Abstract

The development of technology has led to an influx of information in society, some of which includes conspiracies. This research aims to assess the validity and reliability of the Generic Conspiracist Beliefs (GCB) measuring instrument, which was adapted from Brotherton, French, and Pickering into Indonesian. The study involved 209 Indonesian citizens aged 18 years and over. The psychometric properties of the GCB measuring tool were analyzed using the JASP program version 0,14.1. The results of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) revealed that the GCB instrument has two factors: General Conspiracy and Extraterrestrial Cover-Up. The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) results showed that the GCB measuring tool has 14 aitems that fit well with the model fit index values of 0,067 (RMSEA), 0,904 (GFI), 0,934 (CFI), and 0,921 (TLI). The convergent validity estimates also showed that the adapted Indonesian version of the GCB measuring tool has good validity values (r=0,641; p0,05) and a high-reliability coefficient (Cronbach's alpha of 0,862). It can be concluded that the Indonesian version of the GCB measuring instrument has excellent psychometric properties

The subjects in this study were 9 elementary school teachers. The research design uses one group design with pretest and post-test. The instruments used in this study were the teacher efficacy scale and the RPI knowledge test. Data analysis used Wilcoxon signed rank test analysis with statistical software JASP version 14.0. The results of the analysis showed that the inclusion policy implementation assistance program was effective in increasing teacher knowledge (p<0.05) and teacher efficacy (p<0.05).

Abstract

Dating through social networking sites makes it easier for users to present themselves as they wish, either honestly or deceptively. This triggers the emergence of online deceptive self-presentation behavior (ODSP). Although widely found, the prevalence of this behavior in Indonesia is unknown. This study was conducted to determine the differences in ODSP in men and women in two domains, namely physical attractiveness and personal achievement. This study is a quantitative-comparative study, with a population of social networking site users aged 17-35 years. Non-probability sampling was used as a sampling technique, specifically convenience sampling. The Indonesian version of the deceptive self-presentation scale was used as a data collection tool, with a reliability of 0.834. A t-test with JASP 0.18.1.0 software was conducted to determine the mean difference between the two independent samples. This study obtained N = 315 (men = 106; women = 209) with a mean age = 22.4 years (SD = 3.1). The results of this study showed a t-value of 5.068 and p-value of <0.001, indicating a different level of ODSP between men and women. The t-value of 3.012 and p-value of 0.003 for physical attractiveness and the t-value of 6.558 and p-value of <0.001 for personal achievement indicate a different level of ODSP between men and women in both domains. Men's levels of ODSP behavior in both domains, namely physical attractiveness (mean = 1.311) and personal achievement (mean = 0.821), were higher than women's. Women's levels of ODSP behavior in physical attractiveness (mean = 0.914) and personal achievement (mean = 0.120) were lower than men's.
