reports, practical writing skills remain a challenge.
