Abstract

Pekanbaru City has already had a location of operational final processing of waste in Muara Fajar Village. The operational condition and facilities of landfill in the final stages of capacities, and expansion of the area is difficult resulted in landfill no longer feasible, so it requires a new location as landfill replacement. The new location plans at village of Muara Fajar require a feasibility study with the technical standards prevailing in Indonesia. The volume of waste transported to landfill from 2016 to 2025 is estimated to reach 2,215,951 tons and service life at a new location be able to accommodate waste for 4 years and 5 months. The environmental conditions that need to be considered is slope of 15% to 25%, and existence of groundwater at the valleys at a depth of 0,2 meters to 1,5 meters. Based on Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 03-3241-1994 with scoring analysis landfill is medium worthy. Keywords: new location plans of landfill, Muara Fajar Village, volume of waste, SNI 03-3241-1994/

Abstract

Flooding is a major problem that has potential to occur during the rainy season. Replanning of drainage channel dimensions in Jalan Suka Karya km 0-km 5 can be used as an effort to control flood problems. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the existing condition of the drainage channel that caused flooding in the study site and determine an alternative solution if the existing condition of thedrainage channel is unable to accommodate rainwater runoff discharge. The hydrological analysis of this plan used the Log Person III probability distribution and used a 5-year return period. The EPA SWMM assistance program was used to analyze flood problems at the study site. The problem of flooding that occurred at the study site was caused by problems with the dimensions and material thatwere not uniform, as well as sedimentation on the surface of the drainage channel. Land use conditions in the form of densely populated residential areas caused some drainage canals in the study site to be closed by construction buildings that were part of the shoulder of the road so that the drainage system cannot accommodate and excess water optimally. According to the evaluation results of the EPA SWMM assistance program by replanning the dimensions ofthe drainage channel would overcome the problem of flooding in the study site. The drainage channel using U-Ditch precast concrete with dimensions of 0.8 m x 1 m. The engineer estimate required in the drainage channel planning construction is Rp. 12,197,249,000.00.Keywords: EPA SWMM, Hydrology Analysis, Drainage Dimensions, Engineer estimate

Abstract

The fulfillment of drinking water needs in Pangkalan Kuras District comes from ground water, bottled water, and river water, of which quality and quantity are not guaranteed according to PERMENKES No. 492/2010. condition of the quality of the quantity of drinking water for the people of Pangkalan Kuras District. The largest source of drinking water used by the community is well water with a percentage of 54.4%, bottled water 45.15%, and the least used is river water by 0.41%. The groundwater in Pangkalan Kuras District is still affected by peat soils, so that the groundwater feels brackish, colored and smells of mud, therefore it needs much deeper drilling to get clean water. While the bottled water used is good for consumption, the quantity and continuity have not been fulfilled because the population density is not evenly distributed in Pangkalan Kuras District. Meanwhile, river water is not of good quality if it is directly used as a source of drinking water.Keyword: Pangkalan Kuras, Drinking Water, Ground Water, Bottled Water, River Water

Abstract

The city of Pekanbaru as an economic center and a destination for urbanization in Riau province has also experienced an increase in population. This is the cause of the increase in the amount of waste that enters the Muara Fajar 2 TPA Pekanbaru City. Solid waste that is stockpiled in the TPA undergoes a degradation process resulting in greenhouse gases in the form of CH4 which contribute to global warming, but have the potential to be utilized as alternative energy. The purpose of this study was to calculate CH4 emissions from landfilling activities at TPA 2 Muara Fajar Pekanbaru City and the potential energy produced. The method for calculating landfill gas emissions uses the IPCC 2019 method. The amount of waste that goes to the TPA in 2011-2020 is obtained from the Pekanbaru City Environment and Forestry Office. The highest estimated values of CH4 gas emissions resulting from landfilling activities at the Muara Fajar 2 TPA Pekanbaru City occurred in 2049 with CH4 emissions of 34,847 Mg/year and CH4 volume of 48,560,479 m3/year. The daily electricity generated is 52,052.84 kWh which can meet the electricity needs of 9,362 households in Pekanbaru City.
