Abstract

The ability to early detection of stroke in the community is still lacking, causing delays in stroke treatment. This is related to hypertension which is a risk factor for stroke 6 times higher. The intervention given to improve early detection ability is FAST detection which is applied in Indonesian to Ketawa Bisu. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the Mute Laughter method on the ability of early detection of stroke in families with hypertension. Research design Quasi-experimental (Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design). The population is 62 and the sample size is 32 respondents, which are divided into 16 intervention groups and 16 controls using random sampling. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon dan Mann Whitney test. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that Ketawa Bisu had an effect on the early detection ability of stroke in the intervention group (p-value – 0,000) and there was no effect on the control group (p-value = 0,317). The results of the Mann-Whitney test showed that there was a difference in the effect of early detection of stroke in the intervention and control groups (p-value – 0,000). The Ketawa Bisu affects the respondent’s ability because it is in the form of acronyms or abbreviations that are easy to remember, and understand, and clear picture instructions to distinguish between normal and abnormal patients with signs of stroke symptoms. Therefore, as an alternative way of early detection to prevent delays in stroke treatment, it is recommended that people use the Ketawa Bisu method.

Abstract

Chronic disease causes hypertension sufferers to feel lazy to do self-care behavior, this happens because of helplessness and a sense of hopelessness that makes hypertension sufferers unable to control themselves. In each individual there is self-control to focus on the process of controlling individual behavior to lead a healthier life. The design of this study is a correlation with a cross-sectional approach, with a purposive sampling technique, obtained a sample of 64 respondents with a population of 76 respondents. The instruments used in this study were the SCS questionnaire for self-control and the HPB-SCP for self- care behavior. The results showed that half of the respondents (50%) had high self-control. Meanwhile, almost half of the respondents (43.8%) have good self-care behavior. Analysis of spearmen's rank test data p-value 0.000 <0.05 showed that there was a relationship between self-control and self-care behavior in hypertension sufferers in Malasan Village, Durenan District, with a strong relationship category (r = 0.809). This means that the correlation coefficient is positive, the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional. The higher the self-control, the better the self-care behavior in people with hypertension. With the self-control ability possessed by hypertension sufferers, it will have a different effect on self-care behavior. People with hypertension should increase self-control to resist temptations such as unhealthy food or lazy to exercise. It is hoped that people with hypertension will be disciplined in taking medication so that their blood pressure remains normal.

Abstract

Body shaming is an event experienced by a person when an individual is seen as something that is not good and has deficiencies by someone, especially in terms of body posture. Given the enormous impact it has generated, it is necessary to apply positive thinking as an effort to strengthen understanding of positive self-viewing behavior, one form of which is self-affirmation. The purpose of this community service is to provide health education about the importance of a positive mind through self-affirmation when experiencing body shaming. The population is 30 students, consisting of PMR cadres totaling 6 students, and 24 other student members. PMR cadres are selected students from PMR MAN 4 Kediri who will be empowered. The community service instrument uses an observation sheet. The results of the cadres before the intervention had the ability in the adequate category with a mean of 24. After the intervention was given they had the ability in the good category with a mean of 31.4. The results of PMR members before being given the intervention had abilities in the less category with a mean of 13.2. After being given the intervention, they had sufficient ability with a mean of 24. This means that cadres and other PMR members experienced an increase in the ability score to apply self-affirmation as an effort to avoid feelings of body shaming. The results of the analysis showed that there was an increase in scores before and after the intervention for PMR cadres and members. The application of positive thoughts through self-affirmation is able to help form an acceptance process in a person so that it is believed to be able to minimize negative thoughts as a result of the emergence of feelings of body shaming. We recommend that knowledge about the importance of applying self-affirmation in overcoming feelings of body shaming can be disseminated to all school members as an effort to foster positive thinking and maintain mental health.

Abstract

Transfer techniques in evacuating injured victims play an important role in the successful handling of injured cases. This safe transfer technique action is carried out to move the victim to a more comfortable place with a safe technique for both the victim and helper. In the school community, cases of injury are often found, especially musculoskeletal injuries related to sports subject activities. The purpose of this service activity is to provide an introduction and education to PMR members about the technique of moving victims safely through a simulation strategy. The method of implementing this activity is through counseling and simulation involving 25 students from PMR SMAN 1 Kandangan. The implementation of service activities is carried out in 3 sessions, namely: introduction to injury cases through counseling, introduction to techniques for moving injured victims and simulations of how to move victims safely. The result of the service activity was that there was an increase in the knowledge and ability of youth in moving injured victims using safe techniques, namely from some (50%) in the sufficient category (before the activity) increased to almost all (90%) in the good category. Education with a simulation approach can increase adolescents' understanding of techniques for moving victims safely so that they are able to help injured victims by moving them safely. The eduction method with a simulation approach can be used as a medium for conveying information in the management of injury cases.
