Abstract

Materi pecahan masih menjadi permasalahan bagi banyak siswa di sekolah dasar, khususnya yang melibatkan soal cerita matematika. Pada kenyataannya, sebagian besar siswa dapat menyelesaikan materi pecahan secara aritmatika, namun kesulitan jika diminta untuk menggambarkanya secara visual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan representasi visual siswa kelas V sekolah dasar dalam menyelesaikan masalah pecahan berbentuk soal cerita. Metode penelitian yang digunakan mengikuti kaidah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Sebanyak 23 siswa kelas V mengisi lembar tes kemampuan representasi visual yang kemudian dikelompokkan berdasarkan kategori kemampuan matematika. Dari 23 siswa, 6 orang dipilih untuk mewakili kategori kemampuan matematika untuk diwawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semua partisipan memiliki kemampuan representasi visual yang beragam. Siswa dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi mampu merepresentasikan konsep pecahan ke dalam bentuk gambar dengan tepat, namun tidak dengan siswa berkemampuan sedang yang kurang tepat dalam merepresentasikan pecahan ke dalam bentuk gambar. Selanjutnya, siswa dengan kemampuan matematika rendah tidak mampu menyelesaikan masalah pecahan menggunakan gambar dengan tepat. Hasil penelitian ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya mengajarkan dan memberikan pemahaman terkait dengan materi pecahan yang tidak hanya berpusat pada kemampuan aritmatika saja, namun terlebih penting lagi menekankan pengajaran konsep pecahan menggunakan representasi yang mengedepankan sisi visual.

Abstract

School closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in learning loss in primary students, so a diagnosis of the students' numeracy skills is urgently needed at the beginning of learning to adapt learning to students' average ability levels (teaching at the right levels). This study aims to develop a module that can assist and become a reference for teachers in schools in diagnosing and mapping students' numeracy abilities at the beginning of learning. This research was carried out following the procedures for research and development (R&D). The developed module was validated by two experts (media and material experts) prior to implementation with the validation results being in very good categories for each aspect of the material, layout, and graphics. The results of the study based on the teacher's response questionnaire indicated that the module developed is very helpful for the teachers in mapping students' numeracy abilities at the beginning of learning after the COVID-19 pandemic, and it provides an alternative follow-up to the results of students' numeracy assessments. Thus, the developed module is suitable for use as a reference in conducting assessments regarding early primary school students’ numeracy skills.

Abstract

Mathematics education is taught to students from the basic level with the aim of equipping them with various skills, such as logical, analytical, systematic, critical, and creative thinking abilities, as well as the ability to work together. One of the abilities that is measured is cognitive ability. Cognitive ability involves the thinking process in the form of generally recognizing depicted objects and can be expressed in ideas, responses, or values. This mathematics learning activity also certainly involves problems in solving mathematical story problems. The procedure for solving story problems certainly involves steps for resolution, namely by using problem-solving according to Polya's theory. This research aims to describe students' cognitive abilities in solving word problems based on Polya's theory. The research instrument used in this study was a test, confirmed through interviews. The research results show that students with moderate ability are unable to solve problems in the cognitive category of applying (calculating indicator) and creating (designing indicator) especially in the Polya stage of checking, because the checking process is not found in their answer sheets. Meanwhile, students with low ability also cannot solve problems in the applying cognitive category (calculating indicator) and creating cognitive category (designing indicator), and are unable to solve story problems using Polya's stages of planning, executing, and checking. Thus, it can be concluded that students' ability to solve LOTS and HOTS questions is still at a low level because they find it difficult to work on questions in the cognitive domains of applying and creating.

Abstract

This study aims to develop STEM-based teaching modules for primary 4 students that are integrated with the Pancasila Student Profile. This research was conducted according to developmental research (R&D) procedures. The modules were developed based on the needs of teachers and students obtained through observation, interviews, and a diagnostic test to students. The validation from experts on the modules showed very good categories for each material, layout and graphics aspect. Moreover, the modules developed are considered very practical to teachers in class, while students’ responses for the learning using the modules are very positive. Hence, the students' learning achievements are very satisfactory.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) untuk kelas IV  dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) pada materi wujud zat dan perubahannya di SDN 032 Tarakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (RD) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap: Analysis (analisis), Design (desain), Development (pengembangan), Implementation (implementasi), dan Evaluation (evaluasi). Hasil validasi ahli materi diperoleh skor persentase sebesar 95%, validasi ahli bahasa diperoleh skor persentase sebesar  94,4%, validasi ahli media diperoleh skor persentase sebesar 92,5%, dan validasi ahli praktisi diproleh skor persentase sebesar 92,5% sehingga mendapat skor rata-rata persentase yaitu sebesar 93,6% dengan kategori sangat valid. Adapun hasil respon siswa terhadap kemenarikan LKPD pada saat uji coba terbatas diperoleh skor persentase sebesar 79% dengan kategori menarik dan 83% pada uji coba lapangan dengan kategori sangat menarik.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a teaching module on fractions for 5th-grade elementary school students, designed using a realistic approach and tailored for implementation within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. The development research employed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), which was evaluated through expert validation of media and content, as well as student interest response and teacher practicality response regarding the module. The validation results from both media and content experts indicated that the developed module was highly suitable, with percentage scores of 94% and 95%, respectively. Additionally, student responses to the learning experiences facilitated by teachers using the developed module were highly positive, ranging from interested to highly interested. Moreover, teacher responses regarding the practicality, effectiveness, efficiency, and creativity of the developed module obtained a percentage score of 98%, signifying excellent quality. These research findings demonstrate that the developed teaching module is both suitable and practical for use by teachers in teaching fractions to 5th-grade elementary school students, with the learning experiences facilitated by this module receiving positive responses from students.

Abstract

This research aims to design and simulate an automatic distance measuring system based on Arduino Uno, utilizing the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and a 16x2 LCD. The system was simulated within the Tinkercad virtual environment, enabling students to explore electronic concepts without relying on physical hardware. The simulation results demonstrated that the system could measure object distances accurately within a range of 2 cm to 400 cm, displaying the results in real time on the LCD. Tinkercad provides flexibility for experimentation, allowing students to understand the integration of hardware and software, including digital data processing and microcontroller programming. The system’s versatile applications include robotics, automatic parking systems, and distance-based security solutions. Despite its effectiveness, the system has limitations, such as sensitivity to environmental conditions and a restricted measurement range. Additional calibration is recommended to improve accuracy. Overall, the system offers an efficient and interactive approach to electronics education, equipping students with practical experience and enhancing their digital literacy. This study contributes to advancing technology-driven educational methods suited to the demands of the digital age.

Abstract

Karya tulis ilmiah baik berupa artikel jurnal maupun skripsi merupakan syarat wajib bagi setiap mahasiswa untuk menjadi sarjana. Menemukan ide dalam menyusun karya ilmiah terkadang menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi banyak mahasiswa, oleh karena itu pendampingan bagi mereka tentunya sangat dibutuhkan. Ilmu yang didapat terkait karya ilmiah dalam perkuliahan idealnya didukung melalui kegiatan pendampingan. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting untuk mengadakan acara pendampingan dalam membantu siswa menggali potensi ide yang pada akhirnya dapat dikembangkan menjadi karya ilmiah. Kegiatan pendampingan ini dilakukan secara online dan diikuti oleh 42 mahasiswa S1 semester VI Jurusan Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar Universitas Borneo Tarakan yang memiliki minat penelitian di bidang matematika. Kegiatan pendampingan menunjukkan hasil yang baik dengan adanya feedback dan penugasan berupa penulisan kerangka berpikir diakhir kegiatan. Adanya penugasan tersebut memperkuat pemahaman mahasiswa setelah adanya feedback yang dilakukan.

Abstract

Hasil Wawancara dan Diskusi dengan Kepala Seksi Kurikulum, Bidang Pendidikan Dasar DInas Pendidikan Kabupaten Tana Tidung sejak tanggal 23 Pebruari 2021 s.d 03 Maret 2021 memperoleh gambaran adanya 4 langkah nyata yang sedang dilaksanakan dan disiapkan untuk Pemulihan Pembelajaran (Recovery Learning) siswa SD dan SMP. Dari 4 (empat) program terssebut, salah satunya adalah Assesmen Diagnostik. Untuk melakukan Assesmen Diagnostik, Disdik KTT memerlukan instrument, salah satunya adalah Instrumen Numerasi Dasar untuk Siswa SMP. Memperhatikan hal itu, maka berdasarkan hasil diskusi pada hari Rabu, 3 Maret 2021, diputuskan untuk melaksanakan kolaborasi yang kita sepakati diberi nama BERAMU: Math Recovery Learning Siswa SMP KTT. Program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas layanan Pendidikan bagi siswa SMP dan meningkatkan peran Civitas akademi FKIP UBT dan melaksanakan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. Muaranya adalah meminimalisir dampak Covid-19 pasca pandemic, baik jangka pendek ataupun jangka panjang. Oleh karena itu, melalui PKM ini, telah disusun paket soal Asesmen Diagnostik Matematika untuk siswa SMP yang telah diserahkan kepada Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Tana Tidung dan Kepala SMP N 3 Tana Tidung.

Abstract

Understanding the information on the problem presented in the form of pictures is not an easy task for preservice primary teachers to lead to errors. However, preservice primary teachers can also answer correctly if given a mathematical model directly. Preservice primary teachers’ errors can be determined using a process point of view in solving mathematical problems. In a qualitative context, this study describes and analyzes the mistakes of preservice primary teachers traced through errors in solving mathematical literacy problems. This research is qualitative research, where analysis is needed to broaden the understanding of the errors that occur when solving mathematical literacy problems. The results showed that preservice primary teachers experienced errors on each indicator in four types of errors when solving mathematical literacy problems. This research found one new type of error, namely carelessness, which is an error with different types of the four types of errors that exist. Further research can be carried out by designing strategies used to improve the ability of preservice primary teachers to solve mathematical literacy problems.
