There are many conveniences offered by the internet, but the excessive use of it will cause an adverse impact on human health. Internet addiction that occurs from excessive internet use is closely related to mental health disorders such as depression. Objective: To analyze the correlation between internet addiction levels with degree of depression on preclinical students Faculty of Medicine. Methods: This study was an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design conducted on preclinical students Faculty of Medicine Nusa Cendana University by filling in the Young's Internet Addiction Test (YIAT) questionnaire and the Patient Health Questionnaire–9 (PHQ-9). The sampling technique used purposive sampling with 80 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study was analyzed univariately, and bivariately using Spearman test. Results: It was found that from 80 respondents there were 25 respondents (31.3%) with mild internet addiction, 51 respondents (63.8%) with moderate internet addiction, and 4 respondents (5.0%) with severe internet addiction. And from 80 respondents observed, 41 respondents (51.3%) experienced mild depression, 13 respondents (16.3%) experienced moderate depression, 4 respondents (5.0%) experienced severe depression, and 22 respondents (27.5%) were not depressed. The results of the bivariate analysis test in this study obtained p value = 0.000 (p <0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant and a strong correlation between internet addiction levels with degree of depression, which indicates that the higher the level of internet addiction the higher the degree of depression on preclinical students Faculty of Medicine class of 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Low back pain can be caused by bad body activity and wrong position during activities, such as a bad sitting position during activities. Sitting for a long time in the wrong position can cause side effects for students, one of the most common is lower back pain. Research Objectives: Find out the correlation between length and sitting position during online lectures with complaints of low back pain in students of the Faculty of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine Nusa Cendana University. Methods: The research method used is an analytical observational research design with a cross-sectional approach conducted on preclinical students of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana by filling out the Roland-Morris disability questionnaire (RMDQ) and observing sitting position using the Rapid Entire Body Assessment method. (REBA) with 69 respondents from batch 2019, 2020, 2021 who have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research was analyzed by univariate, bivariate using chi square test. Abstract

Background: Metabolic syndrome is a condition in which the formation of a group of metabolic dysregulations occurs, namely insulin resistance, atherogenicdyslipidemia, central obesity, and hypertension. The imbalance between calorieintake and calorie use will result in obesity, where obesity is a major component ofmetabolic syndrome. Physical activity is one of the factors causing metabolic syndrome. Aim: Analyzing the relationship of physical activity to the incidence of metabolicsyndrome in the academic community of Nusa Cendana University. Method: This research method is correlation analytics with Cross Sectional design, which is research used to analyze the relationship between dependent andindependent variables with data collection carried out simultaneously at one time. In this study, data analysis for physical activity was carried out by filling out the GPAQ (Global Physical Activity Questionnaire) questionnaire and for thediagnosis of metabolic syndrome based on the criteria of the Adult Treatment Panel(ATP) III. using Phi Cramer's V test with the variable level of the Bivariate testP<0.05. Results: The test results using the Phi Cramer's V statistical test obtained that therewas no association of physical activity and metabolic syndrome with p = 0.850(p<0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between physical activity and theincidence of metabolic syndrome in the academic community of Nusa Cendana University. Abstract

Background : Neck pain is an uncomfortable and painful feeling on the neck and the upper back. Neck pain are generally known by two definition, spesific neck pain and non spesific neck pain. Non spesific neck pain is caused by an injured muscle, joints, or bone in the neck area due to bad posture. Medical students used smartphones in a long duration for social media activities and learning purposes. Smartphone usage in a long duration with static and non ergonomic body position is one of the factors causing non spesific neck pain. Objective : This research’s objective is to analyze the correlation of duration and position of smartphone usage on preclinical students of The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Nusa Cendana. Methods : This research is an analytical observational research with cross sectional approach. The samples on this research was 179 people that was obtained using stratified random sampling technique. The data was analyzed using Spearman correlation test. Results : Data from 179 respondents showed that 45.8% experienced mild neck pain, 33.0% experienced moderate neck pain, 5.0% experienced severe neck pain and 16.2% did not experience neck pain. For the duration of smartphone use, 97.8% had a high duration of smartphone use, 2.2% had a moderate duration of smartphone use and none had a low duration of smartphone use. For the position of smartphone use, 1.1% have a very high risk level, 7.8% have a high risk level, 91.1% have a medium risk level and none have a low risk level. The results of the bivariate analysis with the Spearman correlation test showed p value = 0.162 for the relationship between the duration of smartphone use and neck pain, and p = 0.538 for the relationship between the position of smartphone use and neck pain. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between duration and position of smartphone usage on preclinical students of The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Nusa Cendana

Menstrual disorders, one of which is Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), are still Indonesia's most common health problem. PMS symptoms appear during the luteal phase that occurs 7-14 days before menstruation. During premenstrual syndrome, there will be a hormonal imbalance that can cause insomnia. Insomnia is difficulty sleeping, difficulty maintaining sleep (frequent awakenings at night), or waking up too early accompanied by drowsiness during the day, as well as poor sleep quality that occurs at least three times a week for a month. Insomnia can interfere academic performance of students. This study aims to analyze the relationship between PMS and insomnia in Medical students of Universitas Nusa Cendana. The research design used cross-sectional, and it was attended by 137 medical students of Universitas Nusa Cendana who were selected with total sampling. Data collection online used The Shortened Premenstrual Assessment Form (SPAF) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Symptom Questionnaire-Insomnia (PSSQ_I). The data analysis used is the Chi-Square test. There was a significant relationship between PMS and insomnia in medical students of Universitas Nusa Cendana, with a p-value of 0.000.

Abstract

Obesity is a condition characterized by an imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure over an extended period. Obesity and overweight are generally caused by unhealthy lifestyles, high sugar and fat dietary patterns, and lack of physical activity. Insufficient exercise is directly associated with an increase in Body Mass Index (BMI), a condition commonly found among employees and lecturers within university environments. A preliminary survey conducted by the Health Promoting University (HPU) reported that 58.5% of respondents at Nusa Cendana University do not engage in regular exercise, while data from the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) showed that 13.6% of Indonesians over the age of 18 are obese. One effective management strategy for overweight and obesity is walking exercise, which can increase basal metabolic rate through ATP combustion, lipogenesis, and muscle mass enhancement, leading to higher heat production and resulting in weight reduction. This study aimed to examine the effect of walking exercise on BMI among overweight and obese employees at Nusa Cendana University. A quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design was applied, involving 20 participants in the intervention group and 20 in the control group. The results showed a significant change in BMI in the intervention group (p = 0.034) based on a paired sample t-test. It is concluded that walking exercise has a significant effect on reducing BMI among overweight and obese employees at Nusa Cendana University.
