Abstract

Wireless charging by transferring energy between two objects using electromagnetic fields commonly called Wireless power transfer is an alternative technology that is physically installed in an electric vehicle (EV) to charge. Parking alignment is a very important factor in driver behavior that affects Power transfer efficiency (PTE). The proposed hexagonal coil array design in this experiment is to optimize PTE and receiver coil size. The experimental results show that PTE in the tangential boundary plane Misalignment increases by 5-10% when compared to coil array circles and increases by 82% when compared to single coil circles.

Abstract

Satellite communication is a telecommunications technique that uses satellites as a connecting component, for example VSAT. In antenna installation, there is an important process which is called the cross-polarization. Cross-polarization is one process that cannot be released inside installation of VSAT antennas for satellite communication. Sometimes, in this process, a user queue will occur. Queuing theory explain the process is done and also calculate the other factors that are in the process. By knowing queuing theory to the cross-polarization, it will be easy to know the efficiency of queuing theory in the cross-polarization. Based on the characteristics of the cross-polarization, user can be known the queuing model that used and performance of the queuing system. The queuing model for the cross-polarization, using Kendall notation, M/M/1. Based on the analysis that has been done; by using 1 server the value of service level (ρ) is 0.67, using 2 servers = 0.33 and 3 servers = 0.22. The waiting time in the queue is longer if using 1 server which is 0.67 hours or 40 minutes. If a satellite operator uses 2 servers, waiting time in the queue is 25 minutes and 3 servers is 2.8 minutes which means that there is almost no waiting time in the queue.

Abstract

Indonesia including the earthquake-prone areas because Indonesia is situated between three tectonic plates and in the Maluku island it self has a fault line 10 zones, the impact of frequent tectonic earthquake on the island of Maluku resulted in a domino effect, such as the frequent occurrence of soil landslides at several points in the city of Ambon, and due to faults that occur lead ease rising sea levels to population centers so Ambon was becoming flooded. This research aims to design and analyzing measurements of earthquake monitoring system indication and landslides integrated via Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) by implementing a star topology, technology, ZigBee, WiFi technology Shield and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service). Researchers technology utilizes Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) to acquire and distribute widely the data to be monitored and controlled centrally.By detecting suspicious indicators such as tremor or landslides through nodes or end devices, the system provides information to the number of monitors and warnings. The system can also be accessed in real-time via the website by accessing the IP address of the Wireless-LAN devices Wi-Fi Arduino Shield.

Abstract

Engine have become one of the supportive asset for many activity and work, therefore engine need attention for its condition. The easiest way to do is through the acoustic sound of the engine itself. Most of the time, the engine sounds are checked using a traditional way that may causing a debate regarding its condition. This is due to no supportive scientific basis to know about engine condition using their own acoustic sound. A value from its frequency pattern is needed as scientific basis to determine an engine condition using acoustic sound. Method of envelope extraction by hilbert transform, fast fourier transform, and correlation coefficient are used to find that value. A series of tests have been carried out on the values that have been found and the result are promising for telling engine condition, but unfortunately the values has not been able to identify type of damage that occur on the engine.

Abstract

Complementary Split Ring Resonators were used integrated in a substrate integrated waveguide to generate passband charateristics in X-Band. Based on a parameter study with an electromagnetic commercial software, the characteristics of double and quadruple CSRRs according the reflection and transmission factor were observed. The computer simulation showed, the bandpass filter worked in the frequency range 8.12-8.63 GHz and 8.11-8.63 GHz for double and quadruple CSRR, respectively. The insertion loss was 0.12 dB and 0.015 dB. The measurement mit a vector network analyzer verified the simulation results. The frequeny range measured was 8.12-8.67 GHz and 8.12-8.61 GHz for double and quadruple CSRRs, respectively. The measured insertion loss was 0.25 dB and 0.2 dB.

Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) can be used as a solution to find out the position of an object that cannot be reached by global positioning system (GPS), for example to find out the position of objects in a room known as Indoor Positioning. One method in indoor positioning that can be used is fingerprinting. Inside there are two main work phases, namely training and positioning. The training phase is the process of collecting received signal strength indication (RSSI) data levels from each sensor Node reference that will be used as a reference value for the positioning phase. The more sensor Nodes used, the longer the processing time needed in the training phase. This research focussed on the duration of the training phase, the implementation of which are used 4 sensor Nodes, namely Zigbee (IEEE 802.15.4 protocol) arranged according to mesh network topology, one as Node X (positioning target) and 3 as reference Nodes. There are two methods used in the training phase, namely fixed target parameter (FTP) and moving target parameter (MTP). MTP took 5 seconds faster than FTP in terms of the duration of RSSI data collection from each reference Node.

Abstract

The capability to form the main beam of antennas improves the energy efficiency of wireless systems and enhances radar systems' effectiveness in detecting and tracking objects. The time-modulated array can generate multibeam with arbitrary directions in different spectral parts. This work synthesizes several linear arrays to achieve particular main beams and additional restrictions. We modify the pulse durations and the switch-on instants of the switches in each antenna element in an optimization procedure. The parameters are varied through the simulated annealing by minimizing certain cost functions. We designed three linear arrays: model 1 consists of six elements and has two beams. Model 2 is the improved version of model 1 by rejecting the sidelobes of other spectral contributions at the main beam under consideration. Model 3 consists of sixteen elements and has three different beams. The analytical results were verified by modeling the arrays in the form of microstrip arrays in a numerical simulation with HFSS. We obtained very accurate verification. Distinctive devitations at the region ϑ<-60o and ϑ>60o originate from the radiation characteristics of microstrip antennas, which focus the energy upwards to the region around ϑ=0o.
