Abstract

Application of Scientific Approach in Primary Schools. The rationale for this research is the discovery of problems related to the low ability of students to present report texts based on observations. based on these problems offered a solution that is the use of a scientific approach, which approach has a characteristic that is a series of processes or stages in learning that must be passed by students. the use of this approach is considered effective to provide solutions to the problems encountered. This approach was chosen because of the recommendations of previous studies. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of the use of scientific approaches in elementary schools. this type of research is qualitative with descriptive methods. The results showed that the use of a scientific approach in learning can be said to be effective. This can be seen in students' progress in preparing reports based on observations. in addition, students follow well the stages of the scientific approach in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the challenges and obstacles faced by elementary school classroom teachers in implementing the remote learning process and the efforts that classroom teachers can take to continue to meet the learning needs of elementary school students in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is literature study by utilizing secondary data from previous research from scientific articles related to the topic being studied. The data were analyzed qualitatively by adopting the data analysis model from Miles and Hubermann. The results showed that distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic experienced various obstacles, especially if it was based on online learning. These obstacles are in the form of technological inequality, digital competence, socio-economic conditions, difficulties in monitoring and evaluation as well as the increasing workload of teachers converting material into electronic form. However, there are several efforts made by elementary school teachers to overcome the learning difficulties of their students. In general, these solutions are divided into two broad groups, namely offline and semi-online. Offline is carried out with home visits / door to door, limited face-to-face learning according to schedule by implementing strict health protocols, and taking assignments to school so that they can still control student learning progress. Semi-online can be done by using the instant messaging application WhatsApp and the use of delayed video learning.

Abstract

The aim of this study is  to analyze the readiness of parents to assisted elementary school-aged children in distance learning in the 2021/2022 academic year. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Sample in this research were 120 parents of students who were randomly selected from 10 primary schools in the Langke Rembong district of Manggarai Regency. Data were collected by online surveys and by telephone calls. The results showed that the majority of parents were not ready to accompany their children to learn from home. This unpreparedness is caused by the difficulty of parents dividing time at home, the lack of direction received from the teacher, parents do not understand the child's subject matter, and parental ignorance of technology causes parents to tend not to be involved in children's learning activities and then hand over the responsibility to other adult family members.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the role of parents in assisting of students studying during the period of studies from home, as well as to describe the constraints of parents to do that activity. This research used qualitative approach with library research method. Data were collected using documentation techniques and analyzed by adopting the data analysis model from Miles and Hubermann. The results showed that the role of parents in assisting of students studying during the period can be describe as 1) a teachers at home, where parents can guide and accompany children to study remotely from home, 2) as facilitator, 3) as motivators and 4) as influences or directors. However, there were several obstacles faced by parents in online learning like 1) lack of understanding of the material by parents, 2) do not have enough time to accompany children because they have to work., 3) parents are impatient in accompanying children while studying at home, 4) difficulty in operating gadgets, 5) unstable internet service coverage and 6) no electricity. The solution that can be done to maximize the role of parents is to learn to understand technology and consult with teachers regarding children's learning progress.

Abstract

Ketergantungan dalam penggunaan smartphone dikarenakan fitur dan aplikasi yang ada mempermudah semua aktivitas. Mahasiswa menghabiskan sekian banyak waktu menggunakan smartphone, fitur yang disajikan menjadikan mahasiswa jarang berinteraksi dengan lingkungannya, ini membuat mahasiswa susah mengerti konsep komunikasi efektif, berpikir tingkat tinggi dan rasional serta produktivitas tinggi, sehingga pola pikirnya menjadi sederhana. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan jenis fenomenologi yang mencari pemahaman mendalam tentang penggunaan smartphone di kalangan Mahasiswa. Objek yang diteliti adalah semua yang melekat pada penggunaan smartphone di kalangan Mahasiswa. Informan utamanya adalah mahasiswa UNIKA Santu Paulus Ruteng. Informan tambahan atau informan ahli adalah dosen UNIKA Santu Paulus Ruteng. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditarik kesimpulan bahwa ada kecenderungan kecanduan terhadap smartphone. Hal ini dilihat dari kebiasaan mahasiswa yang tidak lepas dari smartphone kapan dan dimanapun. Intensitas dan frekuensi yang ditunjukkan dalam penggunaannya cenderung mengalami peningkatan, seperti setiap beberapa menit sekali dan bisa mencapai lebih dari 5 jam perhari menggunakan smartphone. Mahasiswa sangat terpengaruh akan smartphone sehingga keseluruhan kegiatan mereka sangat bergantung dengan smartphone. Mahasiswa cenderung tidak terlepas dari smartphone walaupun hanya sesaat karena merasakan ketergantungan dengan fitur yang ada. Apabila melepaskan atau meninggalkan smartphone-nya akan ada rasa aneh, ada yang kurang sehingga memiliki ketidaknyamanan dalam melakukan aktivitas.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the validity of New Environmental Paradigm (NEP) scale to measure peoples paradigm and its relationship to traditionally spring conservation based on gender equality. This research used quantitative with survey method, involved 120 samples selected randomly from Manggarai. NEP instruments developed based on five dimension (limit to growth, anti anthropocentrism, fragility of nature balance, rejection of excemptionalism and possibility of eco crisis) consist of 60 items. For measuring traditionally spring conservation 17 items of instruments has been developed. The results of the research reveal that, 33 items of NEP instruments have high validity and 27 items were omitted because low validity. Whereas for traditionally spring conservation instruments, 11 items have high validity and 6 items were omitted because low validity. The reliability for NEP instruments is 0,910 (33 items) and for traditionally spring conservation is 0,773 (11 items). There is no mean difference for both NEP and traditionally spring conservation between male and female. Moreover there is five factors has eigenvalues >1,00 for NEP instruments, and its construct validity were confirmed that all factors loading which consist of 15 indicators are >0,30. After rotation with varimax method, it is found that 7 indicators have factor loadings >0,30 in more than one component, and so that 7 indicators must be omitted from measuring peoples NEP.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop science learning instructional based on Science Environment Society Technology (SETS) approach which is faceable to  facilitate students science literacy. Science learning instructional that developed in this research are lesson plans, student teaching materials, students worksheets and scientific literacy instruments. The method used in this study is the research and development (RnD) using the Dick and Carey model and it was tested to ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Langke Rembong on second semester of 2021/2022 Academic Year. Data were collected using expert validation, observation and test methods. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitative and qualitative. The results of the research show that 1) the science learning instructional developed was valid after being validated by two science teachers and two science lecturers, 2) the practicality of the learning device was obtained from the implementation of the lesson plan  in the very good category, 3) the effectiveness of the device was demonstrated by increasing scores and levels scientific literacy with moderate n-gain and student responses to devices and learning implementation are interesting and easy to learn. Based on these results, it can be concluded that science learning instructional based on SETS approach are suitable for practicing student scientific literacy

Abstract

Abstrak: Penggunaan teknologi pembelajaran sejauh ini telah dilakukan oleh guru-guru SMPN 4 Langke Rembong seperti pembuatan video pembelajaran, penggunaan aplikasi WA, penggunaan email dan lainnya. Akan tetapi, teknologi ini dinilai belum memadai untuk memicu siswa aktif dalam proses belajar. Salah satu jenis bahan ajar yang kehadirannya penting adalah Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD). Akibat pandemi Covid-19, LKPD yang semulanya digunakan langsung dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas, menjadi jarang digunakan. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk dilakukan pelatihan pengembangan LKPD interaktif dengan bantuan web based liveworksheet.com kepada guru SMPN 4 Langke Rembong sejumlah 39 peserta, dengan rincian 22 guru perempuan dan 17 guru laki-laki. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman dalam mengembangkan LKPD interaktif. Hal ini perlu dilakukan agar LKPD tetap digunakan dan bermanfaat saat proses pembelajaran secara virtual sehingga aktifitas belajar siswa tetap terlihat dan terpantau. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi perencanaan, persiapan, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi. Evaluasi kegiatan dinilai dari terciptanya produk dan evaluasi terhadap tingkat pemahaman guru dalam proses pengembangan LKPD interaktif melalui angket. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan kelompok guru mata pelajaran berhasil merancang LKPD interaktif. Pengukuran terhadap tingkat pemahaman juga menunjukkan tingkat pemahaman peserta sebesar 80%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka LKPD interaktif dapat digunakan guru dalam proses pembelajaran.Abstract: The use of learning technology has been carried out by SMPN 4 Langke Rembong teachers such as making learning videos, using WA applications, using email and others. However, this technology is considered inadequate to trigger students to be active in the learning process. One type of teaching materials whose presence is important is worksheet. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, worksheet which was originally used directly in the learning process in the classroom, is rarely used. Therefore, it is important to conduct interactive worksheet development training with the help of web based liveworksheet.com for 39 participants of SMPN 4 Langke Rembong teachers, where there are 22 female teachers and 17 male teachers. This training aims to increase knowledge and understanding in developing interactive LKPD. This needs to be done so that worksheet can still be used and useful during the virtual learning process so that student learning activities are still visible and monitored. The method of implementing the activities includes planning, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Evaluation of activities is assessed from the creation of products and evaluation of the level of understanding of teachers in the process of developing interactive worksheet through a questionnaire. The results of the activity showed that the group of subject teachers succeeded in designing it. The measurement of the level of understanding also shows the level of understanding of the participants by 80%. Based on these results, interactive worksheets can be used by teachers in the learning process.

Abstract

Bermain game online secara berlebihan dapat menyebabkan kecanduan dan berkurangnya waktu anak untuk belajar dan bersosialisasi dengan anak-anak sebayanya secara langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecanduan game online terhadap prestasi akademik siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode regresi korelasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 51 orang siswa sekolah dasar (SD) di Kecamatan Langke Rembong yang berusia 11 – 13 tahun (kelas 4 – kelas 6 SD) dan memiliki kebiasaan bermain game online yang diambil menggunakan teknik simple random sampling.  Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen berupa angket serta dokumen nilai rapor siswa pada semester genap TA. 2021/2022. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis regeresi linear sederhana dan korelasi Pearsons Product Moment dengan taraf kesalahan (α) 5% (0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat korelasi negatif dan signifikan antara kecanduan game online dengan prestasi akademik siswa yang ditunjukkan oleh koefisien korelasi  dan koefisien regresi . Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi tingkat kecanduan siswa terhadap game online maka akan semakin rendah prestasi akademik yang dicapai siswa. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa dengan tingkat kecanduan game online yang tinggi cenderung mendapatkan prestasi akademik yang rendah. Oleh karena itu peran serta guru dan orang tua dalam melakukan pengawasan dan menemani siswa belajar sangat diperlukan. Orang tua harus menyediakan lebih banyak waktu menemani anak belajar dan tidak menyerahkan tanggung jawab pendidikan sepenuhnya kepada pihak sekolah.
