Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Wordwall on students’ understanding of fraction concepts in grade III at SDN 88 Palembang. The research used a true experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample was randomly selected: class III C as the experimental group and class III A as the control group, with 32 students in each class. The research instrument was a test of fraction concept understanding, given before and after the treatment. Data analysis using the t-test showed a significant difference between the posttest scores of the experimental and control groups. The experimental group obtained an average score of 81.59, while the control group scored 71.44. A significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 indicates that the PBL model assisted by Wordwall had a significant effect on improving students’ understanding of fraction concepts. Thus, it can be concluded that the PBL model assisted by Wordwall is effective in teaching fractions to enhance the conceptual understanding of grade III students at SDN 88 Palembang.

Abstract

This article explains a study that aims to find out how the validity, feasibility, and benefit of a scientific approach-based Mathematics module for elementary school students at grade IV toward two-dimensional materials. The research method used is research and development. The method used for data collection was a questionnaire. The results of research and development were conducted with several stages by using the 4D development research model. The results of the module validity that were based on the validation of material experts were 93% categorized as very valid, 95% from linguists were categorized as very valid, 92% from media experts were categorized as very valid, and the feasibility based on the assessment of the teacher's responses with a percentage of 93% was categorized as very feasible. Subsequently, the assessment of the module feasibility based on student responses by 10 indicators was obtained 92% categorized as very feasible. Thus, the learning media for the mathematics module based on a scientific approach was very feasible to be used for elementary school students at grade IV.

Abstract

The problem in this study was that students were in a passive state in learning activities, causing a lack of learning activities. This was because the teacher did not apply learning models or learning media when providing materials. The population in this study were grade five students of SD Negeri 15 Sungailiat. In this study, class VB students were grouped as the experimental class who were taught by using Make A Matching model with the aid of graphic media, and class VA students were grouped as the control class who were taught by using a conventional model. The total number of samples in this study were 31 students in each class. The method used in this study was a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design type of nonequivalent control group design. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, questionnaires, and documents. The data analysis technique used the ttest (independent sample t-test) with the help of SPPS Version 23. The results of this study indicated that Ha was accepted or there was a significant difference in students’ learning activities in the control class and the experimental class. This was seen from the results of sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, with an average score difference of 34.36%. Thus, this study concluded that Make A Matching model assisted by graphic media were more effective to increase students’ learning

Abstract

The fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Puding Besar have difficulty in understanding the material and heat because the presented material is not appropriated to the students’ character. It makes their learning outcomes to be unfinished. In addition, the students are not aware of the various local wisdom around them. The purpose of the study in this article was designed to develop local wisdom-based students worksheets on the valid, practical, and effective temperature and heat materials for class V. The method used was a Research and Development (R&D) research by using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the study were a score for an average material expert of 96,65% with the criteria of very valid. The average score for media experts was 91,3% with the very valid criteria. The results of practicality by the classroom teacher were a score of 80% with the practical criteria. Whilst the product of practicality based on three students, small group, and large group was an average score of 92,84% with the criteria of very practical. The results of the effectiveness test product for class V was a score of 70,27% with the criteria of good. Thus, the local wisdom-based student worksheets on temperature and heat material for class V were valid, practical, and effective to use in the students’ learning process of class V at SDN 1 Puding Besar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher’s strategies in implementing the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5) in fourth-grade mathematics learning at SDN 55 Prabumulih. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, validated using triangulation, and analyzed through data reduction and data presentation to obtain an overview of the instructional strategies used by the teacher. The results of the study show that the teacher applied various strategies aligned with the six dimensions of P5. In the dimension of faith and noble character, the teacher linked the material to religious values and fostered habits of honesty and discipline. In the dimension of global diversity, the teacher encouraged students to appreciate differences through group discussions. In the dimension of cooperation, the teacher assigned roles and facilitated student collaboration. In the dimension of independence, the teacher provided independent tasks and opportunities for students to try solving problems individually. In the dimension of critical reasoning, the teacher provided problems that could be solved using various methods and asked students to explain the reasoning behind their chosen strategies. In the dimension of creativity, the teacher allowed students to discover unique ways to solve problems and engage in simple projects. Overall, the teacher’s strategies successfully integrated P5 into mathematics learning and supported the development of students’ character and thinking skills
