Abstract

At Junior High School 4 Sungai Lilin, there is a learning community for developing English speaking skills. Learning communities are one strategy that can be used to help students improve their ability to speak (community learning and studying together). Learning community is a notion for fostering shared learning in the classroom, the learning process between teachers and students, students with other students, and even between the school community and the community outside of the school. This study sought to characterize the degree to which the learning community's effectiveness in helping high school students in class IX at Junior High School 4 Sungai Lilin learn English at its height, as determined by experimental design research employing a pretest-posttest control group. Additionally, data were gathered by observation, and both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to assess oral tests. The findings demonstrated that the learning community is useful in raising the English proficiency of class IX junior high school students at Sungai Lilin. It is based on data analysis that revealed that students who take classes that integrate learning in the learning community have an average test speaking competence that is greater than that of students who take classes where such integration is not a part of the learning community

Abstract

Learning English in an immersive environment is increasingly relevant to improving student competence in the era of globalization. This research highlights crucial issues related to the effectiveness of immersivebased learning in Kampung Inggris Pare, Kediri, East Java. The problem identified was the lack of an in-depth study of the relationship between students' perceptions and their learning outcomes in an environment that supports intensive use of English. This study explores students' perceptions of immersive-based learning and its impact on their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a research sample of 50 students from the Domestic English course, data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed a significant improvement in students' English skills, with an average increase in post-test scores of 25% compared to the pre-test. Thematic analysis reveals that facilities, programs, learning methods, and environments support active student engagement. The study concluded that the immersive environment contributed significantly to the effectiveness of English language learning

Abstract

Abstract

The existence, dynamics, and applicability of English language instruction at the basic school level to the disruptive technology era are all covered in detail in this study. This paper aims to characterize research problems using descriptive-analytical approaches and research methodologies of the literature study type, utilizing literature data from pertinent books, journals, papers, and scientific publications. This study outlines a number of prerequisites for English language instruction in the modern day, including infrastructure and technology, curriculum and instructional strategies, certified teachers, instructional materials and resources, and parental support. The results also show that there are opportunities that can be targeted, such as more extensive access to language learning materials, dynamic and interesting learning opportunities, global connectivity and language exchange, digital applications for language practice, and the provision of a useful system for evaluation and feedback. In the meanwhile, issues include unequal access to technology, unequal user technical proficiency, linguistic difficulties, students' short attention spans and lack of focus, and threats to digital security.
