Abstract

In Indonesia, solid waste has become a problem for municipalities, which could result in hygienic and aesthetically unpleasant issues. The high rate of population growth will have an impact on waste generation since it will change the needs and lifestyles of city dwellers. The collection, transportation, and final disposal of urban solid waste (TPA) require suitable facilities and infrastructure, particularly hefty equipment. Heavy equipment, specifically waste trucks, and heavy digging equipment, plays a significant part in supporting waste management activities. In particular, the Palembang City region is covered in this study's discussion of the productivity of heavy machinery used in waste management, which might begin with the collecting system, transportation system, and heavy equipment employed at the landfill. The study was conducted in Palembang City's Sukarami District, and data was collected by surveying and observing the current condition of the heavy equipment that was already in place, namely in terms of cycle time variables and the volume of waste that was served. The findings of the study indicate that direct communal and direct individual patterns characterize the region's waste-collecting practices. Dump trucks, which are used to transport waste, had a productivity range of 609.98 to 1266.13 kilograms per hour, while bulldozers and excavators had a range of 759.42 to 1166.17 kilograms per hour. This heavy equipment repair recommendation is targeted at bulldozers and excavators since a field investigation reveals that there are now only 2 pieces of bulldozer heavy equipment and 1 unit of excavator heavy equipment available.

Abstract

The hydrological cycle of the South Sumatra region is influenced by the potential flow produced by the Musi River and its tributaries. The quantity of water that is accessible at any given place is never constant and varies with time. The primary input to the river basin simulation model is flow and discharge data, which must be a time series that completely captures the variability of river flow and discharge data in order to accurately depict water availability. Because the Sekanak River is one of the tributaries of the Musi River, the research built a hydrological model that combines rainfall and river discharge to determine the discharge. The monthly rainfall data is processed to obtain the average rainfall during the data analysis step. The modified Penman method is then used to calculate evapotranspiration. The FJ Mock model was used to examine the mainstay discharge. Results of the discharge analysis for the period of 2018 to 2022 using the FJ Mock method show that the largest discharge occurred between March and June, ranging from 0.203 to 0.241 m3/sec. When the calculated discharge and the actual discharge are compared, it can be seen that the minimum discharge happens in August and the maximum discharge typically occurs in March in the actual discharge data.

Abstract

Water runoff is temporarily stored in retention ponds as part of a flood control scheme to avoid major floods. There are currently a number of retention ponds in Palembang City that work to reduce flooding during rainy seasons. Land use is expanding, and water catchment areas are getting smaller as a result. The feasibility of constructing a retention pond in Palembang City's Sukarami District is discussed in this study. The usability, hydrology, and physical environmental aspects of data analysis are the main areas of study. The study of hydrological aspects indicates that the planned retention pond has an area of 6.55 Ha and is capable of accommodating a large water discharge of 0.294 - 0.466 m3/sec for a return period of 50 years. The research also demonstrates the benefits of collecting rainwater runoff and improving environmental aesthetics. The construction process and the presence of this retention pond will have an impact on environmental quality, according to the findings of the study of physical environmental elements.

Abstract

Solid waste management (SWM) is still a big challenge for cities around the world, especially in rapidly developing metropolitan cities in developing countries, one of which is in South Sumatera Province. This province consists of several regencies and cities that already have their own waste management systems. Ogan Ilir Regency is one of the districts that has its own waste management system, but it has not run effectively because the waste retribution has not been optimally implemented. This writing paper aims to analyze potential sources of waste retribution, analyze aspects of willingness to pay and recommend new amounts of waste retribution in accordance with existing circumstances. The research method used is in the form of surveys, observations and interviews with the intended respondents. The new levy analysis is based on Regulation Number 7 of the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs (Permendagri) for 2021. The findings revealed that there were various possible waste retributions emanating from the market sector of IDR 437,635,000, however only IDR 85,144,500 were realized. The willingness to pay study results suggest that education level and income have a large influence on the readiness to pay for waste retribution. The newly obtained levy is IDR 237,922 per ton for the recommended outcomes. The new levy analysis is based on Regulation Number 7 of the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs (Permendagri) for 2021. Abstract

One issue that might lead to environmental disturbances in Indonesia's varied areas is solid waste. It is possible to execute waste management effectively, and one such implementation is the installation of waste transportation. If waste transportation fleet is unable to handle the current waste generation, which may result in waste accumulation, then the problem of transporting waste may arise. In order to address this issue, assistance is required in the form of waste transportation costs. In accordance with the local conditions at the time of the study, this paper analyzes the calculation of waste transportation fees. The collection of information was done to determine how solid waste transportation was currently operating, including the number of vehicles, the distance that went, their rotation, and their carrying capacity. According to the study's findings, the cost of solid waste transportation is Rp. 3,277/km or Rp. 21,257/m3 for armroll trucks and Rp. 5,980/km or Rp. 86,459/m3 for dump trucks. These findings show that the fee for Armroll trucks is higher than the levy for dump trucks. This is because Armroll vehicles have a longer service route and use more fuel.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to discuss the application of multi-sensor network technology for the monitoring of indoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution has become a severe problem that affects public health, especially indoor parking. The indoor air pollution monitoring system will provide information about vehicle exhaust emission levels. We have improved the system to identify six parameters of the vehicles' gas emissions within a different location at once. This research aimed to measure the parameter of Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Hydro Carbon (HC), temperature and humidity, and levels of particulates in the air (PM10). The performance of this system shows good ability to compare the results of measurements of air quality measuring professionals. In this study, we investigated the performance of a custombuilt prototype developed under the android-based application to detect air pollution levels in the parking area. Our objective was to evaluate the suitability of a low-cost multi-sensor network for monitoring air pollution in parking and the other area. The benefit of our approach is that its time and space complexity make it valuable and efficient for real-time monitoring of air pollution.
