The material contained in the KHI is considered gender bias against women, so CLD-KHI was born which aims to revise the article on gender bias in the KHI. With one of the approaches used in formulating laws based on gender equality so that the role of women in society that has undergone significant evolution, including in terms of education, career, and active participation in economic life does not reduce women's rights. This research is classified as library research type, data is collected by reviewing and reviewing various books that have relevance to the subject matter, and then using primary and secondary data sources, with normative analysis research methods on various sources of Islamic law, legal documents, and related literature. This research also involves a comparative approach to compare the views of different schools of Islamic law regarding ihdad rights and their context in the lives of career women today. The results showed that it is necessary to reformulate ihdad rights in order to accommodate the aspirations and real conditions of career women. This reformulation should take into account just and balanced inheritance rights, without neglecting fundamental principles of Islamic law. In addition, it is also necessary to integrate social, economic, and cultural aspects in consideration of the formulation of new ihdad rights. This research contributes in the face of social change and the demands of gender equality in the context of Islamic law. It is hoped that the resulting ihdad rights formulation can provide guidance for legislators and legal practitioners in developing more inclusive and fair regulations for career women, while adhering to fundamental Islamic legal principles.

Abstract

This study explores the intersection between Qur’anic interpretation and the global sustainability agenda through the framework of Green Qur’anic Hermeneutics. By re-examining the revelation within the moral horizon of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this research seeks to demonstrate that the Qur’an not only provides theological foundations for ecological ethics but also offers a comprehensive spiritual framework for environmental sustainability. Employing a qualitative and interpretive method, the study conducts a thematic analysis (tafsīr mawḍū’ī) on selected verses related to environmental balance (mīzān), corruption on earth (fasād fī al-arḍ), stewardship (khilāfah), and moderation (wasatiyyah). These concepts are contextualized within SDG pillars such as clean water, climate action, sustainable consumption, and life on land. The findings reveal that the Qur’anic ecological discourse anticipates modern sustainability paradigms by emphasizing moral restraint, accountability, and the unity of creation under divine order. Moreover, the integration of hermeneutical reflection and environmental ethics provides a new epistemological orientation for Islamic scholarship: from textual exegesis toward eco-ethical praxis. The study concludes that Green Qur’anic Hermeneutics contributes not only to the development of Islamic eco-theology but also to the global effort in realizing SDG principles through faith-based ecological awareness. This approach strengthens the dialogue between religion and environmental science, positioning the Qur’an as a living guide for sustainable civilization.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of the judge's code of ethics from the perspective of siyasah syar'iyyah. The problem of this research is the number of judges who violate the judge's code of ethics. This research uses a type of qualitative field research with a normative (Syar'i) approach and a juridical approach. Data collection methods were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that judges are state judicial officials who are authorized by law to adjudicate. The emergence of a discourse on the professional code of ethics for judges arises because it departs from the reality of law enforcers (especially judges) who ignore moral values. Even though we already have a professional code of ethics for judges as a moral standard, it turns out that it has not had a positive impact, because in implementing the code of ethics for judges there are still many professional judges who violate this code of ethics, as has happened at the Makassar District Court.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in diversity, and the role of religion in life remains a relevant and dynamic topic. Historically, religion has played a significant role in shaping the order of social life. The study of men and women is generally referred to as gender studies. Unlike the term sex, which focuses more on the biological differences between men and women, gender focuses more on the relationship between men and women in terms of their roles and responsibilities. Gender justice and equality are the primary objectives of this study. Gender injustice is the primary issue that becomes the topic of the problem. Gender injustice is the process of marginalization and impoverishment of women. This injustice is caused by several factors, including government policies, traditional beliefs, religious interpretations, customs, and scientific assumptions.

Abstract

Consultation (shura) is a fundamental principle in Islamic teachings that functions not only as political ethics, but also as a collective method for social and family decision-making. Although many studies highlight consultation in the context of state affairs, studies on its implementation in household dynamics are still limited. This study aims to analyze the concept and meaning of musyawarah in Surah Ali Imran (3): 159, Surah al-Syura (42): 38, and Surah al-Baqarah (2): 233 based on the interpretations of classical and contemporary exegetes, as well as analyzing the relevance and implementation of these principles in building harmony in household life. This study uses a thematic interpretation (maudhu'i) method. Data collection was conducted through library research by referring to classical and contemporary interpretation literature. The results of the study show that deliberation in the Qur'an includes the principles of gentleness, equality, mutual agreement, collective participation, and moral responsibility. Surah Ali Imran (3): 159 emphasizes the importance of gentle and communicative leadership; Surah al-Syura (42): 38 places deliberation as a key characteristic of a community of believers, including within the family environment; while Surah al-Baqarah (2):233 emphasizes deliberation as a fundamental principle in family relationships, especially between husband and wife. These principles have proven relevant in building a harmonious, dialogical, and just household life Keywords: Shura, Thematic Tafsir, Family Life, Surah Ali Imran, al-Shura and al-Baqarah

Abstract

The phenomena of social fragmentation, religious polarization, and the decline of humanitarian solidarity highlight the importance of reviving the value of ukhuwah (brotherhood) in Islam. This study aims to examine the concept of ukhuwah in the Qur’an, particularly in Surah Al-Ḥujurāt verse 10, and its relevance to modern social life. The research employs a library research method with a thematic interpretation approach (tafsir mawḍū‘ī). Primary data sources include the Qur’an and both classical and contemporary exegeses such as Tafsir Al-Marāghī, Tafsir Al-Mishbah, and Tafsir Al-Azhar. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively by interpreting the verse in its social and humanitarian context. The results indicate that ukhuwah consists of four main levels: ukhuwah ‘ubūdiyyah (brotherhood among all of God’s creations), ukhuwah insāniyyah (human brotherhood), ukhuwah wathaniyyah (national brotherhood), and ukhuwah dīniyyah (religious brotherhood). Surah Al-Ḥujurāt [49]:10 emphasizes that true ukhuwah is realized through peace (iṣlāḥ) and piety. These values are relevant in strengthening unity among Muslims, promoting interreligious tolerance, and fostering social solidarity in contemporary society.

Abstract

The concept of destiny in the Qur'an is one of the most fundamental theological knowledge that continues to be reread over time. This article aims to analyze destiny through three philosophical frameworks of science: ontology, epistemology, and axiology, and to relate them to the dynamics of the contemporary era. Ontologically, this study asserts that destiny in the Qur'an is rooted in the belief in the omnipotence and omniscience of God, which encompasses the creation, arrangement, and determination of all phenomena, without negating the role of human will and effort. Epistemologically, this study describes the sources of knowledge about destiny through the texts of the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the rational reasoning of classical and modern scholars, thus demonstrating that the understanding of destiny develops through a dialectic between text and context. From an axiological perspective, this article emphasizes the ethical and practical implications of the concept of destiny in addressing contemporary problems such as technological determinism, existential anxiety, and moral crisis. Using a literature review method and a thematic analysis approach to Quranic verses and modern theological works, this study finds that the concept of destiny is not fatalistic, but rather directs humans toward an ethos of effort, moral responsibility, and cosmic order that aligns with the principles of the sunnatullah (God's will). This study contributes to strengthening a moderate, rational, and applicable theological understanding, making it relevant to the development of Islamic knowledge in the contemporary era.

Abstract

The point of departure for this research lies in the growing anxiety over the transformation of meaning and authority attached to the figure of the ulama in contemporary Muslim contexts, which are increasingly influenced by digital dynamics, the reconfiguration of values in modern life, and the widening gap in moral orientation. Within the present socio-cultural landscape, ulama are no longer perceived solely as custodians of religious knowledge and spirituality, but also as social actors who are compelled to respond to ethical, epistemological, and representational dilemmas. Accordingly, this study seeks to investigate how the Qur’an conceptualizes the notion of ulama by adopting a qualitative design grounded in library research, utilizing the methodological framework of thematic Qur’anic interpretation (tafsir maudhū‘ī) combined with semantic and linguistic analysis. The data set was compiled through a close and critical reading of Qur’anic passages, alongside classical and modern exegetical works as well as relevant academic studies, and was subsequently examined through a thematic lens to map out patterns of meaning and semantic linkages among the concepts of ‘ilm (knowledge), khasyiah (reverent consciousness), and hikmah (wisdom). The analysis yields three central thematic formulations. First, the Qur’anic portrait of ulama highlights individuals who harmonize intellectual reasoning with spiritual humility, thereby presenting an equilibrium between cognitive mastery and moral awareness. Second, the study identifies a growing tension between traditional scholarly authority and expanding popular visibility in the digital sphere, where markers of religious legitimacy tend to shift from profundity of knowledge toward public exposure and symbolic recognition. Third, the research uncovers indications of a moral degeneration among certain ulama figures, which underscores the urgency of redefining their function as moral guardians and agents of ethical and social responsibility within the Muslim ummah. Collectively, these results demonstrate that the Qur’anic conception of ulama should not be understood as a fixed status, but as a dynamic construct that interweaves intellectual, spiritual, and sociological dimensions. From a theoretical standpoint, this work contributes to the enrichment of thematic-linguistic approaches in Qur’anic exegesis and the sociology of Islamic scholarship; from a practical perspective, it provides reflective input for strengthening public ethics, advancing morally grounded Islamic education, and cultivating digital religious literacy in contemporary society.
