Abstract

Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers women suffer, especially in adolescents and young adults. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of the application of early detection of breast cancer to increase knowledge about early detection of breast cancer in adolescents. Method: This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test design approach. The study sample amounted to 100 respondents with sampling using a purposive sampling technique. The analysis used was bivariate and gene analysis using Wilcoxon. Result: The characteristics of the majority of respondents are middle-aged adolescents 15 to 17 years (91%), have never received education about breast cancer and how to prevent it (73%), and the level of knowledge about breast cancer is sufficient (54). The Wilcoxon alternative test results compared the knowledge level before, and after using an Android-based breast cancer early detection application obtained p value = 0.000 < (0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, this study has an effect of early detection of breast cancer in increasing knowledge about the early detection of breast cancer in adolescents. Recommendation: The results of this study are expected to increase knowledge about breast health education through an Android-based early detection application for breast cancer in adolescents that can apply to the implementation of nursing. Researchers suggest that future researchers can use creativity so that this research can attract more respondents' attention and be able to increase the knowledge of adolescents

Abstract

Leptospirosis is an infectious disease that can affect various kinds of animals including dogs and cats. Leptospirosis has a zoonotic potential, therefore it is necessary to confirm a definitive diagnosis in patients suspected infection by leptospirosis. Establishing a diagnosis is important for the public health sector because dogs and cats infected with Leptospira sp. can spread organisms through urine to the environment. Microscopic agglutination test (MAT) is the gold standard for diagnosing leptospirosis. However, MAT has limitations in the sensitivity and specificity of the test because it works by detecting antibodies in the serum. A repeat of the MAT test is necessary to confirm the diagnosis, especially if the antibody titer value is not significantly increased in the first test. Four cases of dogs treated at the Joint Veterinary Practice (PDHB) drh Cucu Kartini Sajuthi with clinical symptoms of jaundice mucous membrane, vomiting, diarrhea, and blood tests showed an increase in blood urea nitrogen and creatinine values indicating impaired kidney function and an increase in serum glutamic pyruvic values transaminase and alkaline phosphatase indicating the impaired of liver cells. The emergence of clinical symptoms and abnormalities in the blood picture led to the suspicion of the patient being infected with Leptospira sp. The MAT test was carried out at the Center for Veterinary Research (BB Litvet) Bogor. The test was repeated with interval of 7-14 days. An increase in antibody titer fourfold or more indicates a strong presence of Leptospira sp. Of the four cases presented, three patients had a 4-fold increase in antibody titer on the second MAT test while one patient did not have an increase in antibody titer. This study concludes that MAT testing is applicable in the clinical diagnosis of leptospirosis, but it is necessary to repeat the test with an interval of 7–14 days.

This is indicated by the community's low interest in circumcising their children, which is seen from the number of circumcision participants carried out by the Indah Foundation at the IndahMedan College of Health Sciences in 2020, in January with only 12 participants, 9 (June), 15 (October). Likewise on Radio Indah Suara 96.5 FM Perbaungan in December 2019 with 11 people, in June 2020 with 14 people, in October with 15 participants. Abstract

Decubitus has recently become a problem in both developed and developing countries, especially Indonesia. Until now, pressure sores are still a classic problem in the health sector, especially in the nursing field. In Kebumen Hospital, 38.18% of patients had pressure sores. Damage to skin integrity caused by bed rest, if left unchecked for a long time will irritate the skin until the formation of wounds on the skin, therefore tissue undergoing necrosis due to lack of blood supply to certain tissues. Nowadays, this is a secondary affliction experienced by many hospitalized patients. This paper aims to determine the effect of wound care using aloe vera gel on the healing of decubitus performed on 10 people in Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang. This study used an experimental method by looking at the cure rate given by aloe vera gel and before being given aloe vera gel, moreover, for the response given aloe vera gel and not. Based on the output of the Mann-Whitney test, it is known that the p-value is 0.008 < (α = 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a difference between the control group and the treatment group. Because there is a significant difference, it can be assumed that there is an effect of giving aloe vera gel on the healing process of decubitus wounds
