Abstract

Ethnomathematics is the study of how mathematics is related to culture and people's daily lives. In this research, researchers used a descriptive exploratory method with an ethnographic approach. They are looking for information about mathematical concepts contained in the buildings and ornaments of the Al-Akbar Mosque of Surabaya. Several data collection techniques used include literature study, observation, and documentation. The research results show that in the buildings and ornaments of the Al-Akbar Mosque of Surabaya, there are various plane shapes (such as ellipses, squares, circles, and rectangles) and spatial shapes (such as pyramids and tubes). This research can provide a deeper understanding of how mathematical concepts are reflected in the culture and artistic architecture of religious buildings such as mosques.Keywords: Ethnomathematics, Al-Akbar Mosque of Surabaya, Geometry

Abstract

Each student  has different  level of understanding. Most of them have different knowledge, especially in mastering  science of  sharia economics. Sharia economics is very different, of course, from conventional economics.  A lot of  them better understand or are more familiar with conventional-based economic terms.  Sharia  economics or the study of  mu'amalah  still feels unusual to them. The problems that occur to students STAI Muhammadiyah Probolinggo show that there are differences in attitudes and behavior in implementing sharia economic activities with mastery of sharia economic material in class. This study examines extent of  insight and mastery of sharia economics in sharia economics students in each of their economic activities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, which is a method that aims to describe the nature of something that is ongoing  in time  the research  conducted  and examines the causes of a symptom. The data collection technique obtained by the author is through observation and interview techniques. This research data obtained  from the first semester of  Islamic  economics students. The results showed that students had a high enthusiasm and curiosity in learning and mastering economics, eager to try something new, especially in the field of  Islamic  economics, most of them wanted to carry out more  Islamic  economic activities, although some still use  Islamic  economics, conventional, wants  to be  more active and learn deeper about sharia economic norms, values, and principles has good economic insight because they understand that conventional banks considered  to have a threat of usury in them even though they are still selected, have insight and knowledge about  Sharia  economics and able to apply it in their daily activities, They still not mastered  Islamic  economics related to more technical matters, such as analyzing business risk and business management. Meanwhile,  the students' implementation of   sharia economic insight that carried  out by students is going well, it  can be  seen from the variety of sharia-based business, inviting the closest family to do business  of sharia-based and starting to carry out activities in sharia banking. Students are also able to  show  the implementation of  basic insights and understanding of high sharia economics because they are able to refrain from spending wealth just for pleasure but the orientation is for their own benefit.

Abstract

In this research, we will discuss about quinary semiring and properties of its special subsets. This concept is a generalization of ternary semiring. If ternary semiring only involves 3 elements in multiplication operation, then in quinary semiring there are 5 elements involved. The method in this research is a literature study on articles in international journals. In        this research, some definitions and properties of quinary semiring and some ideals are given, such as prime ideal, completely semiprime ideal, ideal which has insertion property, and prime radical. In addition, special subsets of quinary semiring are defined by  and . Next, we give some properties of these special subsets.

Abstract

Fractional derivative is a generalization of ordinary derivative with non-integer or fractional order. This research presented fractional derivative of hyperbolic function (hyperbolic sine, hyperbolic cosine, hyperbolic tangent, hyperbolic cotangent, hyperbolic secant, and hyperbolic cosecant) with order constraint . The hyperbolic function is presented in Maclaurin series form. Then, the fractional derivative can be determined by using definition of Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative. The result is simulated by using Matlab software

Abstract

Dimensi metrik dari graf terhubung G adalah kardinalitas dari himpunan pembeda minimum dari G, dimana W disebut himpunan pembeda dari G jika  r(v|W) berbeda untuk setiap v elemen V(G) . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan dimensi metrik dari graf jaring laba-laba R_(m,n). Graf jaring laba-laba dikonstruksi dari graf bintang S_n  sebanyak  1 dan graf sikel C_n  sebanyak m. Konstruksi graf tersebut melibatkan definisi dari C_n(m) yang menyatakan graf sikel C_n ke-m , dengan V(C_n(m))={a_(m1), a_(m2), a_(m3), ..., a_(mn)} dan V(S_n)={u, a_(m1), a_(m2), a_(m3), ..., a_(mn)}   dengan  u sebagai titik pusatnya, dimana m elemen N dan n>3 . Dari hasil penelitian, diperoleh  dimensi metrik dari graf jaring laba-laba R_(m,n) adalah 3.

Abstract

In this research, we introduce a new concept of 2-primal quinary semiring and its characterizations by utilizing special subsets. This concept is a generalization of 2-primal ternary semiring. The method of this research is a literature study on scientific articles in international journals. This research starts from concept of quinary semiring and some its ideals, then continues by studying the basic concept of 2-primal quinary semiring, including weakly and strongly nilpotent sets. Next, we define some special subsets of quinary semiring, and then provide some of their properties. Through this special subsets, we provide characterizations of 2-primal quinary semiring.

Abstract

Cyclic codes were discovered by Prange in 1957. They have served as the foundation for the development of modern coding theory, such as Hamming codes, Golay codes, Reed-Solomon codes, and others. Cyclic codes are closely related to generator polynomials of a polynomial ring. This research uses a literature review method using relevant international articles and books. The research will revisit several aspects of Ling and Xing's work on generator polynomial of ideal in polynomial ring and its relevance to cyclic code. Furthermore, detailed explanations will be provided along with several examples.

Abstract

Ternary semiring was first introduced by Dutta dan Kar in 2003. Ternary semiring is a generalization of ternary ring. Ternary semiring is an algebraic structure consisting of a nonempty set together with a binary operation, called addition and a ternary multiplication, which forms a commutative monoid relative to binary addition, monoid relative to ternary multiplication, and the left, lateral, and right distributive laws hold. In this research, we use method of literature study on article which have published in international journal. In this research, we study more several parts of research from Dutta and Mandal about 2-primal ternary semirings, but will focus only on ternary semiring, including some ideals, prime radical, nilpotent element, super nilpotent ternary semiring, and 2-primal ternary semiring. Next, a more detailed discussion will be provided and accompanied by several examples using sets of matrices.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Avian Influenza spread model around the equilibrium point. The population discussed is the poultry population which consists of two sub-populations, namely susceptible and infective. The method used is literature study through reference books and scientific articles related to the models. Then, the mathematical model, equilibrium point, and model stability were calculated. The results of calculations were made into a simulation model using Matlab and Maple software. It was found that there was an Avian Influenza virus spread to the poultry population which was influenced by several factors, namely birth, natural death, death due to infection, and migration (movement).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the characterizations of 2-primal ternary semiring using special subsets of ternary semiring. We use literature review method to achieve these aims. We define O^' (P) and O_P^', the special subsets of ternary semiring then we determine some properties of them. We also determine the condition for O(P) and O_P in order to the special subsets are ideals of S. The last, the special subsets of ternary semiring will be used to determine the characterizations of 2-primal ternary semiring. As the results, some the characterizations were S must be a commutative super nilpotent ternary semiring and O(P)=(O(P) ) or each prime ideal P of S. Besides that, O(P)=O_P=N(P) and O_P^' must has the IFP for each prime ideal P of S.
