Abstract

The problem of waste piles that occur in Bakung Landfill, Bandar Lampung City is influenced by demographic and geographic factors. This Open Dumping alternative is no longer feasible to be applied in accordance with Law No. 18 of 2008 because no waste management is carried out so that it can shorten the life of the landfill. The land area of Bakung Landfill, which was built at 14 Ha, has now remained at ± 3.2469 Ha. So research is needed to analyze the right waste management alternatives to optimize the service life of Bakung Landfill, Bandar Lampung City by considering cost and service life scenarios. The results showed that the increasing waste generation in Bandar Lampung City is related to demographic and geographic factors, thus affecting the increase in the area of need for Bakung Landfill in Bandar Lampung City. There are 3 alternatives to waste management that can optimize the service life of the landfill, namely the first Sanitary Lanfdill Alternative with a service life of 3.6 years, second Alternative Waste to Energy method Refuse Derived Fuel with a service life of 6 years and third Alternative Waste to Energy Incineration method with a service life of >10 years.

Abstract

Abstract

Regional development is caused by various factors such as university areas and Toll Gate. Jati Agung District experienced quite rapid development after the operation of the ITERA Campus and the ITERA Kotabaru Toll Gate. Developments were identified from the increase in the number of built-up land in villages around ITERA, namely Way Huwi Village, Banjar Agung Village and Jatimulyo Village. The increase in built-up land in the form of housing is certainly correlated with an increase in population so this needs to be balanced with adequate residential infrastructure. Therefore, this research aims to identify the development of existing residential infrastructure in Jati Agung District, whether it is in line with the development of the area. The identified infrastructure includes road networks, telecommunications, waste, trade, parks and fields, worship, and health. Identification of infrastructure developments is carried out by collecting secondary data from agencies and processing Google Earth image data. The interview method with the South Lampung PUPR Service and village officials was carried out to support the results of secondary data processing. The research results show that there are several quantity of infrastructures that not develop such as garbage dumps (TPS), community health centers, shopping centers whose existing service coverage does not yet cover the study area settlements. There has been a significant development in the quantity of infrastructure such as neighborhood roads, BTS, shops, mosques and pharmacies. Lesson learned from this study is to show the availability of infrastructure that needs to be compared with the infrastructure needs of the region and become input for stakeholders for the provision and improvement of the quality of the infrastructure.

Abstract

Roads play an important role in achieving national development goals, particularly in ensuring equitable development across regions with potential for growth at both regional and national levels. Lampung Province serves as the gateway to Sumatra Island, connecting various other provinces on the island to Java. The province is actively developing its regional potential, especially in the agriculture and plantation sectors. A large portion of these promising sectors, particularly in agriculture and plantations, is concentrated in three regencies: Way Kanan, Tulang Bawang Barat, and North Lampung. To support the development plans of these highly potential regions, the Lampung Provincial Government plans to improve and upgrade road infrastructure in order to boost economic development. This study identifies the financial feasibility of improving and upgrading provincial road infrastructure in Way Kanan, Tulang Bawang Barat, and North Lampung Regencies by using spatial analysis and quantitative analysis of financial feasibility criteria, including calculations of Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Profitability Index (PI), and Payback Period. Based on the analysis, the most feasible alternative road route for development is the Simpang Tulung Randu – Adijaya – Tajab – Sp. Soponyono – Serupa Indah – Negara Ratu – Kotabumi and Serupa Indah – Bumiharjo – Sp. Way Tuba section. Road 1 has the highest IRR at 7.92%, the highest NPV at IDR 614,905,153,799, the highest PI at 2.30, and the fastest Payback Period of 13 years, 9 months, and 11 days.

Abstract

Insufficient street lighting in Sukajadi Village, Central Lampung, increases accident risks and hinders economic activity. This research developed an automatic solar-powered Public Street Lighting (PJU) system using a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) sensor. Stages included survey, design, assembly, testing, installation, socialization, and monitoring. Consequently, an automatic street light was successfully installed at the Sukajadi-Wates Village border, operating automatically with an LDR sensor and solar power. Success was marked by improved lighting, renewable energy use, proper technology function, and community satisfaction. Further development and routine maintenance are recommended for this smart infrastructure's sustainability.

Abstract

‘Kampung kota’ (urban villages) in Indonesia represent informal settlements that emerge organically and unplanned, blending urban living with local cultural identities. Despite their unplanned growth and associated risks, such as flooding, fires, and economic instability, these communities exhibit remarkable resilience through strong social ties, adaptive spatial practices, and cultural continuity. Using urban morphology as an analytical lens, this study examined the resilience and vulnerability of Kampung Cungkeng and Sinar Laut, two coastal Bugis settlements in Bandar Lampung. The morphological changes reveal the development patterns and social and economic data integration within their structure. The research was conducted by field observations, in-depth interviews, and spatial analysis by satellite imagery to study the settlements. Their morphological transformations were examined over decades. The findings reveal how physical adaptations, such as stilt houses and mangrove planting, help mitigate vulnerabilities. Additionally, socio-economic strategies like the multifunctional use of space contribute to reducing risks while preserving cultural heritage. However, unregulated expansion and environmental pressures exacerbate risks, highlighting the need for integrated planning. The findings underscore the dual nature of ‘kampung kota’ as both resilient and vulnerable, offering insights for sustainable urban development. The study’s results contribute to the global discourse on informal urban resilience by highlighting how coastal ‘kampung kota’ can contribute to the world discourse on informal urban resilience through unique spatial adaptations and cultural sustainability
