Abstract

This study aims to identify and explain the strategies of school principals in implementing a character-based curriculum at MA Darussa’adah Cot Tarom. It also describes the process of character curriculum implementation within the school environment. This qualitative research employed data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and document analysis. The participants included the principal, teachers, and students. The findings indicate that the principal plays a strategic role in planning, implementing, and evaluating character education. Strategies applied include integrating Islamic values into the school’s vision, reinforcing religious routines, providing teacher training, building a religious school culture, and conducting ongoing evaluation. The curriculum developed emphasizes not only academic achievement but also the integration of Islamic values to holistically shape student character. This research highlights that character-based curriculum management requires collaborative, participatory, and transformative leadership.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Tahfiz Qur'an program in creating a Qur'ani-based school culture at public junior high schools in North Aceh Regency. The Tahfiz Qur'an program is a strategic effort to foster religious character, noble morals, and Islamic insight among students amid the current moral challenges faced by young generations. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results indicate that the program is implemented through curriculum integration, daily and weekly scheduling, guidance by religious teachers and hafiz, as well as regular evaluations. Its impact is reflected in the formation of an Islamic school culture, shown by habits of reading the Qur'an, increased discipline, and Islamic values in social interactions. The challenges encountered include a shortage of qualified Tahfiz instructors, students’ varying memorization abilities, and time management issues. Solutions applied include teacher training, personal motivation approaches, and collaboration with Islamic boarding schools and parents. This program has proven effective in establishing a Qur'ani culture that is not merely symbolic but practically embedded in everyday school life.

Abstract

In the midst of rapid globalization, preserving local cultural values has become urgent in the world of education. This study aims to describe the principal's innovative strategy in local wisdom-based contextual learning through lipah fruit candy as a learning medium at SD Negeri 12 Samudera, North Aceh. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the principal implemented five main strategies: project-based curriculum application, collaboration with the local community, providing creative space for students, exhibitions and product marketing, and basic entrepreneurial training. This program positively impacts students' creativity, critical thinking skills, learning motivation, and nurtures entrepreneurial spirit. These findings serve as a reference for other schools to develop meaningful local wisdom-based education.
