Abstract

Ozone is one of strong oxidant agent with potential oxidation value of 2,08 eV. Character of ozone are sharp-smelling and an unstable form composed of three oxygen atoms (O). Since 1990s, the using of ozone developed very wide and rapidly where ozone is used for drinking water treatment and wastewater treatment, sterilization of food and equipment, preservatives and odor removal. Ozone known with radical hydroxyl (OH•) which easily react with organic or inorganic compounds. In this research aims to calculate and measure the productivity of ozone generator with brand ozonizer WS88011i. This research used oxygen from the ambient air as the feed gas. Productivity of ozone generators analysis by iodometry refers to the International Ozone Association Standarized Ozone Procedure Iodometric Method 001/1996. The results showed the productivity of ozonizer WS88011i based on corona discharge method can produce dosage of ozone with range 0,239 - 0,264 g/hour.Keywords: ozone, ozone generator, productivity of ozone

Abstract

The Research has been conducted to determine the the noise’s intensityfrom operational activities originating from generating machines at PT. RiauPower Unit PLTG / U Teluk Lembu Pekanbaru with the Grid method. Workerswho are constantly exposed to noise have the potential to affect workers' healthand comfort. The purpose of this study was to determine the intensity of noisegenerated by the generator engine, the length of exposure time, mapping the noisedistribution patterns, and noise control efforts. The noise measurement methodrefers to the noise mapping method and the instrument used is a Sound LevelMeter (SLM). The measurement of sound pressure level took place for 1 day. Theresults showed that from 97 measurement spots there were 40 spots indicatingnumbers that exceeded the quality standard. The highest loudness level is 106.1dB where this spot located very close from the noise source, and the lowestloudness level is on 59.5 dB where the distance is quite far from the noise source.The planned noise control attempt is by using noise barrier (naturally orartificially), isolate the machines, machine care, the administration management,and the human resource management by applying a vertical garden to the officebuilding.Keywords : Noise , Noise Mapping, PLTG/U

Abstract

The flood problem and inundation local often occuring in regions Rumbai Pesisir, precisely in the intersection of Yos Sudarso Street. The main cause of the flood and water was changes to land of the natural environment to development , raising the surface watertight , for example the way , commercial area , the sidewalk , and residential . This change reduce , disturbing vegetation natural or eliminate the ground up , the natural and drainage patterns that prevents , vaporize , store , issued slowly and meresapkan water . The impact of changes to land management in the region yos sudarso was the increasing flow of direct surface (run off) and parse water to seep in ground which can make puddles .On pesing , analysis was conducted hydrology with the data of rain in 20 years from station office hydrology. Analysis hydrology planning it uses distribution probability logs pearson type 3 and with on the EPA SWMM with a period of flood re until 2033. Obtained discharge minimum flood of 46,648 m3/seconds and discharge flood maximum of 251,252 m3/seconds. On planning dimensions drainage channel namely worn varying dimensions existing 2m x 1.6m and dimensions plan 2.5m x 2.5m. in the calculation of using program channel EPA SWMM planned in road area yos sudarso with dimensions 2m x 1.6m currently unable to accommodate water during the incident the period flood repeated 2033. Furthermore planning a drainage channel dimension Street Area Yos Sudarso changed to 2.5 m x 2.5 m able to accommodate water when genesis flood plan and land use change the period until the year 2033. Engineer Estimate for the development of the drainage channel Street area Yos Sudarso Rumbai Pesisir Sub-Districts requires total costs incurred is Rp 35.524.770.000,00 (Thirty five billion five hundred twenty-four million seven hundred seventy thousand rupiah).Keyword: Analysis Hydrology, Drainage Dimension, EPA SWMM, Engineer Estimate

Abstract

Biodiesel is an alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from fatty material such as animal fat. A research synthesis of biodiesel from waste CPO(Crude Palm Oil) into biodiesel with a KOH catalyst. In this research review of physical properties (density, viscosity and acid number), analyzing the chemical content of biodiesel, the influence of the molar ratio of methanol to CPO(Crude Palm Oil) the percentage of conversion and optimal transesterification catalyst in the transesterification reaction in biodiesel synthesis. 300 grams of CPO(Crude Palm Oil), versus 1:14 methanol to oil molar, catalyst 1% of the weight of oil input into the biodiesel reactor and then the process of biodiesel synthesis performed on the operating conditions of 60 ° C temperature  for 150 minutes. The results showed that the optimum conversion catalyst with 1% methanol 1:14 molar ratio that is equal to 85,45%. Physical test results obtained by the density of 888 kg/m3, 5,94 cSt viscosity, acid number 0.707 mg-koh/gr sample. Results obtained have characteristics approaching the characteristics of biodiesel Indonesian National Standard (SNI). Kata kunci : CPO(Crude Palm oil), Biodiesel, transesterification, Conversion

Abstract

The need for drinking water in Bangkinang District, Kampar Regency comes from wells, river water and tap water, the quality and quantity of which are not guaranteed. The community's water needs will reach 191.61 L/s in 2039, so it is necessary to plan a drinking water distribution system with raw water sources coming from the Kampar River. drinking water distribution piping network planning is made using EPANET 2.0 software. The simulation results show that the hydraulic condition of the piping for the planning area at peak hours has a speed of 0.30 m/s – 4.06 m/s, a pressure of 8.57 m – 61.59 m, and the highest pressure loss is 4.35 m/km. Abstract

The Regional Water Company (PDAM) has not been able to providing clean water in the city of Pekanbaru, one of which is the Bukit Raya subdistrict because of the many obstacles faced such as leaking pipes, the age of the pipe that is very old, and the quality of the Siak River water had been contaminated by heavy metals. So it is necessary to study the potential for surface water sources that could be developed, one of which is Sail River considered potentially to be used as a source of raw water. This study aims to determine the quantity of river discharge associated mainstay of Sail River, Sail river water balance and determine the quality of Sail River that can be used as a raw water source, in this case water providers to meet the needs of Bukit Raya subdistrict.The results of the calculation, 95% of the river discharge mainstay Sail River of 0,21 m3/sec. Clean water needs of domestic and non domestic in 2033 amounted to 0.283 m3/sec. Based on the amount of discharge is available on the river and the need for clean water is known Sail River water balance have deficit water amounted to -0,073 m3/sec. Results of laboratory tests of water quality in mind some of the parameters that does not comply with quality standards, such as pH, BOD, COD, DO, NH3, nitrogen, iron, sulfur as H2S, and total coliform. Abstract

Domestic wastewater contributes greatly to water pollution in urban areas because the application of treatment is not optimal. This research with aerobic biofilter system with plastic media honeycomb was done to process domestic wastewater. The purpose of this study was to study the influence of recirculation and aeration (reactor A), aeration (reactor B), recirculation (reactor C), and without recirculation and aeration (reactor D) on the decrease in pH concentration in wastewater. Reactors are prepared with each reactor containing honeycomb media. Conditioning and growth of microorganisms in the reactor is carried out for 14 days until the biofilm is formed. The optimum values of pH removal in the four reactors with a stay of 12 hours were pH 90.1%, 93.7%, 75.8%, 67.9%. The results showed that reactor B with the use of an aeration system is effective in lowering the concentration of pollutants in domestic wastewater. Abstract

Tembilahan is the capital city of Indragiri Hilir, it has 67.74 km2 area and has 89,404 population. The amount of garbage which has been increasing as long as the growth population. Social factors that influence waste management are factor of education and factor population density. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between level education and population density towards ilegal dumping. This research was conducted with a survey method directly to the study area. The result were The education level of respondents towards illegal dumping increased as the increasing number of high school graduation respondents. Based on the histogram of population density comparison to the number of illegal dumping, high and low population density doesn’t affect the number of illegal dumping.Keywords : Ilegal dumping, level education, population density

Abstract

Usage of peatland clays as liquid coagulant in pre treatment process still have a problem, so needed a process using ultrafiltration membranes. The purpose of this study was to determine the removal efficiency of organics matter and turbidity in pre treatment process using liquid coagulant of peatland clays with variation coagulant doses and learn the flux and rejection of organics matter and turbidity in peat water in processing using cross flow system ultrafiltration membrane without and with pre treatment. This research was conducted by varying the dose of liquid coagulant by 40 ml, 50 ml and 60 ml to 1000 ml of peat water and variations ultrafiltration membrane operating pressure of 0.5 bar, 1 bar and 1.5 bar. The result showed the best coagulant dosage is 40 ml, the highest flux obtained at processing using ultrafiltration membranes with a pre treatment at a pressure of 1.5 bar and highest rejection of organic matter and turbidity obtained on processing using ultrafiltration membranes with a pre treatment at a pressure of 0.5 bar respectively amounted to 96.34% and 100%.Key words: organic matter, peatland clays, peat water, turbidity, ultrafiltration membrane.

Abstract

Siak River is one of the deepest rivers in Indonesia that is a national concern and it is a national strategic river. Currently, the Watershed of Siak especially in the upstream has included the critical watershed due to the decrease of river water discharge and increased activity along the river. In this research, identification of Pollutant Load Capacity of Upper Siak watershed with 9 segment and reducing pollutant load according to standard of class II. The polluted loads identified are BOD, COD and TSS parameters in the minimum discharge simulation. In the Siak basin the upstream reduction of the BOD pollutant load is 80%, COD 20% and TSS 20% to get the standard grade for class II. Result a pollution load capacity of Siak watershed after reduction for BOD, COD and TSS contaminant load according to standard of class for each class II is 3,548.01 kg / day, 308,407.15 kg / day and 149,138.67 kg / day.Key words : Siak River, Pollutan Load Capacity, WASP 7.3
