Abstract

Muaragembong coastal topography is classified as a sloping topography, which allows water from the Java Sea to more easily enter the mainland when sea level rises. As a result of the tidal flood, it is very important to know the level of community knowledge about preparedness attitudes so that if there is a tidal flood, the community is more ready to save themselves. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the coastal community's tidal flood preparedness in the sub-district of Muaragembong, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The approach used is cross sectional, which is measuring data only at one time, but that does not mean that the measurements are only carried out on the same day or time, but that the variables are measured only once, so there is no follow-up on the variables studied. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling with a total sample of 121 respondents. There are 48 respondents who have a good level of knowledge have a good level of preparedness, while 20 respondents with a low level of knowledge have a low level of preparedness. Knowledge is the main factor of tidal disaster preparedness. The results of the relationship between knowledge and preparedness for tidal floods have a value of p = 0.000 (p<0.05) so that there is a relationship between knowledge and preparedness for tidal floods, besides that it can be said that if the level of knowledge is good, the level of disaster preparedness is also good.

Abstract

This article is the result of community service activities that aim to increase adolescent knowledge in social research, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic. The form of activity is in the form of webinars which are expected to be one solution to overcome the low interest of adolescents in social research. This community service activity was carried out in the youth scientific group (KIR) of SMAN 24 which consisted of 15 student members. The webinar activity was carried out in two sessions of material, among others about the urgency of social research and types of social research. The material is provided with an interactive lecture and discussion model so that the activities are two-way. Data collection was carried out in the form of an open questionnaire and pre-test-post-test. Data analysis with descriptive statistics and analysis of answers from open questionnaires. The results of the activity show that KIR member students have understood the urgency of social research and are able to express ideas to be developed into social research. Social research can be a positive activity for teenagers during a pandemic as a medium for self-development. In conclusion, this activity has been able to increase students' knowledge and understanding in social research. In addition, this activity has also developed critical thinking skills. ABSTRAK Artikel ini merupakan hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja dalam penelitian sosial terutama di masa pandemic Covid 19. Bentuk kegiatan berupa webinar yang diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi rendahnya minat remaja dalam penelitian sosial. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada kelompok ilmiah remaja (KIR) SMAN 24 yang terdiri dari 15 siswa anggota. Kegiatan webinar dilaksanakan dalam dua sesi materi antara lain tentang urgensi penelitian sosial dan jenis - jenis penelitian sosial. Materi diberikan dengan model ceramah interaktif dan diskusi agar kegiatan bersifat dua arah. Pengumpulan data dilakukan berupa angket terbuka dan pre test-post test. Analisis data dengan statistik deksriptif dan analisis jawaban dari angket terbuka. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan siswa anggota KIR telah memahami urgensi penelitian sosial dan mampu mengungkapkan ide untuk dikembangkan ke dalam penelitian sosial. Penelitian sosial dapat menjadi kegiatan positif bagi remaja pada saat pandemi sebagai media pengembangan diri. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini telah mampu menigkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa dalam penelitian sosial. Selain itu kegiatan ini juga telah mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe academic procrastination in completing thesis for Social Sciences Education Study Program students, Jakarta State University class of 2017 – 2018, (2) Describe the factors that cause academic procrastination in completing thesis for Social Science Education Study Program students, Jakarta State University class of 2017 – 2018. This research was conducted in Building K, Social Sciences Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. The research method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The subjects in this study were 10 respondents. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Student academic procrastination behaviour in the completion of thesis can be seen from several aspects such as perceived time, intention-action gap, emotional distress, and perceived ability. In this study, most students delay in the form of dysfunctional procrastination. (2) Internal factors that encourage students to carry out academic procrastination in completing their thesis are physical conditions and psychological conditions which consist of; intrinsic motivation, self-regulation, self-efficacy, and self-awareness. Then the external factors that encourage students to carry out academic procrastination in completing thesis are parents upbringing, environmental conditions, work, friends, and organization.

Aisah Indriani, The Effects of Conformity on Thrift Shopping Purchase Decisions Among Students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. Thesis. Jakarta: Social Science Education Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, 2023. This study aims to determine the effects of conformity on thrift shopping purchase decisions among students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. This research uses a quantitative method with purposive sampling technique. The research was conducted with the condition that the respondents are thrift shopping consumers and active students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University. The sample obtained was 95 students out of a population of 125 students. Based on the t-test results, the calculated t-value of 4.928 is greater than the t-table value of 1.989, which means there is an influence of conformity on thrift shopping purchase decisions among students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Jakarta State University, with a low level of influence.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the level of slum conditions in Cengkareng Subdistrict and identify suitable upgrading alternatives to address the situation. The assessment method used is scoring/weighting based on the Guidelines for PU Cipta Karya to measure the level of slum conditions, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine slum upgrading. This strategy is based on best practices taken from the Book of CODI updates with a focus on Community Upgrading Projects published by the Community Organizations Development Institute in Thailand. The study results indicate that there are three levels of slum conditions in Cengkareng Subdistrict, namely, light, moderate, and severe slums. For alternative rejuvenation strategies, on-site upgrading is chosen for low and moderate slum levels, while on-site reblocking is selected for areas with a very severe slum condition.

Abstract

Background: Sukabumi Regency is an area prone to natural disasters in West Java. Its location on the south coast, its mountainous and hilly morphology makes Sukabumi Regency prone to earthquakes, tsunamis and landslides. The aim of this research is to illustrate how geography subjects in schools can be a source of disaster education that supports school-based disaster preparedness. Methods: Using a qualitative approach, this study involved in-depth interviews, observations, and document evaluations at Public Senior High School 1 Warung Kiara, with geography teachers as the main informants. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, verification, and drawing conclusions, with local wisdom-based studies to improve learning materials before validation. Findings: Disaster education in schools plays an important role in improving student preparedness through integration into the geography curriculum, social activities, and mitigation training. Although there are challenges in delivering the material, a geographic literacy-based approach, disaster simulations, and partnerships with stakeholders can strengthen understanding and build a culture of preparedness. In addition, expanding disaster education through extracurricular activities such as scouting and the juvenile red cross can provide students with more in-depth practical experiences. Conclusion: The geography subject plays a crucial role in disaster education by enhancing students' awareness and preparedness for disaster risks. Through theoretical and practical approaches such as disaster simulations, risk mapping, and geographic information systems technology, students develop essential mitigation skills. Integrating multidisciplinary perspectives further strengthens school-based disaster preparedness efforts. Novelty/Originality of this article: The novelty of this research lies in illustrating how geography subjects in schools, combined with extracurricular activities, can effectively support disaster education and preparedness, especially in disaster-prone areas like Sukabumi Regency.

Abstract

Memaknai era revolusi industri 4.0 yang merupakan era transformasi digital maka kegiatan pembelajaran dituntut untuk mengurangi penerapan metode ceramah untuk mentransfer pengetahuan (transfer of knowledge) dan meningkatkan proporsi aktivitas mengonstruksi pengetahuan oleh peserta didik menggunakan media pembelajaran yang inovatif, salah satunya menggunakan media gamifikasi untuk pembelajaran. Berdasarkan fakta di lapangan, tidak semua guru memahami pembuatan media pembelajaran edukatif sebagai media gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran agar mempermudah siswa memahami materi pelajaran dan pembelajaran menjadi menarik dan menyenangkan, sehingga kompetensi guru harus terus diupgrade agar dapat melakukan inovasi dalam pembelajaran. Adapun subjek atau peserta dari kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru dari SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta, sedangkan metode yang digunakan dalam upaya meningkakan kompetensi guru tersebut adalah melalui kegiatan pelatihan kepada guru dalam mengembangkan media gamifikasi untuk pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menyenangkan di era digital. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam dalam mengelola pembelajaran melalui pengembangan dan pengintegrasian media edukatif sebagai gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran serta mampu menumbuhkan motivasi dan kesadaran guru-guru dalam mengemas pembelajaran yang relevan dengan perkembangan teknologi digital dan karakteristik siswa. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan kompetensi peserta dalam hal pengetahuan dan peningkatan keterampilan peserta dalam menggunakan media game online sebagai gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran. Kelebihan pengbdian yang dilakukan adalah dengan simulasi dan pembimbingan langsung sehingga peserta dapat secara langsung mampraktekkan penggunaan media game online yang dapat dijadikan sebagai media gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Joy of Missing Out (JoMO) has become a new lifestyle in the social dynamics of Gen Z students in the current digital era. Unlike Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), JoMO reflects the satisfaction and tranquility felt by individuals when they choose not to engage in social activities or viral trends. This study aims to describe how JoMO emerges as a new lifestyle among Gen Z students at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, and to identify the factors that drive its adoption. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through questionnaires and literature studies. The results show that some students have adopted the JoMO lifestyle by reducing meaningless social involvement, focusing on themselves, and choosing activities that support productivity and mental health. The driving factors include fatigue from social pressure, the desire for a more peaceful life, and limiting exposure to social media.

Abstract

Peningkatan kasus pengangguran di kalangan lulusan sarjana menjadi fenomena yang memprihatinkan akhir-akhir ini. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah rendahnya tingkat adaptabilitas karier. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengaruh dukungan sosial dengan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang diterapkan adalah purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 118 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan kuesioner (angket). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dukungan sosial yang diterima mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta lebih dominan pada informational support yang berupa saran dan informasi dari orang-orang terdekat mengenai prospek pekerjaan sesuai dengan jurusan atau di luar jurusan yang sedang ditempuh. Adapun adaptabilitas karier yang dimiliki mahasiswa Pendidikan IPS, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang paling dominan adalah career concern berupa kesadaran bahwa pilihan yang dijalankan saat ini dapat menentukan masa depannya.
