Abstract

The research findings indicate that business capital contributes 23.4% to MSME income, but its impact is not significant. Business location contributes 14.3%, which is also not significant in affecting MSME income. On the other hand, production costs have a negative impact of -72.3%, indicating that high production costs can reduce income, although the result is not significant. Conversely, the number of workers significantly contributes 31.7%, emphasizing that good labor management can significantly increase MSME income. Overall, the independent variables in this study explain 30.8% of the variation in MSME income, while the remaining 69.2% is influenced by factors outside the model. These findings underscore the importance of optimizing labor management and improving production cost efficiency to support income growth for culinary MSMEs in Gorontalo City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing child poverty in Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, specifically focusing on the impact of education on poverty levels. Specifically, it identifies key determinants of child poverty, including formal education levels, literacy skills, and educational assistance programs (PIP), and examines how these variables influence a child's likelihood of experiencing poverty. The data utilized in this study were obtained from the National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas KOR & KP 2023) conducted by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and were analyzed using logistic regression methods. The findings indicate that children's education levels significantly reduce the likelihood of experiencing poverty. Children receiving educational assistance through the Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP) also have a lower probability of poverty, highlighting the effectiveness of this program in improving child welfare. However, literacy skills unexpectedly tend to increase the likelihood of child poverty, although this relationship is not statistically significant. Furthermore, preschool education does not significantly impact child poverty risk. These findings emphasize the need for child poverty alleviation policies in Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua to focus on improving access to education and optimizing educational assistance programs to ensure a greater impact on child welfare. While the government has implemented various poverty alleviation policies, a more comprehensive and targeted implementation strategy is required, particularly for children from low-income families, by ensuring better access to education and effective support programs to reduce the risk of child poverty.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of business capital and labor on the output of Small and Medium Industries (IKM) in the coconut oil food sector in Gorontalo Province. The main focus is directed at the contribution of business capital assistance provided by the regional government since 2021. The research uses panel data from 70 IKM assisted by the Gorontalo Province Department of Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry and Trade during the 2018–2023 period. The analysis was carried out using the multiple linear regression method using the Random Effect Model approach, which was determined based on the Chow, Hausman and Lagrange Multiplier tests. The estimation results show that business capital has a positive and significant effect on SME output, while labor has a positive but not significant effect on output. These findings have the implication that government intervention in the form of capital assistance contributes significantly to increasing SME output, and its effectiveness can be strengthened through improving the quality of the workforce.

Abstract

A country's continuous rise towards improvement over a certain period of time is the process of economic growth. The elements that make up a country's economic structure function to regulate a country's household and are referred to as the economic structure: household, business, government, economic system, input market, and output market. The economics of each of these parts is different. Input markets (for goods and services), output markets (for households, businesses, governments, and economic systems) are components of the economy. This research aims to find out how much economic growth there has been and whether there has been a change in the economic structure of Central Sulawesi Province in the 2018-2022 period. The research uses quantitative research methods, using secondary data, obtained through PDRB Data for Central Sulawesi Province. Analysis methods include Location Quontien (LQ) Analysis and Structural Checks Index (SCI) Analysis. The research findings indicate that from 2018 to 2022, Central Sulawesi Province experienced significant shifts, identifying five key sectors that dominated economic growth. The mining and quarrying sector, along with the processing industry, served as the primary drivers, while the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors showed important contributions despite fluctuations. The water supply and waste management sector, although its contribution was low, exhibited stable growth, and the government administration sector also positively contributed with consistent growth. Thus, it can be concluded that there has been a structural change in the economy of Central Sulawesi over this five-year period. The secondary sector has emerged as a driving force behind the economic structural changes in the region, as indicated by an increase in the Sectoral Contribution Index (SCI) year by year, despite declines in the primary and tertiary sectors. This change reflects a shift in resource allocation increasingly directed toward the secondary sector as the main pillar of the regional economy.
