Abstract

Fish Processor in KUB Bina Sejahtera can increase the added value of products and income of group members. This research aimed to analyze added value, the raw materials inventory control and income of KUB Sejahtera. The number of respondent in this study was six members of KUB Bina Sejahtera.  This group produced fishes which were processed into various products such as food, meatballs, ekado,  fish lumpia, otak-otak, and piletan.  The researcher used analytical method such as Hayami Formula, the EOQ method and income theory.  Fish processor industry in KUB Bina Sejahtera provided added value greater than zero, the results of EOQ showed that the entire control supplies of raw materials had optimal point because it had a frequency of purchase of raw materials about 4 up to 29 times each month,.  Income resulting from spring rolls fish was Rp338.825,93, meatballs was Rp231.825,93, fish lumpia was Rp338.825,93, otak-otak was Rp2.159.423,93, and piletan was Rp27.526.363,64. Abstract

The research was conducted in Bernung village of Gedong Tataan Sub-district of Pesawaran Regency and Rajabasa village of Rajabasa Sub-district of Bandar Lampung City. The two location were selected purposively based on the consideration that many emping melinjo craftsmen existed in these villages in which melinjo materials stock were supplied sufficiently. The research used primary and secondary data of the 37 respondents. The data was collected in July until August 2012 and was analyzed by financial feasibility the NPV, IRR, Net B/C, Gross B/C, Payback Period, BEP and sensitivity. The results showed that emping melinjo agroindustries in Bernung village and in Rajabasa village were financially feasible to develop and profitable, with NPV 90.605.605,92 and 25.974.416,60, IRR of 50,84 % and 38,20 %, Net B/C 7,34 and 3,66, Gross B/C 1,13 and 1,22, and PP 5,36 and 5,41. Abstract

This study aims to analyze technical efficiency of onion farming and the factors that influence the technical inefficiency of onion farming. This research is conducted purposely in Ketapang Sub-district.  The respondents are 49 farmers collected by sensus method.  He research data is taken in September to November 2016.  The technical efficiency is measured by frontier production function and estimated by Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method with Frontier 4.1c computer program.  The estimation of factor that influences the technical inefficiency is applied by linear regression model simultaneously obtained by using the frontier production function.  The results showed that the average of technical efficiency of onion farming in Ketapang Sub-district was 0.93 which meant very efficient.  Furthermore, the factors that significantly influenced the technical inefficiency of onion farm in Ketapang Sub-district were the farming experience and counseling frequency.Key words: frontier, onion farming, technical efficiency

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the base commodity and income levels of freshwater fish farmers.  The research is conducted by survey method in which location was chosen purposively at Pagelaran and Lugusari Villages, Pagelaran Subdistrict of Pringsewu Regency with consideration that the location are the central of freshwater fish production (minapolitan areas).  The samples are 44 freshwater fish farmers who are members of fish farmers group with farming experience of more than five years.  The data was collected in June to July 2017 and is analyzed by Location Quotient (LQ) analysis to determine base commodity and fish farming analysis to identify income level of freshwater fish farmers.  The result of LQ analysis and fish farming analysis showed that the main base commodity was goldfish with LQ score 1,18 and the highest income level from three business focus (breeding business, enlargement business, also the breeding and enlargement business of goldfish) was an enlargement business of goldfish with an income value of Rp1,556,440.29/1,000 m2/month.Key words: base sector, freshwater fish, goldfish, income, main commodity

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analyze dominant factors on the consumer’s buying decision of banana chips and formulate a marketing strategy based on consumer behavior and marketing mix. The research was conducted by a survey method in Sub-district of East Metro of Metro City. This location was chosen on purpose by considerate that  place are crowded which is well known as the central area of the banana chips in Metro.  There were 100 respondents of both men and women that met the inclusion samples’ criteria, such as having at least an experience in buying banana chips.  The results showed that there were three dominant component factors that influenced purchasing decisions of banana chips: the first principal component factor was named as performance (live style) and price product, the second major components was named the shape, and the third major components was named flavour variations of banana chips. Marketing strategy banana chips are utilizing the product prices to improve the image of product for consumers, improving skills and technology, expand the marketing of products to potential region and have never reached a competitor, utilizing local specialty food products as to obtain a large market opportunity and increase the carrying capacity of low funds by utilizing the carrying capacity of the goverment. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze internal factors, external factors and design development strategies that more appropriate for cassava farming. This study was conducted in two villages, namely Ujung Gunung Ilir Village and Kagungan Rahayu Village of  Menggala Subdistrict of Tulang Bawang Regency. This study uses census method involving 91 cassava farmers in the two villages. The method of analysis in this study are matrix of Internal Factors Analysis (IFAS),  matrix of External Factors Analysis (EFAS), and SWOT analysis. The results of the analysis of internal factors includes production and human resources for stregth component, also includes management, infrastructure, and organization for weaknesses component. The results of the analysis of external factors includes technology, demand, infrastructure, and land topographic for opportunities component, also includes another farming, the condition of weather and climate, price of cassava  for the threats component. The design of new strategies to develope this farm were: increasing production to fill the demand of tapioca and biofuel industry, optimizing the advanced mindset and environmental friendly, increasing economic activity for the welfare, improving the infrastructure to repair farm roads, and working efficiency to increase the competitiveness. Abstract

This research aims to find outsupply chain, flow patterns of goods, information, and finance, supply chain performance, and marketing efficiency. The research was carried out in two villages namely Tanjung Raya Village and Hanakau Village of Sukau District.  Determination of the location of the study was conducted purposively considering the area as a center for vegetable production in West Lampung Regency.  The respondents involved were 74 people, consisting of 30 vegetable farmers, 10 agents, 12 wholesalers, and 22 retailers.  The first and second objectives were analyzed using a descriptive method, the third objective was analyzed using supply chain performance measurement, and the fourth objective was analyzed using marketing efficiency.  The results proved that stakeholders involved in the tomato supply chain consist of farmers, agents, wholesalers, retailers, and consumers.  The flow of goods occured from upstream to downstream, and the flow of information occurs from upstream to downstream.  Meanwhile, financial flow occured from downstream to upstream.  The tomato supply chain performance was in a good criteria, because it reaches the foodscor card value, but the distribution is inefficient because the overall ratio of profit margins among marketing institutions is spread unevenly and less than zero. Key words: marketing efficiency, performance, supply chain, tomato

Abstract

This research aims to analyze financial feasibility of pepper nursery business and feasibility sensitivity.  The research was conducted in Sukadana Baru Village, Marga Tiga District, Lampung Timur Regency in March to April 2017. Respondents are six pepper nursery farmers. Note that the used research method is the case study where the quantitative analyses are utilized as the data analysis using Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV), Payback Periode (PP), Gross Benefit Cost Ratio (Gross B/C), and Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C). The results showed that (1) the pepper nursery business in Sukadana Baru Village, Marga Tiga District, Lampung Timur Regency is financially feasible to be expanded, (2) the sensitivity analysis shows that this business is still feasible and profitable toward the decreasing production and selling price of pepper nursery as well as the increasing costs of manure and NPK fertilizer.. Key words : financial, feasibility, pepper nursery, sensitivity

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internal factors, external factors and arrange development strategy on the dairy cattle business.  The study was conducted by case study method at Neang Mukti Farmer Group in Air Naningan Subdistrict, Tanggamus Regency purposively.  Data of this research was collected on January to March 2017.  The internal factors were analyzed by Internal Factors Evaluation (IFE) matrix, while external factors by External Factors Evaluation (EFE) matrix.  The analysis of development strategy and determining priority strategy were obtained by Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats (SWOT) analysis and by Quantitive Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) analysis, respectively. The result of internal factors analysis showed  that the main strength which was owned by the dairy cattle business of Neang Mukti Farmer Group was the availability of forage and water feed for livestock and its main weakness were milk production that has not been optimize and has not been tested to standardize its quality. The main opportunities of this business were the increasing national milk demand and the main threat was the existence of global warming. Finally, the strategies that could be used to develop the dairy cattle business of Neang Mukti Group were as follows: increasing the capital by lending to the bank in order to increase the scale of business, increasing the productivity of dairy cattle by utilizing the role of government institutions or universities, and  cooperation with the dairy cooperatives or milk processing industry as the raw milk supplier.Key words: dairy cattle business, development strategy, QSPM, SWOT analysis

Abstract

This research of analysis of the development strategy of Islamic microfinance institutions used SWOTanalysis. This study aimed to analyze the internal and external environmental conditions and alternativestrategies that can be applied in the development of Baitul Mal Wa TanWil (BMT) Al Hasanah Sekampung.The BMT internal environmental conditions showed that: 1) the level of education and skills of themanagement and employees were quite high and professionally, 2) the BMT has a strategic location, 3) theboards were very discipline, 4) the capital was used effectively, 5) product service very helpful members.Whereas, the five internal weaken factors were: 1) members who did not understand the concept of sharia, 2)the condition of the narrow building, 3) the administrative costs, 4) the capital owned cooperative was notgreat, 5), not all members could enjoy the service product. While the BMT external conditions were 1) theavailability of capital from third parties, 2) the BMT adopt profit-sharing system, 3) the governmentregulations that support BMT, 4) the majority of local merchants, 5) the online transfer technology, 6) mostof the capital third, 7) the increase of fuel prices, 8) the legislation government to the concept of sharia, 9)people did not understand the concept of Islamic and conventional, and 10) the cost of procurement. Basedon the three obtained priority strategies, the highest priority strategic alternatives were a) improve thequality of care, b) officers and employees had a high level of education, and c) the cooperation withgovernment and private agencies.
