Abstract

The Condition of schools in Indonesia, there are several schools that have not created a literate school atmosphere both physically, socially, and learning. This requires challenges and strategies so that these illiterate schools become literate schools and become literate schools that are entrenched in school. This is driven by observations carried out at SDN Wanajaya 03 showing an indication of the low interest in reading the students show that during the teaching and learning process related to reading students are not enthusiastic, the means to support reading activities are not available due to the absence of library facilities and from the result of interviews shows that from 23,9% agree and as much 70,5% strongly agree to visit a library that is more complete than the library in school, this research is a field research with a qualitative research approach, for data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interview, and documentation, data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. The purpose of this study is to a provide a description of the implementation of the reading literacy program 15 minute before learning, this program is carried out in three stages: the first stage is the habituation stage where this stage has started to be carried out and is able arouse students motivation and can distinguish the types of reading book, the stage that the second is the development stage where students do not just read but better understand what is read and are able to write the story into everyday life, the third stage is the learning stage where at this stage literacy activities can be carried out independently without any coercion or coercion. Order this literacy activity is linked to other learning. The role of teachers and parents is very important for the running of this literacy program.

Abstract

Indonesian is the language used as a unifying language. In addition, in elementary schools Indonesian is also one of the subjects. One of the materials studied is sentences. Of the various types of sentences, the sentence that will be discussed further is the imperative sentence. Although this sentence is very common in the practice of everyday life. But not everyone has full knowledge of what a command sentence is. Therefore, this study aims to find out, analyze and describe the imperative sentences in the collection of short stories Pen, and use them as teaching materials to find imperative sentences in grade II elementary school. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis method. Then use a collection technique, namely technical document analysis which is then analyzed through three stages consisting of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study, found imperative sentences in 13 stories in the collection of short stories Pen by 26 special intelligent children. The command sentences are 60 sentences and have been validated by experts. In the collection of short stories Pen, there are three types of command sentences, namely the actual command sentence totaling 34 sentences, the invitation-to-command sentence totaling 22 sentences and the prohibition command sentence totaling 4 sentences. Then the results of the analysis of command sentences in a collection of short stories Pens are used as an alternative to writing teaching materials to find imperative sentences in grade II elementary school.

Abstract

The intrinsic element is one of the most important elements in writing narrative essays. This study intends to analyze the intrinsic elements in the short story anthology of Balon Wish as an alternative to making teaching materials for writing narrative essays in the fifth grade of elementary school. Researchers conducted research using qualitative research with content analysis methods because this study analyzed the intrinsic elements in the book Anthology of Short Stories Anak Balon Wish which would then be followed by an analytical technique process consisting of three stages, namely data reduction, data description, and making conclusions. The purpose of this study was to find out the intrinsic elements in the short story anthology balloon wishes and to obtain teaching materials for writing narrative essays for students in class V of Elementary School based on the results of the analysis of intrinsic elements in short story anthology of short story children of balloon wishes. Based on the results of the study, the intrinsic elements were found, namely, the main character, theme, additional character, time setting, characterizations, place setting, atmosphere setting, plot, point of view of the first person, mandate, and point of view of the third person. From the data described, conclusions are then drawn to make teaching materials for writing narrative essays for students in class V Elementary School in the form of handouts containing material intrinsic elements, writing narrative essays and student worksheets as an exercise to determine the level of student understanding.

Abstract

Mentoring students while studying is something that is very much needed in covid-19 period because it becomes an effort so that students can achieve their goals in learning. In students’ mentoring, it is also carried out in order to foster self-confidence, have a sense of comfort when learning, grow attitudes and noble behaviors that are creative, innovative and desire to move forward. An effort to achieve learning goals it is not easy so that learning intentions are needed that grow in the child himself, so that children can think well. Young learner, especially at the elementary school level, is where children need concrete objects in every delivery of material given by the teacher. The concrete forms given by the teacher will make it easier for students to reason or imagine something, it can also be something interesting and fun. Through this thematic community service, authors conducted student assistance which was carried out at Ma'rifatul Ulum Islamic Elementary School, Kaliwedi Sub-district, Cirebon, West Java. It is an effort to achieve goals in learning and make PowerPoint media as an alternative for teachers in delivering a material so that the concept of the material being taught can be responded well by students. The assistance for 123 hours through social media platforms is carried out for grade II and V elementary school students The result of this program is that students become motivated to learn during this pandemic after the implementation of blended learning. This assistance is considered very useful in increasing the willingness to learn and can be developed in other forms.

Abstract

The Covid-19 outbreak has impacted research since the government employs social distancing and physical distancing. As a matter of fact, the data collection process should use technology. This article aims to reveal the use of social media technology as a research tool during the pandemic time. This study focused on the potential and challenges of using social media in the educational research field. Basically, social media can be freely used by various circles, both in terms of cost and time spent. In addition, looking at the economic conditions during the declining Covid-19 pandemic, making social media can be used as an alternative tool compared to other technological platforms. Based on these facts, the authors are interested in studying social media as an alternative research tool in favor of the Covid-19 policy. This study revealed the high potential of social media use (Youtube, Instagram, and WhatsApp) in educational research. The low-cost feature of social media made this alternative should be considered although having some challenges. This study promoted social media as one of the alternative troubleshooting educational researches during the COVID-19 period. The research hopefully contributed to the development of technology for research at the limitation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Comprehension reading is activity to absorb information from reading material, understand, know the meaning or implied meaning of reading. In the world of education, especially in elementary school, reading skills are very important in addition to the other three language skills. Of the four language skills that must be mastered by students, most of the difficulties experienced by students are difficulties in reading comprehension. Difficulty in reading comprehension will hinder students in absorbing the information presented in the form of reading in the form of books, magazines, newspapers, documents and others. This study aims to find out, analyze and describe the difficulties experienced by students in reading comprehension on fairy tale texts in class III SDN Tegal Kidongdong in the 2021/2022 academic year and make learning media in the form of animated videos based on the difficulties experienced by students. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis method which aims to analyze the phenomenon based on the documents obtained from the research. The subject of this research is a document in the form of student worksheet answers. Data collection techniques used in this study were participant observation, in-depth interviews and document analysis. The results of this study are the difficulties experienced by students, namely difficulties in reading comprehension with a literal level of understanding, namely finding the characteristics possessed by characters in fairy tales, then difficulty in reading comprehension with a literal level of understanding, namely finding paragraphs that show moral messages and finally having difficulty reading comprehension with the level of understanding of interpretation, namely finding the moral message in the fairy tale. Based on the knowledge of these difficulties, the researchers considered it to make learning media in the form of animated videos to be accessed by all third grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Children's literature plays an important role in the stage of child development, through children's literature adults can communicate with children so that literature can be used to improve language skills and abilities. One aspect of language skills is writing skills. In fact, there is still a lack of writing skills, especially writing poetry, one of the reasons is that students think writing is an exciting and less interesting activity. In the 2013 curriculum writing poetry is contained in learning Indonesian for grade IV elementary school. In writing poetry, it is necessary to have an image or imagination as a picture that beautifies the work. The purpose of this study was to find out the kinds of images contained in the book Tunas Bangsa Penuh Pengorbanan, based on the analysis, it was used as teaching material for writing poetry for fourth-grade elementary school students, teaching materials were made that were interesting, innovative and easy for students to understand to increase creativity in ideas student. Data collection techniques using document analysis and analysis techniques using data reduction, data display, and data verification. Based on the research, obtained as many as 6 kinds of imagery in the book Tunas Bangsa Penuh Pengorbanan, including 45 visual images, 31 auditory images, 4 tactile images, 7 movement images, 3 smell images, and 14 intellectual images. From these findings, the book of Tunas Bangsa Penuh Pengorbanan contains quite a lot of imagery that can be used as teaching materials for elementary school students writing. This book with many varied images is very suitable to be used as a material for stimulating students' imagination when learning to write.

Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools is an education that is useful for improving students’ skills in understanding and using good language as a communication tool in oral or written form in everyday life. This era of globalization has brought developments in technology and interesting information for learning namely video. So researchers are interested in analyzing the intrinsic elements of the “Asal Usul Cikaputrian” video as an alternative teaching material for writing narrative essays. This study uses a qualitative approach and content analysis methods. The research subject is the intrinsic element contained in the dialogue “Asal Usul Cikaputrian”. The aims of this research are: (1) to describe the intrinsic elements obtained in the video of “Asal Usul Cikaputrian” folklore video (2) to describe teaching materials for writing narrative essays from the analysis of the intrinsic elements of “Asal Usul Cikaputrian” folklore video. Therefore, when teachers use teaching material in the process of learning activities to make it easier for students to understand and achieve learning success. The teaching materials were obtained from the results of the intrinsic elements analysis of the video entitled “Asal Usul Cikaputrian” from Banten. The intrinsic elements studied by the researcher are theme, character, plot, point of view, and mandate. Through alternative teaching materials for writing narrative essays for fifth-grade elementary school students, teachers can apply these teaching materials in fifth-grade elementary school, by applying these teaching materials to be able to make it easier to master material designwhen conducting learning creativity to write narrative essays for more innovative learning.

Abstract

In the implementation of a lesson, there are activities to transfer knowledge between teachers and students. During the learning process, teachers should not only provide material but must develop and prepare teaching materials. In Indonesian learning, there are skills that students must master such as writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills. Therefore, teaching materials are needed to train students to acquire these skills. In reality, teachers only use teaching materials available from package books and thematic books provided by the government. Teachers hope that there will be more varied teaching materials to better support learning and more detailed material. This study aims to analyse the content of storylines used later as teaching materials more varied and more detailed material so that students are more interested in understanding the material taught. This research uses a qualitative approach with content analysis methods. Then the data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Based on the results of the analysis, various interrelated pieces of events have been found which are referred to as storylines. Then based on the time sequence, 29 subtitles use 7 forward flow patterns and 1 sub-heading whose presenter uses 1 mixed flow pattern. This proves that the forward plot is the dominant plot used in the fairy tale book. Based on the results of the analysis in the fairy tale book, it can be concluded that learning Indonesian using appropriate teaching materials can provide the latest alternative teaching materials.

Abstract

Stylistics is one of the most important elements in shaping poetry. This study intends to analyze the language style in the Anthology of Folklore of the Special Region of Yogyakarta as an alternative to making teaching materials for writing poetry in grade IV elementary school. This research includes qualitative research using the content analysis method because this research analyzes the language style in the folklore book, the analysis is carried out by reducing the data, describing the data, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, 112 sentences were found that used the language style in this book, including the comparative language style totaling 35 data, the conflicting language style totaling 43 data, the linking language style totaling 28 data, the linking language style totaling 6 data. The language style contained in the storybook except for the metaphorical language style can be used as learning material for writing poetry in grade IV elementary school. Learning materials are made in the form of handouts containing material on writing poems, language styles for teacher's handles and student worksheets containing language style exercises and writing poems. This can be a reference for teachers to utilize authentic works in learning Indonesian about poem writing
