Abstract

Palembang's Songket, a UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage, faces significant threats from modernization and the gradual erosion of its tacit knowledge, particularly the philosophical meanings embedded within its motifs. This study addressed the urgent need for a preservation model that transcends simple digitization by focusing on semantic revitalization. This research employed a multi-phase, mixed-methods approach conducted between 2023 and 2025. We developed a comprehensive digital archive through high-resolution photogrammetry of 150 heritage Songket textiles and ethnographic fieldwork, including in-depth interviews with 15 master weavers in Palembang. A bespoke semantic ontology was constructed using Web Ontology Language (OWL) to map the complex relationships between motifs, techniques, materials, and their socio-cultural meanings. This ontology formed the backbone of an interactive web-based platform, "The Songket Legacy," which was subsequently evaluated through a user engagement study with 50 participants from diverse backgrounds, including weavers, designers, and students. The project resulted in a robust digital archive containing over 50 gigabytes of data. The Songket Semantic Ontology successfully defi ned 75 distinct motifs and established over 400 relational assertions, linking visual patterns to their historical narratives and philosophical underpinnings. The user engagement study yielded a high System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 85.5. Qualitative feedback confirmed that the semantic framework significantly enhanced users' understanding and appreciation of Songket, with 92% of participants reporting an increased ability to interpret motif symbolism. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that a semantic-web approach offers a powerful methodology for the revitalization of intangible cultural heritage. By creating a "living" digital archive that makes tacit knowledge explicit and accessible, this project provides a scalable model for preserving and promoting the cultural legacy of Palembang's Songket for future generations, fostering both cultural continuity and creative innovation.

Abstract

Background: Regular physical activity has a significant impact on improving the quality of health in all age groups. One of the main factors causing the increasing prevalence of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity is lack of physical activity. Data from various studies show that increasing physical activity and fitness levels can reduce the relative risk of death by 20% to 35%. This condition shows that physical activity is not only important for maintaining fitness, but also has a vital role in preventing premature death caused by chronic diseases. Objective: This study aims to systematically examine the benefits of physical activity on health and fitness through a systematic review of 13 relevant scientific articles. Results: The findings show that regular physical activity can improve and maintain muscle and bone health, reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity, and reduce symptoms of mental disorders such as depression and schizophrenia. In addition, physical activity also plays a role in improving psychological well-being. Conclusion: Consistent physical activity contributes to the primary and secondary prevention of various chronic diseases, reduces the risk of premature death, maintains a balanced body composition, and supports optimal organ function. This results in a healthier, fitter body, and individuals being more productive in their daily activities.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is one of the dangerous infectious diseases and is still a public health problem in Indonesia. Nisam District is one of the sub-districts in North Aceh with the highest TB cases in 2024, This study aims to analyze factors related to the incidence of tuberculosis (TB) in Nisam District, North Aceh Regency. The research design used was cross-sectional. The population in this study is all people living in Nisam District, and the sampling in this study used purposive sampling as many as 30 respondents. The results of the study found a relationship between sex (p: 0.002, OR: 55.00, CI: 4.13-732.71), knowledge (p: 0.005, OR: 35.00, CI: 2.98-411.47), behavior (p: 0.023, OR: 15.00, CI: 1.45-155.31), occupancy density (p: 0.002, OR: 115.00, CI: 6.11-2165.95) and floor type (p: 0.013, OR: 14.00, CI: 1.74-112.55) against the incidence of TB. So it is suggested to the Health Office through Promkes that it is expected to increase education on TB prevention based on gender, knowledge, and environmental conditions, while Puskesmas, especially surveillance personnel and TB programs, need to optimize active screening, patient coaching, and cadre empowerment, and the community is encouraged to create healthy housing and increase awareness of TB.

Abstract

Tourism Villages (Desa Wisata) are pivotal to Indonesia's rural development strategy, yet their success in achieving sustainable and inclusive growth is highly variable. The mechanisms through which local leadership translates into tangible development outcomes remain empirically underexplored. This study develops and tests a structural equation model (SEM) to examine the serial pathway from Community-Based Transformational Leadership (C-TL) to Local Governance (LG) quality, and subsequently, its impact on Poverty Reduction (SDG 1) and Decent Work (SDG 8). A cross-sectional, quantitative study was conducted. Data (N=500) were collected from community members (tourism awareness groups, village officials, SME owners) across 50 tourism villages in five major Indonesian provinces using a multi-stage cluster sampling technique. The proposed model, specifying LG as a mediator between C-TL and the SDG outcomes, was tested using covariance-based SEM. The measurement model confirmed the reliability and validity of the four latent constructs. The structural model demonstrated an excellent fit to the data (CMIN/DF = 2.74, CFI = 0.958, RMSEA = 0.051). Results indicated that C-TL has a robust, significant positive effect on LG (β = 0.78, p < 0.001). In turn, LG strongly and positively influenced both Poverty Reduction (β = 0.52, p < 0.001) and Decent Work (β = 0.47, p < 0.001). Mediation analysis confirmed that LG fully mediates the relationship between C-TL and Poverty Reduction and partially mediates the relationship between C-TL and Decent Work. In conclusion, Local Governance is the primary mechanism through which the vision of transformational leaders is converted into equitable development outcomes in Indonesian tourism villages. A leader's good intentions are insufficient for poverty reduction without the parallel development of transparent, accountable, and effective governance structures.

Abstract

The proliferation of political dynasties following Indonesia’s rapid decentralization has precipitated significant scholarly debate regarding democratic consolidation. While existing literature establishes the prevalence of kinship politics, few studies empirically model the temporal durability of these regimes using time-to-event analysis. This study employs a Cox Proportional Hazards Model to analyze the survival rates of 1,024 district heads (bupatis and mayors) across three electoral waves from 2005 to 2024. Data were compiled from the General Elections Commission and the World Bank INDO-DAPOER database, integrating electoral returns, fiscal capacity, and verified kinship ties. Kaplan-Meier estimates and multivariate Cox regressions were utilized to calculate Hazard Ratios for political exit. The analysis reveals that dynastic incumbents possess a significantly lower hazard of political exit compared to non-dynastic counterparts (Hazard Ratio = 0.68; p < 0.01). Fiscal autonomy acts as a critical moderator; dynasties in regions with high own-source revenue exhibit extended survival times, indicating the effective capture of local patronage networks. Conversely, corruption scandals serve as the primary accelerant of regime collapse. In conclusion, local dynasties in Indonesia utilize decentralized fiscal structures to insulate themselves from electoral competition, suggesting that high local fiscal autonomy inadvertently entrenches familial rule.

Abstract

The prevalence of correct handwashing behavior with soap in Aceh Province is 36%. School-age children are the time to instill PHBS values and have the potential to be agents of change to promote PHBS both in the school environment, family, and society. The impact of lazy handwashing with soap can cause various diseases such as diarrhea, flu, hepatitis A, and impetigo (a contagious infection that usually occurs in children who rarely wash their hands, this disease is characterized by red skin which then develops into small blisters). The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of mini posters as a health promotion media on handwashing behavior with soap in elementary school students. The research method is one group pretest posttest design. The sampling technique is total sampling, while the number of samples in this study was 80 students from grades 5 and 6 of elementary school. The results of the study obtained before the intervention of mini posters washing hands with soap behavior of elementary school students 77.5% of students did not wash their hands with soap after urinating and defecating. After the intervention of mini posters washing hands with soap behavior of elementary school students 87.5% did wash their hands with soap. There is an effect of mini poster intervention on increasing handwashing behavior in elementary school students with a p value of 0.000 < 0.05. The results show that mini posters are a reference for the effectiveness of health promotion in preventing infectious diseases in elementary school children by implementing a handwashing program with soap in the school environment

Abstract

Stunting remains a major chronic nutritional problem in Indonesia, including Aceh, and has serious impacts on children’s physical growth and cognitive development. Prevention efforts require appropriate, practical, and sustainable nutritional interventions, including the use of local foods such as pumpkin, which is rich in beta-carotene, vitamin A, carbohydrates, and fiber, and can be combined with animal and plant protein sources. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an instant pumpkin-based porridge in improving the weight and height of children aged 6–24 months who are at risk of stunting in the Gunung Meriah Health Center area. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group involving 41 children divided into intervention and control groups. The intervention group received the instant porridge for 21 days. Data analyzed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests showed significant improvements in the intervention group’s weight and height (p<0.05). The pumpkin-based instant porridge proved effective as a local food–based nutritional intervention and has the potential to be integrated into supplementary feeding programs and regional nutrition policies with broader coverage and longer duration..
