Abstract

This research aims to examine how interactions and the role of peers contribute to the formation of sanguine personality among students of the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program at STAI Al Furqan Makassar. The college years are a challenging transitional phase, where social interactions, especially with peers, play a crucial role in character formation and the development of students' social skills. The sanguine personality, characterized by cheerful, expressive, and sociable traits, is considered highly relevant to the demands of the profession as an Islamic counselor. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation involving nine students from the 4th and 6th semesters. The research results show that intensive interaction and emotional support from peers can encourage students to be more open, confident, and communicative. In addition, the role of peers also serves as a stimulus in the formation of positive and adaptive character that supports students' readiness as prospective educators in the community. These findings emphasize the importance of creating a supportive social environment on campus to foster balanced personality development.

Abstract

Laboratory activities enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts through hands-on experience and develop their scientific thinking. Proficiency in using key instruments like microscopes, pipettes, Bunsen burners, and thermometers is crucial for safe and successful experiments. This study at SMAN 1 Rasau Jaya aimed to assess students' understanding and proficiency in utilizing these six laboratory tools, with the goal of improving the quality of laboratory-based learning. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method to evaluate the cognitive abilities of 12th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Rasau Jaya in relation to the use of laboratory equipment, including microscopes, dropper pipettes, measuring cups, Bunsen burners, thermometers, and O'Haus balances. The sample consisted of a single study group with diverse student characteristics. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of yes/no questions designed to assess students' knowledge of proper tool usage. The questionnaire was completed manually within a limited time frame for each question. The findings showed that students generally had good to fairly good knowledge of laboratory equipment. Tools like microscopes, dropper pipettes, and Bunsen burners were better understood, while measuring cups, thermometers, and O'Haus balances required further instruction. The study emphasizes the importance of practical experience and familiarity with tools in developing proficiency. The study highlights the significant role of familiarity and practical experience in developing tool-use proficiency. These findings underscore the importance of achieving a balance between theoretical instruction, understanding of tool mechanisms, and hands-on laboratory practice.

Abstract

General background: Student-centered learning has become an international and national priority, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Indonesia’s Kurikulum Merdeka, which emphasize active, contextual, and collaborative learning. Specific background: However, in practice, fifth-grade students at SDN 112 Purwo Bakti demonstrated low engagement and achievement in Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) due to teacher-centered methods. Knowledge gap: While previous studies have applied Project Based Learning (PjBL) in science or social studies separately, limited research addresses its impact on integrated IPAS within the framework of Kurikulum Merdeka. Aims: This study investigates the effectiveness of PjBL in improving both the process and outcomes of IPAS learning in grade V. Results: Through two cycles of classroom action research involving 20 students, teacher performance improved from 80% to 100%, student engagement from 80% to 90%, and learning mastery from 80% to 90%, surpassing the minimum completeness criteria. Novelty: This study uniquely explores the integration of PjBL in IPAS learning as aligned with Kurikulum Merdeka, offering empirical insights rarely examined in primary schools. Implications: Findings highlight that PjBL not only enhances academic achievement but also fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity, providing a sustainable reference for innovative learning strategies in 21st-century education Highlights: PjBL improved student participation and achievement significantly. Integration of PjBL in IPAS is rarely studied at primary level. Supports Kurikulum Merdeka goals for active and contextual learning. Abstract

Social media has transformed the way society interacts with religious texts, including the Qur'an. This study aims to uncover an intriguing phenomenon regarding the reception and practice of QS. Yāsīn [36]: 82 among TikTok users, particularly in relation to its use as a means of attracting affection. The study employs a 'living Qur'an' approach using qualitative methods through TikTok content observation, in-depth interviews with five informants, and document analysis. The findings reveal a significant gap between the interpretations of classical and contemporary scholars and those of TikTok users. While traditional exegetes interpret this verse as an affirmation of God's omnipotence in creation, some TikTok users view it as a formula to attract love, fulfill desires, or even as a tool for revenge. The transmission of such understanding occurs through spiritual networks rooted in Sufi teachings which then undergo a transformation in meaning and practice as they spread through social media.
