Abstract

American Idiot is a song with sosial-politic theme by American rock band, Green Day. This research aims to: First, find out the meaning of denotation on American Idiot song lyric. Second, find out the meaning of connotation on American Idiot song lyric. Third, find out the meaning of myth on American Idiot song lyric. Fourth, find out people’s viewpoint about social and politic in America on American Idiot song lyric.Method of this resesearch is qualitative research method with Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach. Data was collected through documentation (American Idiot song lyric), observation, and interview. Data analysis unit in this research consist of 16 lyrics line on the song American Idiot. In this research people’s viewpoint came from interview result with three informants who choose using purposive technique.Result of this research indicate that: First, according to denotation meaning represented appearing of a hysteria or over reaction from American society relate to information from media. Second, according to connotation meaning represented that informations from the media is a propaganda. Third, according to myth meaning represented that there is changing on social and politic of American society after the 9/11 tragedy. Next thing indicate that there is a discrimination to homesexual in America. Futhermore there is a sentiment beetwen people in North and South America relate to negative stereotype toward people in the South. Fourth, from people’s view point indicate that whole informant’s opinion support and suitable with result of this research.Key Words: Representation, Semiotic, Barthes’ Semiotic, American Idiot Song Lyric.

Abstract

The development of the mass media both print and electronic media will bring many changes in society. The most dominant media is television. Private television stations compete to present the best show for the audience. One of them is a documentary program travel and lifestyle My Trip My Adventure served TransTV.The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive. Data collection techniques in this study using a questionnaire. The sample for this study as many as 96 respondents and using purposive sampling techniques with the unknow population formula. Data analysis techniques used is a simple linear regression analysis by using SPSS 23. The theory used in this study is S-O-R Theory, (Stimulus, Organism, Response), show that communication is a process of action-reaction which causes directional effect, immediately and directly to the communicant.The result of research show that the thitung > ttabel (4,723 > 1,985) with significance 0,05, means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that there is the influence of My Trip My Adventure impressions on Teenage’s interest traveling in Youth Organization Airputih Village on Tampan Subdistrict, with a coefficient of determination 19,2%, meaning that variable My Trip My Adventure impressions can only affect variable teenage’s interest traveling 19,2% and the rest is influenced by other variable which was not included in this study.

Abstract

Province is known for its environmental problems. Environmental journalism is needed to inform solution. Practic of environmental journalism is doing by Green Radio 96,7 fm Pekanbaru. The preaching of green environmental solution is a priority of Green Radio 96,7 FM Pekanbaru. The existance of this radio culminates in receiving an award from KPID award, which is that Majalah Udara program won the best news of radio Riau in 2016. These achievements certainly cannot be separated from how the process they taking in producing environmental news. One of the interisting reports as a result of the function of deforestation is the news of Jernang. The plants can only grow if the forest is still natural. The research is aiming to see the process of environmental journalism and constraints on the news.This study used qualitative methods of quantitave methods with observation data collection techniques, interviews, and documentation. Data obtained then being processed to be inducted, presented to a public conclution. The informer in this study is five people. The validity of research using an extension of participation and tringulation.The result of this research are, the first news reports live the location and grow and plant breeding plants and news sources are the people of the forests. The process of editing is done by a program in which the publisher used dubbing process, adapting the paragraph so that it does not over 10 minutes, reprocessing the reporter’s data insert, and insert the scene of coverage location. An evaluation of the rapids will be made to write a persona of the many angles. Planning of the news program doesn’t have a clear rundown and deadline. The second is breaking news coverage is the lack of resources and the location of coverage that inhibits the follow up process.

Abstract

Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Programa 1 Pekanbaru has popular program of community empowerment that is Kampung Radio. by the strong competition and rapid development of society, RRI seeks to present information about the problems and potentials that exist in the community environment, with expecation of society to more sensitive and get the initiative to become a more independent society. Thus this study aims to find out how the management of production on broadcasting Kampung Radio of Radio Republik Indonesia Pro 1 Pekanbaru in empowering the society of Pekanbaru.This research uses qualitative method. The object of research is the production management program broadcast kampung radio of radio republic Indonesia pro 1 Pekanbaru in empowering people of Pekanbaru city. Research subjects consist of planning team, show director, presenter and two listeners or community involved in production, determined by purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation.The results of this study show that RRI implements 4 stages in production management of broadcast radio program, First, Planning, including location planning, content / topic planning and cost planning. Second, Organizing. For all working relatives in charge placed in accordance with their respective expertise. Thirdly, Actuating is the whole work relative in accordance with the task specified in the program meeting. Fourth, Controlling. The supervision is divided into three phases: initial supervision conducted before broadcasting, middle supervision, supervision during broadcasting and final supervision. All series of processes is a form of production management process of broadcasting of radio program in the empowerment of urban community Pekanbaru.Keywords: Management, Radio, Production, Broadcasting

Abstract

Work professionalism is an important component needed by a professionalworker to improve and maintain the quality and quantity of work. In many opinions andtheories, professionalism is supported by several things including professional ethics init. This ethic serves to enable professional workers to know what is appropriate andinappropriate. So that professional workers can work in accordance with social valuesand standard rules of his profession. With so needed knowledge about code of ethics inorder to maintain profesionalism. Therefore, this study aims to determine therelationship between the level of knowledge about the Code of Ethics Journalism WithWorking Professionalism Journalist Indonesia (PWI) Working Group Pekanbaru.The method used in this research is quantitative with correlational approach.The data were collected using questionnaires. The research was conducted inPersatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Kelompok Kerja Pekanbaru. The sample in thisstudy amounted to 86 respondents. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling.The analysis test used in this research is simple linear regression analysis and toprocess the questionnaire data, done by using program SPSS for Windows version 23.The results obtained from simple linear regression analysis in this study is thelevel of knowledge about the code of ethics journalism has a relationship withprofessionalism work of 45.4%. With a percentage of knowledge level of 67.5%, andprofessionalism of 58%.Keywords: Profesionalism, Knowledge level, Journalist.

Abstract

Denotation conotation meaning, myth of javanese woman in 6th on 12 november magazine cover of Wanita Indonesia purpose in to know about meaning and analizing of semiotics Rolland Barthes on Susi Pudjiastuti an minister of marine and fisheries.The method that used in this research is qualitative method by semiotics Rolland Barthes as analyse presentation that expressed the symbol that will have to recognize by denotation meaning, conotation and myth. The perpose of this research to describe what happening, in this case, the researcher tried to describe,write, analyse and interpretate the conditions that happened. In tending to use the text data in subjective fom.The results of this research is the meaning of javanese blouse that combined of batik fabric that expressed minister Susi Pudjiastuti as a figure of javanese women who had the leadership. Based on the data, it had corietation in each meaning between the objects that supported the costume of minister Susi Pudjiastuti inauguration the conclution explained the image of minister Susi Pudjiastuti in cover of Wanita Indonesia magazine with good editing by editorial team of Wanita Indonesia magazine, minister Susi Pudjiastuti has shown a beautiful and creative fugure of javanese woman, in cover and articles of Wanita Indonesia magazine.Keyword : Java Women, Tabloid, and Rollad Barthes Thoery

Abstract

Khazanah Trans7 is one of the educative and informative programs that provide important and interesting information related to the Islamic world. Impressions containing excerpts and illustrations relating to the theme shown and accompanied by verses of al-quran and hadithThis research uses qualitative descriptive method, while the object of the research is the production of Khazanah Program 7 Trans and the subject of research includes employees who are members of the Khazanah production team. Data collection techniques used were interview, observation and also documentation.The results of this study show Khazanah apply 4 stages in the production management program, namely: First, Planning (Planning), including content planning, cost, means, and time. Second, Organizing (Organizing) For the entire team on duty placed in accordance with the expertise of each respectively. Third, Pengarahanyang conducted is to provide direction to the team in the production and post production. Fourth, Controlling The supervision is divided into three phases: supervision of material conducted before the coverage process, supervision at the time of production and supervision at the time of pre production. Abstract

ABSTRACTWaste management is an activity in waste reduction and handling that is systematic, continous and thorough. The state of good and health environmental in acollege is needed as carrying comfort in learning. The state of a clean and healthy environment is determined by the behavior of individuals who materialized in the form of knowledge, attitudes and actions. The purpose of this study to determine the correlation between knowledge level of student with attitudes of waste management in Medical Faculty of Riau University . This type of research was analytic survey with cross sectional approach. Samples in this reseacrh were 90 respondents from population students of Medical Faculty of Riau University.The data that were collected using a questionnaire to assess knowledge and attitudes. The results of this study, obtained that 44 students (48,9%) had a good knowledge and 65 students (72,2%) had a neutral stance. From the statistical test result was obtained that p=0,971 for the correlation with the students knowledge of waste management attitude.Keywords: Knowledge, attitudes, waste management

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor derived from primary squamous epithelial cells that grow on the surface of the epithelial or outer layer of the cervix, and is caused by virus infections Human Papiloma Virus (HPV). One of the given therapy on patients of cervical cancer is radiotherapy. Radiotherapy is done by people with cervical cancer that can affect the quality of life of the respondent which can be assessed by using the WHOQOL questionnair. The purpose of this research is to know the description of the quality of life of patients with cervical cancer undergoing radiotherapy. This research is descriptive research with cross sectional approach implemented in June 2014. There are 31 people with cervical cancer undergoing radiotherapy. From this research found the age of respondents in the age group 40-49 years 50-59 years and the age group 60-69 years were relatively the same lot. The majority of respondents were Malays (58,06 percent). Most respondents were the PRIMARY education (38,80). Most respondents work was as the IRT (90,32 per cent). The respondents underwent radiotherapy most within > 5 weeks (100%). On cervical cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy at the PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL Arifin Achmad Riau Province found the quality of life in both categories as much as 61,30%.Key word: cervical cancer, radiotherapy , quality of life

Abstract

ABSTRACTAbout 50%-70% of case that come to a hospital especially to the emergency room are physical trauma or injuries cases. The quality of VeR service directly reflect medicolegal services in hospital because it has broad impact juridical and can determine one’s fate. This research were done to find out the quality of VeR of injury in Rokan Hulu General Hospital during 1 January 2009-31 December 2013. This is a descriptive retrospective research. It used Herkutantos scoring method. The sample was all of population were the VeR data in Rokan Hulu General Hospital during 1 January 2009-31 December 2013 that were complete and has been signed by the doctor who did the examination. It had been gotten 292 VeR reports in Rokan Hulu General Hospital during 1 January 2009-31 December 2013. Injury survivors most cases are in the age group 22-40 years old as many as 177 victims (60,6%). The overview of the living victims were most frequent male was 171 victims ( 58,6%) and the most frequent violence that were experienced by the victims were blunt violence was 267 VeR (91,4%) with the highest age group 22-40 years old. About 80% showed good quality in preliminary unit of VeR, 69,54% showed medium quality in reporting unit and about 49,31% also showed medium quality in inference unit. It can be concluded that quality of VeR reports in Rokan Hulu General Hospital during 1 January 2009-31 December 2013 was 58,82% which was mean it was medium quality.Keywords: Visum et Repertum, injury, the quality of Visum et Repertum of injury
