Abstract

Undang-undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 20 tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional (Sisdiknas) Bab II pasal 3 dinyatakan bahwa “Pendidikan Nasional berfungsi mengembangkan kemampuan dan membentuk watak serta peradaban bangsa yang bermartabat dalam rangka mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa bertujuan untuk berkembangnya potensi peserta didik agar menjadi manusia yang beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, berakhlak mulia, sehat, berilmu, cakap, kreatif, mandiri dan menjadi warga negara yang demokratis serta bertanggung jawab”. Tujuan pendidikan nasional tersebut tampak ideal dan jika dapat diwujudkan, maka akan dihasilkan manusia yang utuh, sempurna, terbina seluruh potensi jasmani, intelektual, emosional, sosial dan sebagainya. Sehingga ia dapat diserahkan tanggung jawab untuk mengemban tugas baik yang berkenaan dengan kepentingan pribadi, masyarakat dan bangsa. Namun dalam praktik, ternyata tujuan pendidikan nasional belum sepenuhnya tercapai. Hal itu mengakibatkan lulusan yang dihasilkan belum mencerminkan perilaku-perilaku yang diharapkan oleh tujuan nasional tersebut.

Abstract

Globalization significantly affects children’s psychological development, often disrupting cognitive patterns and weakening moral values. This study explores how teachers foster positive communication behavior as part of moral education in elementary schools. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and verification. Results indicate that teachers play a central role in guiding students’ moral development through counseling, religious activities, classroom instruction, and extracurricular programs both inside and outside the school. These findings highlight that teacher-led communication strategies not only strengthen students’ moral character but also build resilience against the negative impacts of globalization. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating communication and moral education into school practices to support holistic student growth.
