Abstract

Schools with Environmental Insight and Disaster Mitigation are schools that have a commitment and systematically internalize environmental values and disaster preparedness into all school activities. Madrasah Aliyah Darul Ilmi is in a transitional area of peat swamp with a plain area type that is very prone to disasters, the topography is very risky for floods, cyclones, and land fires. This study used a descriptive method with the approach of (1) counseling and discussion; (2) training; (3) simulation; (4) assistance; and (5) evaluation. Furthermore, the stages in this approach are tested through a questionnaire and visualized in the form of percentage data (%), The results obtained in the form of the level of understanding and attitudes of students towards the actualization of environmental education according to the Qur'an through the SWALIBA program. The results of this study are described as follows: (1) on the indicators of the importance of the environment for the life of students' ability to actualize themselves is Very Good with an accumulation percentage of 96.23%, this percentage has a correlation with very good knowledge and attitudes towards the environment and able to actualize it in life. (2) on indicators of sensitivity and understanding of disaster mitigation, students' actualization abilities are classified as Good with an accumulation percentage of 89.48%. This percentage correlates with the knowledge and attitudes shown by students during the school environment.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an is a holy book that does not only discuss religious issues but all dimensions of life including environmental issues. The environmental damage around us needs serious attention. One of the environmental damage causes is the lack of practice of religious values. Therefore, the role of religion in providing solutions to environmental problems is very much needed. Based on this,  it is very important to do research with the title “The Urgency of Environmental Management from the Al Qu’ran Perspective”. The research method is descriptive qualitative by explaining the concept of environmental management from the perspective of the Qur'an. The collection of data needed for this research is secondary data using Library Research (Library Studies). The approach in this study uses the approach of the science of interpretation (tafsir madhu'iy) and the science of geography because it is related to the study of the Qur'an and the environment. The result of this study indicates that the environmental elements specifically and in detail are mentioned in the Qur’an. Environmental problems that often occur in our lives are related to these elements, such as al-ardh (earth), as-sama (atmosphere), al-mâ (water), anhâr (river), jabâl/jibâl (mountain), etc. The Qur'an also mentions mujmal (generally) environmental damage as a result of the actions of human hands. The damage occurred through the human hand, so it is through human hands to fix it for the sake of realizing sustainable environmental development.

Abstract

Schools with Environmental Insight and Disaster Mitigation (SWALIBA) are part of educational institutions that are committed to and systematically integrating environmental values, and disaster preparedness attitudes into all aspects of school activities. The SWALIBA process involves three stages, namely development, progress, and service, which reflect the condition and readiness of the school to run this program. SDN Tatah Alayung is currently in the preparation stage to become a SWALIBA school, which requires physical and non-physical preparation. An assessment of the physical aspects of the school has been carried out to evaluate the readiness to implement SWALIBA at SDN Tatah Alayung, and the results will be presented in scientific articles and activity reports. The approach methods in the Community Partnership Program include counseling, discussion, training, simulation, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation of activities. Program evaluation shows that the level of student understanding at SDN Tatah Alayung is 96.79%, categorized as good. However, in terms of mitigation, training, simulation, and outreach regarding disasters in swamp areas, improvement still needs to be done because students' understanding is still below 50%. The analysis results were obtained from 53 respondents from class IV, V, and VI students. The technology that was successfully implemented involved changing attitudes and habits through outreach activities, discussions, training and simulations, as well as creating an attractive SWALIBA pocketbook for elementary school students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the level of vulnerability to forest and land fires in Tanah Laut Regency and to provide input recommendations for preventing forest and land fires related to the high areas prone to forest and land fires in Tanah Laut Regency. This study uses a mix method or quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative method is a spatial approach used for mapping the vulnerability to forest and land fires, while qualitative methods with descriptive analysis are used to provide input recommendations for preventing forest and land fires in Tanah Laut Regency. The results of this study are that the highest level of vulnerability to forest and land fires is at the High level with an area of 217,211.08 hectares or 56.51% of the total area of Tanah Laut Regency. Input recommendations for preventing forest and land fires are carried out by involving various steps, one of which is conducting a depth interview with the Manggala Agni service and the sub-district head in Tanah Laut Regency regarding the Patrol SOP carried out to prevent forest and land fires.

Abstract

Land Capability Unit refers to the process of evaluating the suitability and performance of land for specific purpose. In this context, it involves the assessment of land to determine the carrying capacity for residential land in the North Banjarmasin Sub-district. There are many potentials that can be used as attractions for residents outside the city of Banjarmasin to the study area, such as trade and service activities, education, and even health, which can have an impact on increasing the population. The increase in population is directly proportional to the increase in the need for residential. This study aims to analyze the carrying capacity of residential land in North Banjarmasin Sub-district. The results of the study showed that all villages in the study area had a DDPm value > 1, which indicates that the carrying capacity of residential land is relatively high. This value is an indicator that the area has the capacity for residents to settle.

Abstract

Indonesia menjadi salah satu negara yang tingkat potensi dan intensitas bencana alam yang tinggi di mana banjir menjadi salah satu ancaman yang paling sering menimbulkan dampak buruk bagi masyarakat. Di Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan, Kabupaten Balangan mencatat frekuensi banjir signifikan dengan 48 kejadian sepanjang 2020–2024, dengan Kecamatan Awayan sebagai wilayah paling rawan sebanyak 22 kejadian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan tingkat kerawanan dan sebaran banjir di Kecamatan Awayan, menggunakan metode skoring dan pembobotan berbasis sistem informasi geografis menggunakan enam parameter yaitu curah hujan, ketinggian, kemiringan, tekstur tanah, penggunaan lahan, dan buffer sungai kemudian enam parameter tersebut dilakukan overlay. Hasil dari penelitian ini Kecamatan Awayan masuk dalam kategori kerawanan sedang hingga cukup rawan. Secara rinci kategori sedang memiliki luas 45,46 km atau 48,86 %, kategori cukup rawan seluas 36,07 km atau 38,76 %. Kategori lain yang lebih kecil yaitu cukup aman memiliki luas 9,6 km atau 10,31 % sedangkan sangat rawan memiliki luas 1,92 km atau 2,07% dari total luas wilayah. Banjir di Kecamatan Awayan dipicu oleh faktor penggunaan lahan, ketinggian, kemiringan lereng, dan buffer sungai. Pada dataran rendah dengan vegetasi jarang dan lokasi yang dekat dengan sungai memiliki tingkat kerawanan yang lebih tinggi. Sebaliknya, wilayah dengan elevasi tinggi, lereng curam, serta vegetasi lebat cenderung lebih aman dari risiko luapan. Dengan demikian, Kecamatan Awayan didominasi oleh sedang hingga cukup rawan.
