Abstract

Flooding in Mutiara Witayu Recidence caused a big problem for the local communities. This situation led the government taking an action to relocate and plan a construction of retention pond as a settlement of the flood in the region. The purpose of this study was to get a sufficient retention pond capacity to accommodate the flood discharge at the sites. During it’s planning, hydrological analysis was conducted with rainfall data from the Office of Hydrology station for 20 years. Log Person III probability distribution and 5 year retense were used for the analysis. EPA SWMM program was used to analyze the flow of runoff existing in this study. The flooding problem was due to the runoff water which could not flow out into the outfall caused by the operation of the sluice. So it was necessary to accommodate the construction of retention pond during the discharge of the runoff of rainwater. The retention pond with a capacity of 23,000 m3 with a maximum depth of 1 m and ponded area of 23,000 m2, was planned in the study site. Based on the running program, it was found that the addition of a retention pond with that capacity could effectively accommodate the flood discharge at the sites. The cost required to build retention pond was Rp. 7,810,000,700.00 (Seven Billion Eight Hundred and Ten Million Seven Hundred Rupiahs).Keywords : Mutiara Witayu Recident, Flood, EPA SWMM, Retention Pond, Engineering Estimate

Abstract

Waste is the residue of human activities that form of solid waste. Waste needs to be managed to avoid having a negative impact. One effort to manage a waste is to make the transportation of waste. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the transport of waste and to make plans regarding the transport of waste in the Tenayan Raya District. Result of this research suggest that longer the distance a route takes, the greater the time it takes, it can be seen from the amount of time that SHI 73 uses to drive longest. SHI 73 have the longest route 56,3 Km. according to this there should be a change including the change of pool, route of waste transportation and shift the equipment. Pool alocation shorten avarage distance of pool to the point one of route of waste transportation from 18,8 km to 12,2 km. The changing of waste transportation route shorten avarege distance from 7,26 Km to 3,2 Km. A fence to be made at a few laystall. Abstract

Providing clean water is a major concern, because water is a basic need and is essential for life and health of mankind. Sourced from the Long Term Development Plan (RPJP) Riau Province 2005-2025 that meet the needs of clean water for domestic Riau Province large part still rely on shallow groundwater and service of the Regional Water Company (PDAM). Rainwater is a source of high quality water which is available every rainy season and has the potential to reduce the pressure on the use of fresh water resources (fresh water sources). Rainwater coming from the roof of the house is usually the cleanest water alternatives that can be used as a source of clean water one of them in the District of Bengkalis. This study aims to find out alternative clean water that can be used in the District of Bengkalis and determine the volume of rain water storage and rainwater harvesting design plan or Rainwater Harvesting. In this research, modeling Rain Cycle 2 is a rainwater harvesting modeling that uses some of the data, the data are derived from primary data in the form of extensive data roofs society, data on the number of family members in the head of the family, and the data of showers field. The results of this study rainwater harvesting by using a holding tank depends on the ability of people in the District Bengkalis income as well as extensive holdings community yard individual scale to meet the needs of clean water which ensures the availability of supply of clean water with a limited number of tanks.Keywords : Rain water harvesting , Rain Cycle 2 , raw water

Abstract

The green open space is one of an effort in order to handling of the increasing the greenhouse gas emission, because green open space has an ability to absorbing the CO2 emission. The purpose of this research is to find out the CO2 emissions from transportation activities, knowing the ability of absorption of CO2 by the public’s green open space, analyze the level of absorption of CO2 by green open space from transportation activity, and to plan for the addition of public’s green open space in Bangkinang Kota district. The method in this research is calculate the value of CO2 emissions, counting the trees which has diameters more than 20 centimeter, and calculate the area of vegetation cover. The sufficiency of green open space was analyze and then compared the absorbing power of CO2 by trees with number of CO2 emissions that produced. Bangkinang Kota district is produced the CO2 emissions from transportation which is high enough as much as 32.884.770,640 kilograms CO2/year. While the ability of CO2 absorption by the public’s green open space in Bangkinang Kota district only 1.178.356,154 kilograms CO2/year. The result of analysis show that the public’s green open space in Bangkinang Kota district that viewed from absorbing CO2 emissions of transportation is still not enough with percentage is only about 3,59%. The absorbtion rate of public’s green open space is planned to reduce all CO2 emissions from transportation activities in Bangkinang Kota district is equal to 34.510.474,20 kilograms CO2/year.Keywords: Greenhouse Gas, Co2 Emissions, and Green Open Space

Abstract

There have been several methods widely developed for crude palm oil (CPO) extraction from palm oil fruits, which produces liquid waste around 60% from the total production capacity. This liquid waste contains organic over than maximum limit, which is permitted by environmental quality standards of ministerial decision LH No. KEP-51/ MENLH/ 1995. one of the technologies that can be used is the Ozonation technology. It is done by contacting Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) with ozone. Ozon is produced from  the ozone generator with 18 watt power, with concentration 0,1068 mg/s.  Ozone serves to reduce chemical oxygen demand (COD), oil, and total solid (TTS) in crude palm oil factory. This research was conducted with variation of PH, 8,10, and 12 with NaOH addition  and variation of time 10, 20, 30, 40 minutes. The research finding obtained that the efficiency  chemical oxygen demand (COD) could reach maximum 90 % , with PH 8 in 40 minutes.  Keyword: COD, POM, Ozonation, Total solid

Abstract

Pekanbaru City as one of the metropolitan cities with a population of 1,064,566 people can produce 450,000 kg of daily waste in 2016 to be processed at the Muara Fajar TPA. The Development Area (WP) I which consists of Limapuluh, Senapelan, Sail, Sukajadi Districts, Pekanbaru City and has a total population of 175,666 inhabitants with a total area of 19.97 Km2. The high population and waste generated needs to be balanced with an adequate waste management system to avoid the formation of Illegal TPS. The purpose of this study is to map and measure TPS volumes and to analyze geophysical, anthropogenic and community characteristics by distributing questionnaires and conducting interviews. This research was conducted by conducting a direct visit to the study area with the help of the Garmin 60CSx GPS, the results of the review were then mapped with the ArcMap 10.3 application. The results of the field survey were obtained as many as 16 illegal TPS points in WP I with a total garbage volume measured of 58,514 m3. The existence factor of the river does not affect the emergence of Illegal TPS. For the type of land, it was concluded that vacant land is the most potential place for Illegal TPS, for the most potent type of road is the type of local road, the level of education and knowledge will influence attitudes and behavior of waste management, because the low level of education and lack of knowledge will increase attitudes and unhealthy behavior. Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di desa Benai Kecil, Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Desa ini dipilih karena dikenal sebagai daerah penghasil karet dan sawit di Propinsi Riau. Tujuan kegiatan ini masyarakat dapat melakukan penanganan limbah pertanian tanaman karet dan kelapa sawit yaitu mengolahnya menjadi pupuk kompos dan asap cair. Kegiatan Pengabdian dilakukan dengan cara memberikan pelatiahan kepada masyarakat membuat kompos dan asap cair. Indikator capaian kegiatan adalah perubahan pemahaman masyarakat tentang pembuatan kompos dan asap cair, bahan pembuatan kompos & asap cair, cara pembuatan kompos dan asap cair dan manfaat atau kegunaannya dari limbah pertanian. Dari hasil praktek, kompos yang dihasilkan masyarakat cukup baik, warna dan bau kompos seperti tanah, tidak panas (suhu antara 30-35 derajat Celcius), Namun pada pembuatan asap cair, masyarakat menghadapi kendala, yaitu produk asap cair yang dihasilkan sangat sedikit, walaupun proses pembuatannya sudah cukup lama, sekitar 5 jam dan asap cair yang dihasilkan belum mencapai grade 1, yaitu pengawet yang dapat digunakan untuk produk makanan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah peserta dapat memahami teknik pembuatan kompos dan asap cair dari limbah pertanian dengan baik yang ditunjukkan dengan persentase capaian ≥ 80% dan keinginan masyarakat yang besar untuk melakukan sendiri pembuatan kompos dan asap cair. Hal ini terliat dari antusiasme masyarakat saat kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan kompos dan asap cair.

Abstract

Desa Rejosari memiliki 17 RW 70 RT dengan 4.888 KK. Potensi sampah yang dihasilkan cukup tinggi. Hal ini terlihat dari tumpukan sampah di beberapa tempat yang ada di lingkungan RT 01 RW 03. Hasil observasi tim pengabdian diketahui tidak adanya sistem pengangkutan sampah dari pemerintah, sehingga masyarakat membakar sampah, membuang sampah di lahan kosong, dan dibuang ke sungai. Munculnya masalah yaitu sampah-sampah yang dapat mencemari lingkungan dan menyebabkan timbulnya wabah penyakit. Padahal sampah-sampah tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menjadi produk-produk yang bermanfaat seperti menjadi pupuk kompos serta barang kerajinan yang bernilai ekonomi. Melihat kondisi ini tim pengabdian dengan berkoordinasi dengan pejabat setempat (Ketua RT 01) menyusun jadwal pelaksanaan kegiatan Sosialisasi & Pelatihan Pengolahan Sampah Organik Rumah Tangga menjadi Kompos dengan Teknologi komposter. Kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan dan demonstrasi pembuatan pupuk kompos oleh tim dan warga masyarakat sekitar. Kegiatan ini dihadiri narasumber berasal dari dosen Teknik Lingkungan Universitas Riau dan warga masyarakat di wilayah RT 01 RW 03 Desa Rejosari Kecamatan Tenayan Raya. Manfaat yang diperoleh peserta dari kegiatan PKM ini antara lain warga masyarakat dapat mengolah sampah organik menjadi pupuk kompos dengan teknologi komposter serta meningkatnya pengetahuan dalam pengelolaan dan pengolahan sampah sehingga lingkungan menjadi lebih bersih dan nyaman serta bisa meningkatkan perekonomian.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Syekh Burhanuddin berada di Desa Kuntu Kabupaten Kampar. Dengan bertambah jumlah santri setiap tahunnya menyebabkan semakin banyak sampah di lingkungan pesantren. Pengelolaan sampah dipesantren belum baik, sampah hanya dikumpulkan di satu tempat lalu dibakar. Pembakaran dapat menyebabkan pencemaran udara dan akan berdampak pada lingkungan sekitar pesantren. Sesuai Motto yang telah digariskan oleh pendiri Pesantren adalah Tafaqquh Fiddin (mendalami ilmu agama) disamping penguasaan ilmu pengetahuan, juga diperlukan keterampilan. Pondok pesantren mengadakan inovasi/terobosan baru dalam mengembangkan ilmu dan keterampilan yang Tafaqquh Fiddin dengan beberapa program keterampilan life skill. Salah satu keterampilan life skill yang bisa dilakukan yaitu inovasi pengolahan sampah organik sebagai media budidaya Maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF). Hal tersebut dimulai dari identifikasi masalah bersama dengan para santri, diskusi dan pemberian solusi serta pelatihan budidaya maggot dengan secara interaktif dengan melibatkan teori dan praktek bersamaan agar lebih mudah difahami. Kegiatan pengabdian secara keseluruhan dapat dikatakan baik dan berhasil, dilihat dari ketercapaian tujuan pelatihan (85%), ketercapaian target materi yang telah direncanakan (100%), dan kemampuan peserta dalam penguasaan materi (75%). Tujuan utama dari kegiatan ini sudah tercapai yaitu pengolahan sampah organik untuk mengurangi jumlah sampah di sekitar lingkungan sebagai pakan larva lalat BSF. Selain itu dapat juga memberikan tambahan pendapatan para santri.
