Abstract

This research overcomes the problem of traditional assessments in Plane and Spatial Geometry courses which are often unable to measure students' mathematical spatial abilities effectively. Thus, the aim of this research is to develop and evaluate a computer-based assessment instrument using Articulate Storyline which is designed to improve the quality and efficiency of evaluation in this course. The research methodology follows the ADDIE development model, starting with an analysis of the needs of 2nd semester students of the Mathematics Department, FMIPA, Medan State University (UNIMED), followed by design, development, implementation and evaluation. The research results show that this instrument has a high level of validity and reliability, with the majority of students showing good skills in using digital devices and supporting network access. This instrument also received positive responses from students and lecturers, demonstrating its effectiveness in increasing engagement and understanding of the material. In conclusion, this computer-based instrument succeeded in improving the quality of evaluation, although this research was limited to several chapters and one institution. It is recommended that future research expand the scope of materials and implementation contexts to test the generalizability of results as well as overcome network access barriers, opening opportunities for further innovation in academic assessment.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa adalah melalui pengembangan E-LKPD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan E-LKPD Interaktif berbantuan Liveworksheets yang valid, praktis dan efektif yang dapat digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis Siswa. Kami menggunakan model ADDIE untuk menghasilkan E-LKPD yang idea dan menstimulus siswa untuk berpikir kritis. Kami melibatkan sebanyak 35 siswa SMA Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak. Selanjutnya, kami menggunakan instrimen berupa lembar validasi terhadap angket respon siswa dan guru, lembar validasi terhadap media dan materi, angket respon guru dan siswa dan instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E-LKPD berbantuan liveworksheets memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa E-LKPD memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap pemikiran kritis siswa dan dapat dijadikan sebagai acuan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar matematika Siswa SMA Negeri 1 Sunggal kelad XI5. Motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu faktor yang sangat penting dalam mempengaruhi keberhasilan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Prestasi belajar siswa dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya adalah motivasi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran sejauh mana motivasi belajar memengaruhi prestasi belajar matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pendekatan Kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan hasil tes prestasi matematika siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan seberapa besar pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa SMA 1 Sunggal kelas XI 5 dapat dilihat dari hasil R Square yang dalam penelitian ini didapat 0,448 sehingga diperoleh KD = 44,8 %, artinya sebesar 44.8% faktor yang mempengaruhi prestasi belajar siswa, sedangkan 55,2 % dipengaruhi faktor lain.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Discovery Learning terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar Matematika siswa kelas X MIA di SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kuis. Model Discovery Learning memungkinkan siswa secara mandiri mengeksplorasi konsep dan menyelesaikan masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-eksperimen dengan dua kelompok: kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model Discovery Learning dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest, ditemukan bahwa kedua kelas memiliki distribusi data normal dan varian homogen. Namun, hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rata-rata skor pretest, sementara posttest tidak menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas. Dengan demikian, model Discovery Learning tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar Matematika siswa. Faktor-faktor seperti durasi implementasi, kesiapan siswa, serta keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan metode ini kemungkinan berpengaruh terhadap hasil penelitian.

Abstract

Tea is one of the most popular beverages in the world. Produced from Camellia sinensis leaves, tea has been studied to provide health benefits due to the content of important metabolites. This study aimed to investigate the catechin contents, antioxidant, and antibacterial activities of Indonesian tea varieties, namely green tea, black tea, and white tea. Tea infusion was prepared by extracting 1 g of each sample into 10 mL of distilled water and incubated at 80 °C for 60 min. The catechin and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) contents of tea extracts were determined using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Antioxidant activity was measured using the free radical method with 2,2-diphenyl-1-pycrylhidrazyl (DPPH), while antimicrobial activity was assesed using paper disc diffusion assay. The results indicated that green tea had the highest contents of catechin (646 ± 17.14 mg/L) and EGCG (997.8 ± 36.72 mg/L), and antioxidant activity with IC50 of 5.65 µg/mL. Furthermore, green tea and white tea extracts showed inhibitory activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Micrococcus luteus, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus aureus whereas black tea had no activity against all bacterial strains tested. Generally, we concluded that white tea and green tea contributed to the higher content of catechins and exhibited strong antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

Abstract

The current interest in exploring white-rot fungi has been concentrated in increasing their ligninolityc enzyme production such as laccase and manganese peroxidase (MnP) due to the great value in industrial application. The presence of appropiate inducers can enhance the enzyme production. Hence, the aim of the study was to investigate the activity of laccase and MnP in response to various aromatic compounds. The fungus Trametes hirsuta was cultured in Glucose Yeast Peptone (GYP) broth (pH 5.0) with the addition of 0.5% of sorghum biomass as substrate. The cultures were then incubated on rotary shaker at 150 rpm at 27oC. The 7-day-old cultures were then supplemented with different aromatic compounds, namely caffeic acid, gallic acid, syringic acid, trans-cinnamic acid, vanillin, and veratryl alcohol. Our results demonstrated that veratryl alcohol, gallic acid and vanillin gave an inductive effect on the value of laccase and MnP activities, with vanillin showing the highest induction. On the contrary, the level of laccase and MnP activities remained low in the presence of aromatic compound such as syringic acid, trans-cinnamic acid and caffeic acid. To conclude, our study reveals that aromatic compounds can be potential as inducers and may contribute to the improvement of laccase and MnP productivity by T. hirsuta.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of workload on the performance of marketing employees at CV. Putra Jaya Perkasa. This research was conducted at CV. Putra Jaya Perkasa on Jl. Parit Indah No.70 G, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. The population in this study were employees of the marketing department at CV. Putra Jaya Perkasa numbered 33 people. In determining the number of samples, researchers used a census that took part of the population represented by 32 marketing employees. The results of the research on the research model and the submission of hypotheses proposed in this study produced the following conclusions: Based on the statistical value of the workload t is 3.759 with a significance value of 0.001. These results indicate that workload affects the performance of marketing employees at CV. Putra Jaya Perkasa. The number of correlations (R) is 0.320 where these numbers indicate that the workload on the performance of marketing employees at CV. Putra Jaya Perkasa has 32% influence. So it can be concluded that the workload affects the performance of marketing department employees on the CV. Putra Jaya Perkasa

Abstract

The production of manganase peroxidase (MnP, a key lignolityc enzyme with broad applications in bioremediation and industrial processing, can be significantly enhanced trough the optimation of medium composition and fermentation time. This study aimed to determine the optimal organic medium, concentration, and incubation period for MnP production by Pleurotus ostreatus. Various plant-base substrates such as brown rice, mungbean, almond, red bean soybean, and potato dextrose broth (PDB) were evaluated using a descriptive method, withvthe obtained data calculated and analyzed in Excel, and the results presented in the form of diagrams. The results showed that brown rice medium is the most optimal medium to support the produvction of MnP (981,6 U/L), attribute to its high carbohydrate and micronutrien content. Futher optimization revealed that a consentration of 7,5%, while fermentation time optimization indicated that the 9th day was optima, producing up to 3207,1 U/L of enzyme activity. These findings suggest that selecting the right substrate and fermentation conditions can substantially improve MnP synthesis by P. ostreatus, making it a promising strategy for sustainable enzyme production and future biotecnological application. For future studies, it is recommended to explore large scale fermentation systems and alternative agro industrial waste susbtrates to further enhance enzyme yield and cost efficiency

Abstract

A persistent challenge in mathematics education is students limited creative thinking ability. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a learning module in enhancing students’ creative thinking skills. A one-group pretest–posttest design was employed, involving 32 eighth-grade students from a junior high school in Medan, Indonesia. The instruments included pretest and posttest measures of creative thinking ability, observation sheets documenting the implementation of the learning process, and a learning module integrating deep learning principles with local cultural elements. Data were analyzed using paired-sample t-tests for normally distributed data and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests for non-normally distributed data. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ creative thinking abilities following the implementation of the module, with a notably large effect size observed among male students (Cohen’s d = 4.12). This finding suggests the presence of individual differences in learning responses; however, it should be interpreted with caution, as gender was not the primary focus of the study. Accordingly, further research is recommended to investigate the role of gender in deep learning–based instruction, particularly when integrated with local cultural contexts

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mathematics education provides convenience in understanding concepts quickly and adaptively, but it also raises potential risks to students’ mathematical reasoning processes. This study aims to examine the risk of erosion of mathematical reasoning due to the use of AI in mathematics learning. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) through the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion of relevant articles. Data sources were obtained from scientific articles indexed in Google Scholar published between 2021 and 2026 with active DOIs. The data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic synthesis to identify patterns of research findings. The results indicate that AI is effective in supporting initial conceptual understanding and improving learning outcomes, although the effect tends to be moderate. However, the use of AI also has the potential to create cognitive dependency, reduce the exploration of problem-solving strategies, and weaken students’ confidence in their own mathematical reasoning. These findings highlight an indication of the erosion of mathematical reasoning as an indirect impact of uncontrolled AI use. Therefore, the use of AI needs to be balanced with pedagogical strategies that emphasize active student engagement in the thinking process. ABSTRAK Perkembangan Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam pembelajaran matematika memberikan kemudahan dalam memahami konsep secara cepat dan adaptif, namun juga memunculkan potensi risiko terhadap proses penalaran matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji risiko erosi penalaran matematis akibat penggunaan AI dalam pembelajaran matematika. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) melalui tahapan identifikasi, penyaringan, penentuan kelayakan, dan inklusi artikel. Sumber data berasal dari artikel ilmiah terindeks Google Scholar dengan rentang tahun 2021–2026 dan memiliki DOI aktif. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik content analysis dan thematic synthesis untuk mengidentifikasi pola temuan penelitian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa AI efektif dalam mendukung pemahaman awal konsep dan meningkatkan hasil belajar, meskipun pengaruhnya cenderung moderat. Namun, penggunaan AI juga berpotensi menimbulkan ketergantungan kognitif, mengurangi eksplorasi strategi pemecahan masalah, serta menurunkan kepercayaan siswa terhadap penalaran matematisnya sendiri. Temuan ini menegaskan adanya indikasi erosi penalaran matematis sebagai dampak tidak langsung dari penggunaan AI yang tidak terkontrol. Oleh karena itu, pemanfaatan AI perlu diimbangi dengan strategi pedagogis yang menekankan keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses berpikir.
