Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of school principals in empowering honorary teachers at SMPN 1 Umpu Semenguk Way Kanan, focusing on planning and implementation strategies, forms of empowerment, supporting and inhibiting factors, and honorary teachers' perceptions of the effectiveness of the principal's role. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design through data collection techniques including semi-structured in-depth interviews, passive participant observation, and documentation study involving the principal, honorary teachers, and vice principal for curriculum affairs. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model with stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity is tested through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results show that the principal's strategy is implemented systematically through comprehensive needs analysis integrated into the School Work Plan (RKS) and School Activity and Budget Plan (RKAS), with short-term program implementation (in-house training, workshops, clinical supervision, mentoring) and long-term programs (facilitation of further studies, certification assistance, internal career paths). Forms of empowerment encompass three dimensions: professional through inclusion in training/seminars, internal IHT/KKG, and benchmarking visits; structural/managerial through assignment of coordinator/homeroom teacher responsibilities to 50% of honorary teachers, involvement in decision-making, and autonomy in developing lesson plans; and psychological/motivational through non-financial rewards, creation of fair work climate, and personal coaching/mentoring approaches.

Abstract

Diversification of local foods is a strategic step in achieving food self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on imports and a single major commodity. However, the dominance of rice as a staple food remains a challenge for national food security. Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.) has great potential for development due to its high nutritional content, tolerance to marginal land, and gluten-free properties. However, its utilization in Indonesia is still relatively limited. In Batu Layang Village, Hulu Palik Subdistrict, North Bengkulu Regency, this community service activity targeted farmer groups, PKK, youth, and the general public. The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method was applied through socialization, training, and demonstration of sorghum waste processing, product downstreaming assistance, evaluation, and marketing strategy strengthening. The results of the activities showed a significant increase in the knowledge and skills of the community, particularly in processing sorghum waste into high-quality organic fertilizer. The evaluation showed increased post-harvest capabilities and a high level of participant satisfaction. In addition to producing economically valuable products, this program also broadened the community's knowledge of food diversification and encouraged forming joint business groups in the future.

Abstract

This research explores the mechanisms of "Religious Engineering" executed by Lady Jessica in the screenplay of Dune: Part Two by Denis Villeneuve and Jon Spaihts. While the narrative often focuses on Paul Atreides’ journey as the "Lisan al-Gaib," this study posits that his messianic status is a calculated political construct orchestrated by Lady Jessica. Utilizing a qualitative literary analysis with a focus on political dramaturgy and discourse analysis, the study examines key scenes and dialogues that reveal how Jessica hijacks indigenous Fremen spirituality to secure the hegemony of House Atreides. The findings identify four primary strategic pillars: the utilization of ritual as a tool for spiritual legitimacy, the strategic collaboration with her unborn daughter (Alia) as a "coalition partner," the geopolitical exploitation of Southern fundamentalism, and the manipulation of psychological confirmation bias in local leadership. Furthermore, this research highlights the antithesis provided by the character Chani, whose resistance exposes the "Missionaria Protectiva" as a form of colonial epistemic violence. Ultimately, this analysis concludes that religion in the Dune universe serves as a weaponized alien invention, where the "Holy War" is not a spontaneous religious awakening, but a controlled demolition of indigenous agency designed for political survival.

Abstract

Vector-borne diseases transmitted by mosquitoes are considered a significant public health problem worldwide. Aedes aegypti is one of the mosquito species responsible for transmitting these diseases. One environmentally friendly method of vector control is the use of microbial agents such as Bacillus species. This study aimed to explore investigate indigenous entomopathogenic bacteria of Bacillus species isolated from A. aegypti larvae. Larvae samples were collected from breeding sites of A. aegypti. All isolates underwent screening and affirmation confirmation tests to assess their larvicidal toxicity against A. aegypti larvae. Phenotypic characterizations and molecular identifications were conducted to determine the species of the Bacillus isolates based on similarity index and percent identity (%ID). Phylogenetic trees were used to compare the isolates with other Bacillus species. The results revealed 120 isolates of Bacillus species from A. aegypti larvae samples. Among them, three isolates (LS3.3, LS9.1, and LSD4.2) exhibited the highest larvicidal toxicity in the confirmation test, resulting in larval mortality rates of 100%, 96.7%, and 100%, respectively, after 48 hours of exposure. Molecular identifications, showed that LSD4.2 had a 99.16% ID with Bacillus velezensis, LS3.3 had a 98.22% ID with Bacillus mojavensis, and LS9.1 had a 99.93% ID with Bacillus subtilis. These three bacteria from the Bacillus genus have been reported to offer significant benefits to humans.
