Abstract

This study examines the implementation of millennial fiqh in madrasahs in Mandailing Natal, Indonesia, to bridge Islamic tradition and digital modernity for Generation Z. Adopting a qualitative case study design, data were collected from three accredited madrasahs (A, B, and C) through in-depth interviews with principals, fiqh teachers, and students, participatory observations in classrooms and digital environments, and analysis of curriculum documents and teaching materials. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources (comparing perspectives of teachers, students, and documents), methods (integrating interviews, observations, and document analysis), and theories (referencing maqashid sharia and digital education frameworks). Thematic analysis, based on Miles and Huberman’s model, identified patterns of challenges and opportunities. Findings indicate that millennial fiqh implementation is hindered by normative curricula focused on classical fiqh, limited teacher capacity in digital issues, inadequate technological infrastructure, dominant traditional values, and negative social media influences, such as hate speech and cyberbullying. However, significant opportunities arise from students’ enthusiasm for contemporary fiqh, teachers’ openness to innovation, and technology’s potential as an interactive learning medium. The proposed millennial fiqh curriculum model integrates maqashid sharia principles into social media ethics, contemporary fatwas on digital transactions, and real-world case studies. This model enhances students’ digital ethics awareness, teachers’ pedagogical skills, and madrasahs’ adaptability. Theoretically, millennial fiqh enriches contemporary Islamic education, supporting Sustainable Development Goals for inclusive education with substantial local and global implications.

Abstract

This study investigates the mental health challenges faced by santri (Islamic boarding school students) in pesantren at Mandailing Natal, alongside the effectiveness of spiritual practices and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) as coping mechanisms. Employing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data from 200 active santri were analyzed using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21), complemented by qualitative interviews with santri and ustadz (religious teachers). Findings reveal that female santri and those in grades 4–6 exhibited greater vulnerability compared to male santri and those in tsanawiyah (junior secondary) levels (p<0.05). Grade 4 marked a significant increase in mental health challenges. Salaf (traditional pesantren) reported higher anxiety levels (Mean=16.24, SD=10.87, p=0.041) compared to semi-modern institutions. Regular spiritual practices were found to reduce depression, though they proved less effective for drop-out santri facing modern pressures. SEL demonstrated potential in mitigating anxiety (OR=0.62, p=0.038, CI=0.39–0.98), with 80% of ustadz expressing support despite concerns over secularization. Integrating spirituality and SEL is recommended to holistically support santri's well-being within a modern context.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas implementasi praktik Tajhizul Mayyit yang dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa KKN di Desa Muara Botung sebagai upaya meningkatkan wawasan religius warga. Kegiatan diawali dengan pemberian materi pada 5 Agustus 2024 yang membahas tata cara pengurusan jenazah sesuai syariat Islam, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan praktik pada Rabu malam, 13 Agustus 2024. Praktik dilakukan menggunakan boneka sebagai simulasi jenazah, tiga ember berlabel air bersih, air sabun, dan air kapur barus, serta lembaran doa yang memuat niat memandikan, mewudukan, menyiram, mengkafani, hingga menyolatkan jenazah. Peserta kegiatan mayoritas adalah ibu-ibu masyarakat setempat yang terlibat aktif dalam simulasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengurusan jenazah, sekaligus memperkuat nilai religiusitas dan solidaritas sosial. Temuan ini sejalan dengan penelitian pengabdian serupa di berbagai daerah yang menegaskan pentingnya pelatihan Tajhizul Mayyit dalam membekali keterampilan praktis masyarakat Muslim. Kegiatan ini merekomendasikan pelatihan berkelanjutan dengan melibatkan seluruh lapisan masyarakat, termasuk generasi muda, agar pemahaman keagamaan dapat diwariskan secara berkesinambungan.

Abstract

Kejadian-kejadian gempa besar yang pernah terjadi di Indonesia, mengisyaratkan bahwa upaya preventif perlu dilakukan dalam perancangan struktural pada suatu jembatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis besarnya gaya dalam maksimum pada kondisi layan dan ultimit, menghitung jumlah tulangan PCI girder dan pier column, serta menganalisis periode getar, kekakuan struktur, dan displacement yang terjadi. Penelitian menggunakan data sekunder as built drawing jembatan berupa data gambar dan dimensi girder, deck, pier head, dan pier column serta data material Jembatan Cisomang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemodelan dan analisis gaya dalam menggunakan software CSI Bridge ver 22. Nilai kekakuan dari struktur Jembatan Cisomang didapatkan sebesar 176.682,1 kN/m. Besarnya perpindahan yang terjadi masih dibawah nilai displacement izin sebesar 168 mm. Girder dapat menahan momen dengan jumlah tendon 21 diameter 13 mm dan tulangan lentur (162D16). Namun, jumlah tendon dan tulangan lentur tersebut tidak memenuhi syarat tulangan lentur maksimum. Tulangan eksisting pada pier column mampu menahan gaya dalam yang bekerja sehingga tidak diperlukan tambahan tulangan.
