Abstract

Ikan Banggai kardinal (Pterapogon kauderni) merupakan jenis ikan hias air laut endemik yang ada di Sulawesi Tengah. Eksploitasi secara masif menyebabkan jumlah ikan P. kauderni di alam semakin menurun. Ikan P. kauderni jantan bersifat parental care dalam kegiatan reproduksinya sehingga dalam peningkatan kualitas benih dan kegiatan reproduksinya dibutuhkan jumlah induk jantan yang lebih banyak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari perlakuan kombinasi hormon 17α-methyltestosteron (MT) dengan suhu melalui perendaman larva P. kauderni dalam menghasilkan persentase kelamin jantan yang tinggi. Perlakuan yang diujikan yakni; A) perendaman larva P. kauderni pada suhu 28˚C tanpa hormon MT (NMT+suhu 28˚C); B) perendaman larva P. kauderni pada suhu 28˚C dan hormon MT (MT+suhu 28˚C); C) perendaman larva P. kauderni pada suhu 34˚C tanpa MT (NMT+suhu 34˚C); D) perendaman larva P. kauderni pada suhu 34˚C dan hormon MT (MT+suhu 34˚C), masing-masing dengan lama perendaman 4 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase jantan P. kauderni lebih tinggi (P0,05) pada semua perlakuan MT dengan suhu 28˚C dan 34˚C dibandingkan dengan perlakuan tanpa MT pada suhu 28˚C. Laju pertumbuhan harian lebih tinggi pada perlakuan MT dan NMT pada suhu 34˚C (P0,05) dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Pertambahan biomasa dan kelangsungan hidup tidak berbeda untuk semua perlakuan. Kesimpulan, perendaman kombinasi hormon 17α-methyltestosteron dan suhu yang berbeda meningkatkan persentase kelamin jantan, ikan Banggai cardinal (P. kauderni).

Abstract

Community empowerment activities on the la-laeisland of Makassar is to train and improve community skills inprocessing fishery products and utilizing household waste tobe used as trinkets. Partner problems are Teenage women orfishermen who do not have a permanent job who every dayonly works to help his parents at home and various otherunproductive activities and fishermen mothers who have thetalent to create new jobs such as the processing of fisheryproducts that are abundant on this island. The solution offeredis training and mentoring related to the manufacture oftrinkets from household waste and abundant fisheryprocessing on lae-Lae Island. Based on the results of thisactivity, then teenage women become skilled in makingtrinkets from household waste and can be judged as a sourceof livelihood or used for their own purposes. Besides that, thefishermen mothers also skilled in processing fishery productswhich can be used for own needs and sold as a source ofincome.

Abstract

Salah satu pengendalian penyakit akibat jamur pada telur ikan mas adalah adalah dengan memanfaatkan tanaman tradisional yang bersifat anti jamur seperti penggunaan daun kemangi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) terhadap daya tetas telur ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) yang terserang jamur. Pemberian ekstrak daun kemangi (Ocimum basilicum L.) diharapkan mampu meningkatkan daya tetas telur ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) yang terserang oleh jamur. Desain penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perbedaan dari dosis ektrak daun kemangi antara lain Perlakuan A (0 mg/L), B (55 mg/L), C (60 mg/L), D (65 mg/L), dan E (70 mg/L). Perlakuan dilakukan dengan merendam telur ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) ke dalam media perndaman selama 20 menit, kemudian telur ikan mas dimasukan kembali ke dalam wadah penetasan, selanjutnya telur diamati menggunakan mikroskop setiap 1×120 menit. Data prevalensi dan data Hatching rate dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam ANOVA dengan bantuan minitab 16. Jika terdapat perbedaan perlakuan maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Data kelangsungan hidup dan data kualitas air dianalisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pemberian daun kemangi berpengaruh nyata terhadap daya tetas telur ikan mas. Perlakuan dengan dosis 65 mg/L daun kemangi menghasilkan daya tetas telur tertinggi.

Abstract

Gouramy (Oshpronemus gouramy Lac. 1801) is a native Indonesian fish that has a high market with relatively expensive prices. One of the obstacles commonly faced in the cultivation of gouramy is its slow growth. Silkworm (Tubifex sp.) is a type of natural feed with a high protein to support the accelerated growth of gouramy. The purpose of this study was to determine the absolute weight growth and survival of gouramy with different doses of silkworms. This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Giving silkworms in Treatment 1 (P1) was 10%, Treatment 2 (P2) 15%, Treatment 3 (P3) 20% and Treatment 4 (P4) 25% of the weight of the biomass. The results of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that silkworm with different doses has significantly different results (P<0.05) on absolute weight growth of gouramy. Then, treatment 4 showed the highest absolute weight growth of 0.0444 g. Meanwhile, the survival of gouramy showed results that were not significantly different (P>0.05).

Abstract

Pantai Lero kini mulai ramai dikunjungi wisatawan berkat adanya warung makan Rono Dange (makanan khas ikan teri bakar lokal), sebuah warung makan bergaya kios di sepanjang pantai. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan pencemaran lingkungan dan masalah banyaknya buangan ke laut akibat aktivitas di dekat pantai. Salah satu upaya yang diharapkan dalam menunjang kebersihan pantai adalah inisiatif seluruh lapisan masyarakat. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini selain untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat sekitar akan kebersihan lingkungan pesisir, juga dapat membantu masyarakat memahami bahwa sampah yang dihasilkan berdampak negatif terhadap perkembangan ekosistem, ekologi laut, dan biota. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode observasi dan partisipasi dengan pendekatan langsung untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterlibatan masyarakat di sepanjang Pantai Lero. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini selain dapat mengembangkan pemikiran masyarakat tentang pencegahan pencemaran lingkungan pantai, juga berdampak pada kebersihan lingkungan pantai untuk meningkatkan daya tarik wisatawan ke pantai Lero. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan melibatkan 20 peserta dari kalangan masyarakat pesisir, tokoh desa dan kelompok pemuda untuk meningkatkan kesadaran tentang pariwisata. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah membuang sampah-sampah di sepanjang pantai Lero khususnya sampah plastik, kemudian meningkatkan kesadaran akan bahaya sampah plastik bagi lingkungan perairan. Abstract

Introduction: Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is one of the leading commodities of freshwater aquaculture in Indonesia. The problem that is often experienced by farmers is the absorption of fish feed nutrients that are less than optimal, due to the low quality of feed raw materials. The study aims to determine the effect of adding probiotics to feed on growth and survival, in tilapia (O. Niloticus) fry. Method: The test organisms used in this study were tilapia (O. niloticus) as many as 200 fish with an initial weight of 1.09-1.28 g/head. Tilapia seeds were obtained from UPR Saluyu, Dolo sub-district, Sigi district, Central Sulawesi. The design used was a complete randomized design (CRD). Results and Discussion: Variables observed were daily weight growth rate (LPBH), absolute weight growth (PBM), survival rate, feed conversion ratio (CTR), and water quality. Conclusion: The results showed that the highest absolute weight growth in tilapia was found in treatment D (8 mL probiotics) which was 2.04 g, the specific growth rate was (2.86% / day), and the feed conversion ratio produced (1.57), while the survival rate of tilapia obtained during maintenance was (80.00-84.00%).

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the growth of E. cottonii seaweed at different initial weights and spacings that were cultivated off the bottom of the waters. Seaweed seedlings of E. cottonii were reared for 42 days. This study used a RAL with a factorial pattern which consisted of 2 factors, namely factor J (planting distance) and factor B (seed weight). Factor J consisted of 3 levels (20 cm, 30 cm and 40 cm) and factor B consisted of 3 levels (50 g, 75 g and 100 g), so that 27 experimental units were obtained. The data were analyzed for variance before being tested for the fulfillment of the basic assumptions of analysis of variance, namely the Kolmogorov-Smirnov data distribution test, the Bartlett treatment similarity test and the Tukey Method model additiveness test using excel and Minitab 16 application programs. The results showed that the difference in plant spacing had no effect (P>0.05) on the absolute perturbation weight. The highest treatment combination was found in the combination of 30 cm spacing with an initial weight of 50 g (J2B3) and the lowest was in the combination of 30 cm spacing with an initial weight of 100 g (J2B1). Differences in initial weight (50, 75 and 100 g) had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on absolute weight growth. The higher the initial weight used, the absolute weight growth of E. cottonii increased with an increase in average weight ranging from 260.34 to 435.92 grams.

Abstract

The striped snakehead (Channa striata Bloch, 1793) is a freshwater fish which has long been popular as a food fish. Commonly found in freshwater bodies such as rivers, swamps and lakes, striped snakeheads have a high albumin protein content which can help to accelerate wound healing, facilitate the circulation of body fluids and maintain osmotic pressure in the body. Salinity is one of the limiting factors that can affect fish growth and survival. Changes in salinity could directly affect striped snakehead growth and metabolism. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different salinity treatments on the growth and albumin content of juvenile striped snakeheads. The research was conducted in November-December 2021 at the Water Quality and Aquatic Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Tadulako University, Indonesia. The study applied 5 salinity treatments (2 ppt, 4 ppt, 6 ppt, 8 ppt and 10 ppt) with 8 replicates for 30 days. Net weight gain, specific growth rate (weight and length) and survival rate did not differ significantly between treatments (ANOVA, P>0.05). The Tukey post-hoc test indicated significantly higher growth under the 8 ppt salinity treatment (1.04±0,19 cm) with 100% survival rate. Albumin content increased linearly with salinity from 2 ppt (3.6-4.0%) to 10 ppt (4.9-5.3 %).

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase fish consumption as a source of quality protein by making fish-based dimsum. This activity was carried out in Tondo Village, Mantikulore District, Palu City, Central Sulawesi in 2024 involving 30 participants from various backgrounds, including housewives and teenagers. The methods used include counseling regarding nutritional needs, demonstrations of making fish dim sum, and direct practice by participants. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in processing fish, as well as good acceptance of fish dimsum products in terms of taste and nutrition. Apart from meeting the family's nutritional needs, this activity opens up opportunities for fish-based small businesses. It is hoped that this activity can contribute to increasing fish consumption and sustainable community welfare.

Abstract

Dinamika populasi ikan cakalang khususnya pertumbuhan dan perkembangbiakan sangat dipengaruhi oleh faktor eksternal dibanding internal. Informasi tentang parameter dinamika populasi ikan ini selalu berbeda di setiap fishing ground. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis parameter dinamika populasi ikan cakalang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi melalui pengukuran langsung secara in-situ di PP Ogotua. Jumlah sampel ikan cakalang yang dibutuhkan dalam pengukuran yaitu 100 ekor yang diambil secara simple random sampling setiap bulannya dari hasil tangkapan alat purse seine, sehingga jumlah ikan yang terukur selama 3 bulan sebanyak 300 ekor. Hasil analisis panjang bobot ikan diperoleh nilai persamaan regresi eksponensial pada bulan Mei, yaitu  W = 0,0023*L3,5338, Juni W = 0,0025*L3,4949, dan Juli W = 0,0028*L3,4706. Jumlah kohort pada bulan Mei ditemukan 2 puncak dengan ukuran 28,5 cm dan 36,0; bulan Juni juga ditemukan 2 puncak dengan ukuran 29,5 cm dan 36,0 cm dan bulan Juli ditemukan 2 puncak dengan ukuran 29,0 cm dan 36,0 cm. Nilai Lc diperoleh sebesar 32,4 cm dalam interval kelas 32-34 cm, nilai ini lebih kecil dari nilai Lm sebesar 34,5 cm dalam interval kelas 34-35 cm. Hasil analisis estimasi parameter pertumbuhan ikan cakalang dengan nilai Lꝏ sebesar 46,80 cm dan K sebesar 0,51 dan t0 sebesar 0,0032 per tahun. Pertumbuhan ikan cakalang di Perairan Laut Sulawesi relatif sedang dengan pola pertumbuhan alometrik positif dimana telah mengalami tangkap lebih atau overfishing.
