Abstract

Autism spectrum disorder is a comprehensive developmental disorder that can result in barriers in several aspects of development such as social, communication, and behavioral aspects from mild to severe. The symptoms of autism generally appear before the child reaches the age of 3 years. Currently, the exact cause of autism has not been found yet, but some studies suggest that the cause of autism is a disturbance in the function of the central nervous system caused by abnormalities in brain structure. Disorders experienced by children with autism are disorders in the field of social interaction such as the absence of eye contact with the interlocutor, in the field of communication both verbal and non-verbal. Intensive and optimal early intervention that can be useful for the treatment of autistic children is commonly referred to as therapy.

Abstract

Students with physical disabilities often face various complex and diverse challenges in living their campus life. These challenges are not only limited to academic aspects, but also cover various aspects of daily life, including social interaction, access to campus facilities, and participation in various extracurricular activities. One of the most crucial aspects and often a major obstacle is the issue of mobility. Mobility is a very important basic need, but for students with physical disabilities, moving from one place to another on campus is often a very big challenge. Many buildings and facilities on campus are not designed with accessibility needs for people with disabilities in mind, so they have to struggle harder to be able to move around, attend classes, or simply participate in campus activities. This is where the important role of the Wheelchair with Portable Ramp (WAFEL) comes in, an innovation specifically designed to help overcome this mobility problem. WAFEL offers a very practical and effective solution, allowing students with physical disabilities to move more freely and independently in carrying out daily activities on campus. With WAFEL, students with physical disabilities are not only helped in terms of mobility but also have greater opportunities to participate fully in campus life, which can ultimately improve their quality of life and academic achievement

Abstract

The story of Sultan Agung Tani becomes a means of resolving cultural conflicts in Java between inland and coastal subcultures. In Java, the legacy of cultural conflict has never been completely resolved until now due to the impact of the legacy of colonialism that has persisted since the arrival of the VOC in the 17th century. This story was chosen because it depicts the conflict and resolution between two Javanese subethnic groups who have significant differences in culture, values and geographical background. The hermeneutic reading method with a postcolonial approach is used to analyze the story of Sultan Agung Tani which is recorded in audio and video format. The results of this research show that the pattern of conflict resolution between Javanese sub-ethnic groups through stories of Ketoprak performances is able to influence people's cultural mindset. Ketoprak stories that narrate the resolution of Javanese inter-subethnic conflicts, which are staged by Ketoprak groups in coastal areas, especially Pati Regency in Central Java and its surroundings, have a positive social impact on coastal communities who are depicted as inferior by narrative text stories from the interior in babad stories. Through the stories presented, the potential to provide a cultural model of conflict resolution contributes to a conflict resolution formula with dramatic steps provided to become a dish that is enjoyed. This research provides in-depth insight into how the traditional performing art of Ketoprak can act as an important tool in mediating conflict and promoting inter-subethnic reconciliation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Reading is an important aspect of learning a language. One of the basic aspects of reading is the large vocabulary. Students' vocabulary acquisition can be obtained from the learning process. However, in the vocabulary learning process, problems are still caused by the limitations of the media used. The limited media used causes students' interest in learning to decrease. Responding to these problems, this research aims to develop mobile learning which can be used as an aid for learning the vocabulary of object names from gamelan musical instruments. In developing mobile learning, the research method used is research and development (R&D). The research subjects in this study are teachers, media experts, and material experts. Data collection techniques used interview techniques and questionnaire techniques. Sigamel mobile learning was developed based on analysis of problems, needs, and revisions based on expert validation results. The design validation results obtained a score of 4 from material experts in the good category while the score obtained from media experts was 4.7 in the very good category. The development of Sigamel mobile learning is worthy of being developed in Javanese language learning. The results of this research state explicitly that sigamel mobile learning can be developed into a tool for learning Javanese which focuses on noun vocabulary material. Therefore, teachers are advised to use sigamel mobile learning in learning.

Abstract

Online learning has been running in Indonesian universities due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Online learning has become a challenge to both parties, lecturers, and students with special needs. The use of several online platforms for learning has not provided accessibility for students who are blind and deaf. To pursue friendly learning in inclusive classrooms for blind and deaf students, then we need a facility that supports learning for blind and deaf students. The purpose of the study is to develop a learning model that can be used for online learning using an interactive website. The interactive Web-Based Learning Model is an innovative learning model which is designed for special needs students to access online learning more effectively. The procedure used in this interactive web-based learning model is that every blind and deaf student can access learning through various devices connected to their cell phone or laptop to make the learning process two-way and effective. The research was conducted using the research & development method which consists of the stages of producing a model product and then validating and testing the model. The result of this study is an online learning model using a website that can present learning material from lecturers in the form of pages that all the menus can be read directly by blind students through a screen reader on their devices (user friendly) and they can send assignments via voice note options. The website is equipped with videos accompanied by subtitles so that it has accessibility to deaf students. This model consists of the following stages: 1) Planning which includes needs analysis and content analysis, 2) The learning process through an interactive website containing structured learning material, interactive learning through video and discussion features, 3) Evaluation includes test and non-test in the form of process and result in analysis.
