Abstract

Sri Meranti and Umban Sari are located in Rumbai district Pekanbaru with the vast region of 8,59 km2 and 8,64 km2. The closest area to the city is Sri Meranti with 5 km distance straight. The needs of clean water in Sri Meranti and Umban Sari have served by Tirta Siak Municipal Waterworks Pekanbaru, but it is not serving the amount needed to the development in the services of clean water. The purpose of this research is to estimate and count the needs of clean water in Sri Meranti and Umban Sari in Rumbai district Pekanbaru until 2032. After analyzing the number of residents, obtained the results of the number of people in Sri Meranti and Umban Sari in the district Rumbai Pekanbaru in 2032 is 50.749 people. And the number of water demand is 126,87 l/sec.Keywords: Development, Water Demand, Clean Water

Abstract

In all activities, human will produce a residual in a form of solid called solid waste. Kampus Bina Widya is a one of university in Pekanbaru with all of its activities is not hampered from solid waste productiom and problems coming from it, one of which can be seen on the amounts of solid waste in LPS (Land Disposal meantime) located behind of a Stadion Mini. This study aims to determine the waste generation and composition at Kampus Bina Widya and planned waste management system that includes lug, collection, transportation and the planned dump site (TPST) in Kampus Bina Widya, so the landfill activity on campus no longer exists. This study begins with the generation and waste composition studies conducted in 4 faculty, 3 offices, roads, public housing, hospitals and mosques.The study results showed the composition and in 2014 the daily waste generation of 9.448 l/day with composition is inorganic waste by 50,55% % and organic waste by 49,45%. Waste management planning in Campus Bina Widya include disaggregated lug to lug needs a capacity of 10 l bin for organic waste as much as 325 units and as many as 514 units of inorganic waste, bin capacity of 30 l to 108 units as much organic waste and inorganic waste as much as 171 units, bin capacity 60 l for organic waste as much as 62 units and 88 units of inorganic waste. Collection system in the form of segregated polling stations with a capacity of 4 m3 tub. A transport fleet capacity of 4 m3 pick up 2 units. The area of land needs TPSTs in Bina Widya Campus is an area of 635.33 m².Keywords: generation and waste composition, waste management systems, TPST

Abstract

The Water Supply Company (PDAM) Tirta Dharma Bengkalis is a company engaged in the drinking water services, it is required to improve its service to the community in Bengkalis. The aim of this study were evaluating the existing condition of the distribution. The pressure condition of the distribution network still able to serve the needs of the service area with the residual pressure > 0.5 atm or 5 meters. From the Headloss condition, nothing criteria over the limit is above 10 m / km. Whereas for the speed condition of the distribution network, a lot of pipes do not meet the standard minimum criteria which is > 0.3 m / s, but not all the pipe need replacement especially for the main pipe with the consideration of the provision of sufficient pressure in case of the additional needs in the future. Based on the research finding, it needs preventive, so it can fulfill the future needs considering the increasing of the population that can not be avoided.Keywords: Evaluation, Water Distribution System, Modeling, EPANET 2.0

Abstract

Clean water services in Pangkalan Lesung Subdistricts in Pelalawana Regency still relies from bottle water, boreholes, river water, springs and rainwater, the quality and quantity of these sources not quaranteed. The need for water in Pangkalan Lesung District in 2038 reaches 144,24 l/sec. so it is necessary to plan a drinking water supply system for the next 20 years using raw water from the Kuyo River. Based on th mass balance analysis, it is found that units capable of processing raw water with water quality are in accordance withPERMENKES number 492 in 2010. The processing unit are planned for intake, pre-sedimentation, neutralization, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection and reservoar is useful for waterstorage before distribution. The volume of reservoar required is 1869,3 m3and need to do the addition of the distribution pump with capacity is 60 l/s and head pump is 55 m to drain the water to service area. The creationof a distribution network using the software EPANET 2.0 with trial and error in inserting the value of the pipe diameter so that it meets the technical criteria for design. The budget required for planning a drinking watersupply system in Pangkalan Lesung District is Rp. 79.969.000.000,-Keyword: Pangkalan Lesung, Water Requirements, Production Units, EPANET 2.0, Distribution.

Abstract

Indonesia is faced with an energy crisis fuel . This condition makes the business opportunity of biodiesel production is still promising . One of the technologies in generating alternative energy is the conversion of Jatropha oil into biodiesel using membrane reactor . This research aims to study the effect of variations in the molar ratio of castor oil with methanol to biodiesel conversion and the effect of reaction time on conversion , as well as studying the characteristics of biodiesel produced . The process of making biodiesel using membrane reactor polypropilen pore size of 0.1 lm diameter with a maximum temperature of 55 º C and a maximum pressure of 1 bar . Variation is the molar ratio of 1:10, 1:15 and 1:20 and the time variation of 1 , 2 and 3 hours . The highest biodiesel yield at a ratio of 1:20 was 97.35 % at the reaction time of 1 hour . Results Characterization of physical properties of blends of biodiesel which meets the quality standards of the kinematic viscosity of biodiesel ranges between 4.01-4,24 cSt and biodiesel ranges 0874-0883 g/cm3 density and acidity rate ranged between 0.56-0.71 mg KOH / g sample . Molar variation affects the quality of the biodiesel produced is at a molar ratio of 1:20 .  Keywords : Biodiesel , Membrane Reactor , molar ratio , reaction time.

Abstract

Landfill site is one of significant source of methane emissions into the atmosphere. The waste in landfill will be decomposed in anaerobic digestion process and produced methane (CH4) with composition of 45-60%. Methane gas has the potency as a source alternative energy of electrical energy. Production of methane gas were analyzed with LandGEM. Conversion of methane gas to electrical energy calculated by multiplication of conversion factor values with methane gas. Based on projection result weight volume analysis with in Mandau landfill area, can only accommodate the waste for forty-two months twenty-eight days. The LandGEM analysis shown that the total landfill gas from Mandau Landfill in 2021 will reach 8.575.000 m3/year equals to 978,88 m3/hour. Total methane generation will reach 5.145.000 m3/year equals to 587,33 m3/hour. Analysis of conversion methane gas to electrical energy, reached peak production after one year closure landfill site in 2021 amount 6.560 kWh.Keywords: methane, LandGEM, landfill

Abstract

Development Area I is for the residential area, trade and service center, and government office center in Pekanbaru City. Development area I is the center of service, which has the potensial as one of the contributors to CO2 emissions into the air. The purpose of this research is to amount of total primary CO2 emissions with carbon footprint method from household activities in Development Area I, Pekanbaru City. The method of this research used IPCC (1996) method to calculation of primary CO2 emissions and using primary data and secondary data, primary data was obtained from surveys and interviews related to fuel use in the household and secondary data was obtained from relevant agencies such as regional maps and demographic data. The result of this research was knew the amount of total primary CO2 emissions from household activities in the Development Area I in Pekanbaru City was about 1.464,80 tons CO2/month. Abstract

Waste is the residue of human activities that form of solid waste. Waste needs to be managed to avoid having a negative impact. One effort to manage a waste is to make the transportation of waste. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the transport of waste regarding the transport of waste in Zone III (Rumbai and West Rumbai District). Result of this research suggest that longer the distance a route takes, the greater the time it takes, it can be seen from the amount of time that TP 57 uses to drive longest. TP 57 have the longest route 62,95 Km. The exciting of waste transportation system in Zone III uses a direct pattern and manual SCS. The averaget total amount of time that is used to transport garbage per rotation is 5,110 hours/rotation, and the average of ritaion is 2 ritations per day. Calculating data indicate that waste hauling is ineffective and unproductive Productivity of waste hauling activities can be seen at off-route value. Abstract

Dumai City has an administrative area of 1,727.38 km2, consisting of 7 districts, namely Dumai Kota, Dumai Timur, Dumai Barat, Dumai Selatan, Bukit Kapur, Medang Kampai, Sungai Sembilan. In 2018 the population density was 176 people / km2 and the population growth rate was 2.74%. With a population of 303,292 people, the city of Dumai has the potential to produce large amounts of waste, which if not managed properly can cause a decrease in the quality and aesthetics of the environment. Therefore it is necessary to calculate the generation of waste as a basis for waste management in the city of Dumai. The calculation of waste generation that is carried out refers to SNI 19-3964-1995, the unit of large city waste generation = 2 - 2.5 L / person / day, or = 0.4 - 0.5 kg / person / day, the unit of waste generation medium / small city = 1.5 - 2 L / person / day, or = 0.3 - 0.4 kg / person / day. Based on the results of the calculation of waste generation, dumai city is included in the category of medium cities, it is found that the waste generation is 606,5 m3 / day. Abstract

The generation data, composition and characteristics of waste are needed in planning waste recycling systems in waste management. This research was conducted in Development Area V with a total sample of 58 units in Marpoyan Damai Subdistrict, 66 units in Tampan Subdistrict and 43 units in Payung Sekaki Subdistrict. Determination of non domestic waste generation based on the method of SNI 19-3964-1994 carried out for eight consecutive days. The results of the study indicate that the average generation school waste is 0,003 kg/person/day or 0,008 l/person/day. The average generation of health facility waste is 0,007 kg/m2/day or 0,0028 l/m2/day. The average generation of office waste is 0,046 kg/person/day or 0,133 l/person/dayy. The average genartion of market waste is 0,029 kg/m2/day or 0,033 l/m2/day. The average genaration of shop waste is 0,333 kg/person/day or 1.130 l/person/day. The average generation of restaurant waste is 0,009 kg/m2/day or 0,021 l/m2/day and the average hotel waste is 0,063 kg/tt/day or 0,311 l/tt/day. The biggest composition of organic waste is dominated by organic waste as much as 49,85 %/day. The results of the physics characteristic are compaction factors of 1,29 liters and chemical charateristics for water content of 21,13%, volatile content of 52,62%, ash content of 12,91% and fixed carbon of 13,01%. The results of potential recycling in Marpoyan Damai Subdistrict were 13,95, in Tampan District at 13,88% and Payung Sekaki District at 16,82%.Keywords: waste generation, composition of waste, characteristics of waste, potential for recycling waste.
