Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the discovery learning paradigm affects the ability to write essays for class XI students of SMA Negeri 9 Padang. The methodology used in this research is explorative. One group participated in the pretest-posttest design selected for this investigation. The sample of this research was F4 class students of SMA Negeri 9 Padang, which consisted of 36 students. The educational tool consists of several sections, such as training modules, workbooks specifically designed to help students improve their essay writing skills, and performance tests to measure students' specific essay writing skills. By using the SPSS 25 for Windows program, data analysis was carried out to find out how the discovery learning paradigm influences student learning outcomes. This distribution is in accordance with the normal distribution, according to the findings of the normality test performed on the pretest data. The average value is calculated to be 60.94, and this result is based on the fact that the significance value (0.078 0.05) is greater than a predetermined threshold. The findings of the posttest data normality test confirm that the distribution is normal. The mean value of 77.77 and a significance level of 0.094, which is higher than the intended cutoff of 0.05, indicates this. The results of the significance test showed that the application of the discovery learning strategy had a statistically significant effect on the ability of class XI students of SMA Negeri 9 Padang in composing essays. This conclusion is reached using a significance level of 0.05 (p 0.05). Thus, it can be stated that the use of discovery learning methodology in eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 9 Padang has a significant effect on their writing ability.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the correlation between the learning preferences and essay writing abilities among 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Padang in class XI F7 for the learning style questionnaire trial and class XI F5 for the learning style questionnaire test and essay writing skill test using a random sample with a total of 32 students. This research employs a quantitative approach utilizing the correlation method to investigate potential associations between the two variables, namely learning style variables and essay writing skills variables. The results of this study are that in the data requirements test, the data normality test and homogeneity test are carried out. The normality test for the two data obtained a value of 0.427> 0.05 for learning style and 0.068> 0.05 for essay writing skills so that the two variables are normally distributed. Furthermore, for the data homogeneity test, a value of 0.218> 0.05 was obtained so that the data was homogeneous. Then, the result of this research hypothesis is 0.002< 0.05, it can be inferred that a connection exists between the learning style and essay writing skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 9 Padang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the ability to write anecdotal texts using image media of grade X students of SMA Negeri 1 Gumanti Valley. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The population of this study was grade X students of SMA N 1 Lembah Gumanti, Solok Regency. The sample of this study was class XE8 students totaling 33 students. The data collection technique in this study was carried out in 1 meeting. The data in this study is the performance score of the ability to write anecdotal texts of grade X students of SMA N 1 Gumanti Valley by Using Image Media. In analyzing the data is done in several steps, First, reading the results of students' work writing anecdotal texts. Second, correct and give scores according to the aspects studied. Third, scoring students' work based on the aspects studied. Based on the data, it can be seen that the ability to write anecdotal texts using Image Media of grade X students of SMA N 1 Gumanti Valley as a whole is classified as Sufficient (C) with an average of 53.79.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how the influence of the use of the Think Talk Write model has on the skills of writing speech texts in Class IX students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research. The method used in this study is the pre-experimental method. The population in this study were class IX students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang who were enrolled in 2022-2023, while the sample for this study was class IXB with a total of 26 students. The X variable is the Think Talk Write model, while the Y variable is the ability to write speech texts. The research instrument used was the test. The data collection technique used in this study was to provide performance tests. The tests were given twice in the form of pretest and posttest. At the first meeting the teacher conducted teaching and learning activities. In the second meeting the teacher carried out teaching and learning activities using the Think Talk Write model. At the third meeting the teacher gave a posttest. The results of this study are that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus the use of the Think Talk Write model influences the speech writing skills of class IX students of SMP Negeri 17 Padang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui penguasaan kosakata bahasa Indonesia mahasiswa Myanmar dalam BIPA di Universitas Negeri Padang. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah melndelskripsikan jelnis kata yang dikuasai mahasiswa Myanmar di univelrsitas nelgelri padang dalam pelmbellajaran BIPA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini merupakan hasil dokumentasi video record pada wawancara dan proses pembelajaran BIPA. Data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini ialah jenis kata yang digunakan mahasiswa Myanmar pada wawancara dan proses pembelajaran BIPA. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah teknik simak bebas libat cakap serta teknik catat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat 10 jelnis kata dalam wawancara dan prosels pelmbellajaran BIPA mahasiswa Myanmar yaitu kata kelrja, kata sifat, kata belnda, kata ganti, kata bilangan, kata keltelrangan, kata tanya, kata tunjuk, kata delpan, dan kata sambung. Kosakata bahasa Indonesia yang dikuasi mahasiswa Myanmar melalui proses pembelajaran bahasa disusun secara tematik dengan 6 pertemuan dengan tema/topik yang berbeda melnyelbabkan jelnis kata yang digunakan juga berbeda.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model AIR (Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition) terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Koto Salak. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan model eksperimental. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 28 siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Koto Salak. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah skor keterampilan menulis puisi sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model AIR (Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition) siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Koto Salak Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari hasil analisis diperoleh hasil thitung>ttabel (5,94>1,70). Dengan kata lain, terdapat efektivitas penggunaan model AIR (Auditory, Intellectually, Repetition) terhadap keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Koto Salak.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to write biographical texts without, with, and how the effect of using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning strategies on the ability to write biographical texts in class X SMA N 2 Lintau Buo. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The results of the study are described as follows. First, the students' biographical text writing skills before using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) strategy of class X students of SMA N 2 Lintau Buo with an average of 57.47. Second, students' biographical text writing skills after using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) strategy of class X students of SMA N 2 Lintau Buo with an average of 70.97. Third, the skill of writing biographical texts using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning strategies in learning is better than before using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning strategies. Fourth, there is a significant effect of the use of learning strategies on the skills of writing biographical texts for X grade students of SMA N 2 Lintau Buo because tcount > t table (4.32 > 1.67), so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that there is an effect of using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning strategies on the ability to write biographical texts for X grade students of SMA N 2 Lintau Buo. So, it can be seen that there is a significant effect between the use of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) strategies on learning the skills of writing biographical texts for the tenth graders of SMAN 2 Lintau Buo.

Abstract

Covid-19 forced changes in the lecture process. Online learning is the main solution taken, so that learning continues to run well. All students conduct their lectures online, from their respective places of residence, due to Covid-19. Without being discouraged, the lecturers and students remained enthusiastic in carrying out the lectures. Virtual classth rough various applications, one of which is zoom meeting. The application of zoom meetingis still very common for students because usually lecturers teach directly face to face. The purpose of this article is to find out the effectiveness of implementing virtual class with zoom meetingin evaluating Indonesian language teaching evaluation lectures. The research data was taken using a quantitative method, namely filling out a questionnaire using the Google form and distributing it to students who were selected as research samples for the Indonesian language and literature education study program at PGRI West Sumatra University who were taking an evaluation course for teaching Indonesian in the odd semester of 2021/ In 2022 there will be 34 students. From the survey results, the research results show that zoom meetings are less effective in evaluating Indonesian language teaching lectures, however, they are already effective in virtual classlearning and can be used as online learning applications. So it can be concluded that students can still continue lectures in a virtual classor indirectly by using a zoom meetingin the Indonesian language teaching evaluation lecture process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan model Numbered Head Together terhadap kemampuan menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 6 Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Rancangan yang dipilih adalah posttes only control design. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XI Busana 1 (Kelas Uji Coba), kelas XI Perhotelan 1 (kelas kontrol) dan Kelas XI UPW (kelas eksperimen). Instrumen penelitian berupa tes objektif menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi. Prosedur penelitian ini yaitu pelaksanaan tes uji coba soal objektif menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi, pelaksanan pembelajaran kemampuan menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi tanpa perlakuan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran kemampuan menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi dengan model Numbered Head Together, dan posttes kemampuan menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi. Hasil penelitian yaitu sebagai berikut. Pertama, tingkat kemampuan menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 6 Padang memperoleh nilai rata-rata 73,06 dengan klasifikasi Lebih dari Cukup (LdC). Kedua, tingkat kemampuan menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi dengan menggunakan model Numbered Head Together siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 6 Padang memperoleh nilai rata-rata 80,24 dengan klasifikasi Baik (B). Ketiga, berdasarkan hasil uji-t bahwa hipotesis H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak pada taraf signifikan 95% dan dk=(n1+n2)-2 yaitu thitung> ttabel (4,60 > 1,67). Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan model Numbered Head Together terhadap kemampuan menganalisis informasi teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMK Negeri 6 Padang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi melalui pembelajaran menggunakan model problem based-learning, keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi melalui pembelajaran menggunakan model think talk write, dan perbandingan model pembelajaran problem based learning dengan model think talk write terhadap keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Mutiara. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Mutiara yang berjumlah 54 orang yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen 1 berjumlah 27 orang dan siswa kelas eksperimen 2 juga berjumlah 27 orang. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut. Pertama, keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Mutiara menggunakan model problem based learning memperoleh nilai rata-rata 71,11 berada pada rentangan 66-75% dengan kualifikasi lebih dari cukup. Kedua, keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Mutiara menggunakan model think talk write memperoleh nilai rata-rata 77,48 berada pada rentangan 76-85% dengan kualifikasi baik. Ketiga, berdasarkan hasil uji t sampel berpasangan diketahui penggunaan model problem based learning kurang efektif dibandingkan menggunakan model think talk write terhadap keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Tanjung Mutiara karena nilai t hitung -14,051 pada sig. sebesar 0,00 < 0,05 sehingga Ho ditolak.
