Abstract

This study examines the presence of the flypaper effect on regional government spending in Sorong Regency over the period 20132023. Using multiple linear regression, the analysis includes three independent variables: Regional Original Revenue (ROR), General Allocation Fund (GAF), and Special Allocation Fund (SAF). The results show that ROR has a positive and statistically significant impact on regional expenditure (coefficient 0.453308), meaning that increased local revenue directly leads to higher government spending. In contrast, GAF has a positive but statistically insignificant effect (coefficient 1.598782), indicating that higher central government transfers through GAF do not necessarily increase local government spending. Likewise, SAF shows a positive yet insignificant influence (coefficient 0.073499). Despite GAF and SAF not being individually significant, their combined effect with ROR on regional spending is statistically significant. The findings suggest evidence of a flypaper effect related to GAF, where central transfers have a greater impact on spending than local revenue, even though GAF individual effect is not significant. However, this effect is not observed with SAF. These findings emphasize the importance of enhancing local fiscal capacity to lessen dependence on central funding and encourage sustainable financial independence. The study recommends further research to explore additional factors influencing regional government expenditure.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the Decent Housing Assistance Program (RTLH) on the welfare level of the community in West Aceh District. Using a quantitative approach and multiple linear regression method, this research examines the effect of the variables of Providing Ease and Licensing, Provision of Infrastructure, Facilities, and Public Utilities, Initiating Land Banking, and the Establishment of Zones for Prosperous Housing on community welfare. The analysis results show that the variables of Providing Ease and Licensing and Provision of Infrastructure, Facilities, and Public Utilities have a significant impact on community welfare in partial tests, while the variables of Initiating Land Banking and Establishing Zones do not have a significant partial effect. However, simultaneously, all four variables have a significant impact on community welfare with a coefficient of determination of 61.4%. These findings indicate the importance of synergy among various aspects of the RTLH program to improve community welfare and the need to optimize policies related to infrastructure, administrative ease, and more strategic housing planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze tea exports and imports of gross domestic product in Indonesia. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from BPS, the research model uses multiple linear regression. The results of the study partially show that tea exports have a positive and significant effect on Indonesia's gross domestic product, tea imports have a negative and significant effect on gross domestic product in Indonesia. Taken together, tea exports and imports have a positive and significant effect on gross domestic product in Indonesia. The recommendation is that the government is expected to develop the existing tea export market. Producing Indonesian tea is not only for the domestic market, but also for exporting Indonesian tea products abroad.

Abstract

Abstract

We want to examine poverty in our research. Using data collected from BPS Aceh Barat Daya between 2005 and 2024, we can see that poverty is the dependent variable while unemployment, economic growth, and minimum wage are the independent variables. Using multiple linear regression as its methodology, this research found that minimum wage increases and economic growth both somewhat affect poverty levels, while unemployment had no such influence. All three independent variables unemployment, economic growth, and minimum wage—have a substantial impact on poverty; the R-Square value of 94% indicates that these three factors explain 94% of the variation in poverty, while the remaining 6% are attributable to factors outside the scope of this research. Keyword: Poverty, Unemployment, Economic Growth, Minimum Wage.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objective: Labor force participation is crucial for improving household economic conditions. Theoretically, labor force participation in the job market can be influenced by several factors, including poverty levels. Documentation from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Jambi Province indicates that labor force participation rates vary across districts and cities in the province. This study aims to estimate the impact of poverty levels on labor force participation rates in Jambi Province. In this analysis, labor force participation is categorized into male and female labor force participation rates. Research Methodology: This study employs panel data from districts and cities during the 2018–2023 period. All data are sourced from published reports by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Jambi Province. To estimate the relationship between variables, the study utilizes panel regression analysis with a fixed-effects approach. Findings/Results: The study demonstrates that poverty levels have a positive and significant impact on male and female labor force participation rates. The higher the poverty level, the higher the male and female labor force participation in the job market. Conversely, lower poverty levels are associated with lower labor force participation rates. Conclusion/Recommendations: Labor force participation in the job market is significantly determined by poverty levels. In other words, the challenges faced by households in meeting their basic needs drive increased participation in the job market. Therefore, it is recommended that district and city governments in Jambi Province enhance labor force participation by providing training and skills development programs, particularly for impoverished groups.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the Special Autonomy Fund (Otsus) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Aceh during 2015–2024 using panel data from 23 districts/cities and a Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The analysis includes Otsus funds, education expenditure, health expenditure, and regional investment as independent variables. The findings indicate that Otsus funds significantly improve HDI, with varying impacts across regions. Education and health spending further strengthen this effect, highlighting the importance of effective and targeted budget allocation. The study provides insights for improving the management of Otsus funds to support sustainable human development in Aceh.
