Abstract

Activities to hone writing skills at MTsN 1 Mukomuko are still not widely implemented. In order to get students interested in writing learning activities using engaging learning materials, creative and innovative learning is required because they still struggle with writing skills and have poor writing structures. Audiovisual media is media that can display image and sound elements. The combination of these two elements is what makes audiovisual media have better capabilities. The purpose of this study is to identify the elements that encourage and discourage using audiovisual materials to teach writing persuasive essays. In order to make learning more successful, a variety of videos about persuasive text material are shown in the media. Additionally, because the media is very engaging for students, learning becomes more dynamic. This kind of study uses a qualitative descriptive method and is classified as qualitative research. Students in Class VIII A and Indonesian language teachers served as the research's subjects and informants. Techniques for gathering data included documentation, interviewing, and observation. Additionally, data reduction, data display, and conclusion-making are the steps in data analysis. The study's findings demonstrate how MTsN 1 Mukomuko's VIII A class has adopted the use of audiovisual materials to teach students how to create persuasive texts. Up till now, there has been an implementation of teaching persuasive text writing through audiovisual medium.

Abstract

This research uses a song as a research object. In the song, there are some words known as lyrics that contain a message. Through the song lyrics, the writer conveys ideas, thoughts, and feelings. This research aims to describe the form and meaning of figurative language style. This research applied Library Research with a qualitative approach and content analysis was applied as a method. The data were collected by using literature techniques, observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, data validity techniques used in this study increase persistence and references. Based on the results of the research in song lyrics on the album “Tanpa Aku” the writer found that there were seven types of figurative language styles with twenty-five forms of figurative language styles. Moreover, the writer found twenty-five forms of figurative language meaning in seven kinds of language style.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the form and symbolic meaning of the Temu Nganten tradition in the Javanese community of Tanjung Rasa Hamlet, Tanjung Harapan Village, Ulok Kupai District, Bengkulu Utara Regency, Bengkulu Province. This tradition is part of the series of rituals in Javanese traditional wedding ceremonies, involving various media and imbued with cultural symbols and values. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research collects data through interviews, observations, and documentation to understand the visual elements and deeper meanings of the Temu Nganten tradition. The findings reveal that the Temu Nganten tradition encompasses verbal symbols such as the chanting of Shalawat Asyraqal and Kebo Ghiro, as well as non-verbal symbols such as the balangan sirih ritual, stepping on an egg (pidhak hantiga), sindur, sembah sungkem, and dahar klimah. These symbols reflect values of loyalty, harmony, respect, and readiness to start a harmonious married life for the couple. This study emphasizes the importance of preserving the Temu Nganten tradition as part of the cultural identity of the Javanese community and as an effort to safeguard the continuity of local cultural heritage amid ongoing modernization.

Abstract

This study aims to describe in detail the planning, enactment, and evaluation of an outdoor-study approach for the explanatory-text unit in Bahasa Indonesia instruction, and to identify the enabling and constraining factors that condition its success in a typical Indonesian public junior high school. Using a descriptive qualitative bounded case design focused on one intact class (Grade VIII-A, SMPN 13 Bengkulu), fieldwork spanned two Plan–Act–Observe–Reflect cycles (January–March 2022). Data sources comprised participant observation, lesson artefacts (observation sheets, drafts, rubrics), peer reviews, teacher feedback, and semi-structured interviews, and were analysed with Miles and Saldaña’s iterative procedures of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing; trustworthiness was supported through triangulation, audit trails, member checks, and prolonged engagement. Based on research results, two key findings emerged. First, when structured by explicit objectives, focused observation instruments, annotated text modelling, and iterative feedback cycles, outdoor study substantially improved students’ rhetorical organisation, cohesion, use of technical vocabulary, and causal reasoning in explanatory writing. Second, effectiveness was enabled by careful task design, active teacher facilitation, and targeted language scaffolding, yet constrained by weather/time disruptions, uneven participation, documentation distractions, and limited vocabulary; these challenges were mitigated through time-boxing, role rotation, a no-face photo policy, and consistent rubric use, thereby stabilising writing quality across cycles. Overall, outdoor study functions not as a recreational supplement but as an evidence-based pedagogical strategy aligned with national curriculum demands, offering a replicable pathway for strengthening explanatory writing and causal reasoning while informing teacher practice and school-level design.

Abstract

Karya sastra memiliki peran penting dalam merepresentasikan realitas sosial, budaya, dan psikologis, sekaligus menjadi sarana refleksi terhadap berbagai bentuk ketidakadilan dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis representasi konflik sosial dan gender dalam novel Rumah untuk Alie melalui perspektif sosiologi sastra. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada identifikasi bentuk diskriminasi, marginalisasi, stigma sosial, serta ketimpangan gender yang dialami tokoh utama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik studi pustaka, memanfaatkan data primer dari isi novel dan data sekunder dari literatur pendukung. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan secara interaktif, disertai verifikasi melalui triangulasi sumber dan teori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konflik sosial direpresentasikan melalui stigma, kekerasan verbal, dan keterasingan tokoh utama, sedangkan konflik gender tampak melalui dominasi patriarki, ekspektasi sosial terhadap perempuan, dan penempatan tokoh utama pada posisi subordinat. Kedua bentuk konflik ini saling berkaitan, di mana ketidakadilan gender memperkuat konflik sosial, sementara konflik sosial menegaskan ketimpangan peran dan relasi kuasa.

Abstract

Bahasa sebagai alat komunikasi antar manusia digunakan hampir tanpa batas dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Bahasa yang digunakan dalam masyarakatpun bervariasi. Hal ini sangat nyata terlihat dalam kehidupan masyarakat ketika menggunakan bahsa daerah masing-masing. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk dapat mendeskripsikan upaya masyarakat Desa Limbur Baru dalam pemertahanan bahasa Rejang sebagai wujud identitas mereka sebagai suku Rejang dan dapat mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor pendukung dan faktor penghambat pemertahanan bahasa Rejang sebagai wujud identitas Masyarakat Desa Limbur Baru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dengan melakukan Observasi kepada Kepala Desa, tokoh adat, tokoh agama dan warga desa dengan cara wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu, masyarakat Desa Limbur Baru, Kecamatan Muara Kemumu, Kabupaten Kepahiang, Provinsi Provinsi Bengkulu, diantaranya yaitu tokoh adat, tokoh agama, pemerintahan desa, dan masyarakat biasa. Sedangkan objek dalam penelitian ini yaitu, upaya pemertahanan bahasa Rejang yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Limbur Baru.Teknik keabsahan data yaitu triangulasi sumber dengan cara penegecekan data yang diperoleh. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan peneliti kepada masyarakat Desa Limbur Baru.

Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran 3M dalam menulis teks eksplanasi dan mendeskripsikan hasil menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VIII SMPIT IQRA’ Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah siswa mampu memahami teks eksplanasi setelah dilakukan penerapan model pembelajaran 3M dalam menulis teks eksplanasi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah rata-rata siswa mampu memahami materi dengan baik. Selain itu, dari data yang didapatkan bahwa hasil menulis siswa mampu menulis teks eksplanasi tetapi tulisan siswa masih sederhana, karena siswa kesulitan mengembangkan ide dan merangkai kata.
