Abstract

To communicate with others requires the ability of communicative competence. The communicative competence covers discourse competence, linguistic competence, pragmatic competence, socio cultural competence and lastly actional competence. Pragmatic competence is such a communicative competence which is important to study in order to fill the gap among the speakers, especially students of English as a foreign language. The gap among the speakers of different languages can be decreased by the study of speech act in various languages and perspectives. The focus of this study is the analysis of pragmatic study that focuses on promising speech act delivered by Students of English as a Foreign Language of Universitas Negeri Semarang. The objectives of his study are concentration on analysing the realization of promising speech act by the students, the probable factors that influence the students in realizing promising speech act, how those factors influence students to realize a promise and what dominant strategy used by the students. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The source data of this research is document. In order to collect the data, there are two methods used in this research; DCT and Role play methods. The types in analysing the data are transcribing, coding, classifying and interpreting. The subjects of the research are 20 students of English as a Foreign Language of Universitas Negeri Semarang at sixth and eighth semester. There are 480 utterances of promising speech act produced by the students from the DCT and Role play data elicited. Based on the analysis, the study reveals that the students applied future action, promise-to-act and predictive assertion strategy to realize the promise. The probable factors that influence students to realize the promise are distance, dominance and imposition. Actually, those factors (distance, dominance and imposition) are not primary factors that impose the students in realizing the promise. Some situations with different combination of social parameters deliver different strategy. The different combination of the three factors in situation given and interference of students’ native language and pragmatic transfer in the language learning process also affects the respondents in realizing a promise strategy. The dominant strategy used by the students is future action strategy.

Abstract

Lecturers must create innovative and engaging learning experiences that encourage students to actively participate in all aspects of the learning process so that student's academic performance can improve. This study tested the effectiveness of the blind system method assisted by 10astfingers learning media in improving students' performance and engagement. This study used a treatment-by-level design (T-LD). The subject of this study were 73 undergraduate students of business administration at Politeknik Balekambang Jepara. The data were collected through practicum tests and questionnaires. An independent sample test was used for data analysis This study showed that 10fastfingers learning media can improve students' cognitive and psychomotor performance. Thus, this medium is effective as a keyboard learning medium for improving student performance. The results of this study showed that 10fastfingers media were able to increase student participation in learning activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that use of 10fastfingers media can improve academic performance and student engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Product Quality and Hedonic Lifestyle on the Brand Image of Wuling-branded vehicles in the Jepara region. The research employs a survey method with an accidental sampling technique, involving 100 respondents. Data collected includes both primary and secondary sources, analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that an improvement in product quality significantly contributes to Wuling's brand image, with a regression coefficient of 0.386, indicating that a 1% increase in product quality enhances the brand image by 0.386%. Additionally, hedonic lifestyle positively impacts brand image, with a coefficient of 0.210. These results underline the importance of product quality and engaging marketing strategies in attracting consumer interest. The uniqueness of this research lies in its focus on the interaction between product quality and hedonic lifestyle within the context of the automotive market in Jepara, a topic rarely explored in existing literature. This study provides new insights for Wuling manufacturers to formulate more effective marketing strategies while emphasizing continuous attention to product quality to maintain customer loyalty in a competitive market. Consequently, this research not only contributes to marketing theory development but also offers practical implications for Indonesia's automotive industry.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of electronic service quality (e-service quality) and risk perception on customer loyalty at the Indah Cargo Logistik Jepara Branch delivery service. The research method used is a survey with a quantitative approach. The research sample of 100 respondents was obtained through accidental sampling technique. Data analysis uses multiple linear regression. The research results show that both e-service quality and risk perception significantly and positively influence customer loyalty. Good electronic service quality and low risk perception encourage customers to be more loyal to Indah Cargo Logistik delivery services. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.724 indicates that 72.4% of the variation in customer loyalty can be explained by the e-service quality and risk perception variables. This means that these two variables have a fairly strong influence on customer loyalty. The remaining 27.6% of variations in customer loyalty are influenced by other factors not measured in this research

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pemanfaatan aplikasi mobile sebagai sarana untuk memperkenalkan dan melestarikan cerita rakyat Indonesa di kalangan generasi muda. Cerita rakyat Indonesa yang kaya akan nilai budaya dan moral, semakin terpinggirkan oleh perkembangan teknologi dan kurangnya inovasi dalam penyajiannya. pengembangan sebuah aplikas mobile yang menyajikan certa rakyat dalam format interaktif, menggunakan kombinasi teks, suara, dan elemen multimedia lainnya untuk meningkatkan daya tarik dan pemahaman anak-anak terhadap certa tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi desain dan pengembangan aplikasi berbasis mobile yang fokus pada pengalaman pengguna yang menyenangkan dan edukatif. Aplikasi ini dirancang untuk tidak hanya menghibur, tetap juga mendidik anak-anak mengena pentingnya melestarikan budaya Indonesa. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aplikas mobile dapat menjadi media yang efektif dalam memperkenalkan certa rakyat kepada anak-anak, memfasilitas mereka untuk lebih terlibat dalam pembelajaran budaya secara digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa teknologi mobile dapat memankan peran penting dalam pendidikan budaya, memberikan solusi inovatif untuk menyampaikan nilai-nilai tradisonal dengan cara yang lebih relevan dan menarik bagi generasi muda di era digital.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan wawasan awal tentang data dan memandu arah penelitian selanjutnya. Ini membantu dalam mendiskusikan temuan awal dan menetapkan prioritas untuk analisis lebih lanjut tentang item/indicator/dimensi variable digital OCB (D-OCB). Indicator digital OCB merupakan hasil kolaborasi dari indicator OCB yang diadaptasi dari penelitian Organ (1988) dan indikator budaya partisipasi online yang diadaptasi dari penelitian Jenkins Ito (2015).

Abstract

This qualitative case study explores how EFL students perceive and utilize Grammarly as a tool to foster grammar correction autonomy. The study involved ten English Education students from UIN Walisongo Semarang and employed interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis to analyze how students edit their work, depend on tools, and think about their own learning. Findings reveal that students view Grammarly as a confidence-boosting aid that enhances grammatical accuracy and encourages independent revision. Many actively combined Grammarly with peer input, grammar resources, and self-review routines, demonstrating emerging learner autonomy. However, challenges such as excessive reliance, vague feedback, and emotional frustration hindered more profound engagement. The study concludes that Grammarly can support grammar autonomy when learners utilize it critically and educators provide reflective guidance, suggesting that students require pedagogy that balances digital support with self-regulated learning.
