Abstract

This community service was aimed at increasing knowledge to prevent hypertension by utilizing the role of mother cadres of PKK, which stands for Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga, a hamlet/village-level association focusing on family welfare and empowerment. These cadres are representatives of neighborhood associations (RT/Rukun Tetangga) in the village area. This community empowerment was held through counseling lectures. This activity was carried out in 2022; the data, which were the participants’ responses, were collected using pretest and post-test questionnaires. The sampling was carried out using accidental sampling with a cross-sectional design. This activity targeted 30 PKK mothers as representatives from each neighborhood in Karangrejo Village, Banyuwangi Regency. This empowerment increased the knowledge of the target community regarding the prevention of hypertension by 22.7 points. The average score of the participants’ pretest was 52.26, and that of the post-test was 74.96. This is in line with studies that found that community service activities carried out using the roles of cadres and the elderly showed optimal results in increasing the target communities’ knowledge in the operation of tensimeters and measuring blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol as well as increasing knowledge of cadres and the elderly in hypertension management, and dietary management of hypertension. The SHOPI Project (Education on Hypertension Prevention) effectively enhances public awareness regarding hypertension prevention, with a focus on women from the PKK community in Karangrejo Village, Banyuwangi Regency.

Abstract

Introduction: Organizational success is influenced by the performance of each employee in it. Work stress experienced by the employees is one of the obstacles in improving the quality of the organization. Another research showed that employees of Manado City Health Office experienced 27.7% low stress and 72.3% moderate stress, which affected the work productivity of the employees. This research aims to see the relationship between gender and exercise habits on the stress experienced by the employees of Surabaya City Health Office. Method: This research is an observational type of research where the primary data were obtained from the responses of 32 employees of the Surabaya City Health Office. The data were collected by using a questionnaire based on the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower No. 5 of 2018 concerning Occupational Health and Safety in the Work Environment. The primary data obtained were then analyzed using cross-tabulation in a data processing software. Result: This research shows that, with an alpha of 5% (0.005), the relationship between gender and work stress events has a significance value of 0.013, while the relationship between exercise habits and work stress events has a significance value of 0.006. Conclusion: This research shows that there is a significant relationship between gender and exercise habits on stress events in Surabaya City Health Office employees. Women employees experience a higher incidence of work stress than male employees. Furthermore, the habit of exercising can reduce stress events because exercising can stimulate endorphins which play a role in creating a sense of calm, reducing pain, and releasing tension

Abstract

Background: Employee turnover intention is a significant challenge for organizations, impacting productivity and operational costs. Understanding its contributing factors is crucial for effective human resource management. Purpose: To analyze the influence of work stress, workload, and work environment on employee turnover intention across various sectors in Indonesia. Methods: A systematic review of research articles published between 2020 and 2022 was conducted using the PRISMA-P approach. Literature research was performed through electronic databases using predefined keywords. Results: Work stress and workload generally showed significant positive effects on turnover intention (p < 0.05 in most studies). Work environment typically demonstrated a significant negative effect (p < 0.05), with one exception. Simultaneous analysis revealed substantial contributions of these factors to turnover intention, with an explained variance reaching up to 75.2%. One study found a non-significant negative relationship between work stress and turnover intention, highlighting the complexity of these relationships. Conclusion: Work stress, workload, and work environment significantly influence employee turnover intention, though effects may vary across contexts. A comprehensive approach in human resource management, focusing on these factors, is crucial for enhancing employee retention and organizational productivity.
