Learning allows all students to be able to access education, including students with special needs. In the current pandemic, all learning activities are converted into online. However, students with special needs, especially blind and deaf students, have difficulty adapting and accessing learning using e-learning. It causes difficulties in understanding the contents of the material, and applications used cannot fully accommodate the needs of blind and deaf children. It has an impact on decreasing learning outcomes. The method used in this study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with an exploratory mixed-method research design. The subjects of this study were blind students (7 people) and deaf students (3 people) special education department in Uninus. The results showed that the Interactive Web-Based Learning (IWL) learning model had a good effect on the learning outcomes of blind and deaf students, especially in the physiology analysis subject for children with special needs and the growth and development of children with special needs. With the Interactive Web-Based Learning (IWL) learning model, it is hoped that blind and deaf students can explore more in online-based learning.

Abstract

The present study reports the first comprehensive study on the freshwater macroinvertebrates and its habitat preferences in Bilah River, the largest riverin the Northern Sumatra. The riverside is characterized by the presence of anthropogenic and industrial activities which may alter the macroinvertebrate assemblage and biodiversity. Five months of investigation on 10 sampling stations from December 2016 to October 2017 was conducted based on the river flow in Bilah River. Principal component analysis indicated a decrease in trophic status from upstream to downstream of the river. A total of 27 taxa were recorded, with the most abundant group The developmental task of a child is something that appears at a certain period in the life span, if one phase fails it will cause various difficulties in completing the next phase of development. This is experienced by students with special needs (PDBK). Currently, the reality of teachers in the field is that they do not understand how to identify and assess these developmental phases for GDPK, which is a prerequisite for supporting success in the academic field. In particular, this study describes and analyzes (1) plan, (2) Do, (3) Check and (4) action on developmental assessment using Sallis Edward's quality theory and Huvinggurst's developmental theory. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Collecting data by conducting observations, interviews, and study of documentation and validation of research results by conducting FGD (forum group discussion). The results of the study indicate that the management of developmental assessments at the inclusive schools of Ibnu Sina and Mutiara Bunda has been carried out by adjusting the existing concept rules, although in its implementation there are still obstacles, especially in terms of parental commitment and teacher understanding in GDPK confectionery.

Abstract

Oil palm plantations are long-lived plants and require special management with special land. HR competencies need to be continuously improved, given the lengthy business processes that require large funds and the increasingly fierce competition in the oil palm plantation business. Education and training are important entities in managing the learning and growth process for employees in order to improve competence and achieve company goals and win the competition. A good management of the education and training system will result in an effective training process to improve the competence of human resources, which will enable oil palm plantation companies to find productive jobs. This study aims to describe and analyze the development of management training systems in improving the competence of human resources at PT Sahabat Mewah dan Makmur, PT Kayung Agro Lestari, and PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Agri Siais. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach, collected through 1) observation, 2) interviews, 3) documentation studies. The results showed that the hypothetical model of the training and education management system in improving the competence of human resources is influenced by the administrative management process, the influence of strategic decision makers, and either instructors or mentors appointed for the training process. The recommendation from this research is that special efforts are needed to build the quality of educators in the education and training system because the quality factor of educators, both instructors and mentors, has a big influence. It is also necessary to pay attention to the unavoidable natural and environmental aspects, and to make adjustments to the education and training process based on the natural situation and the environment in which the plantation is located. In addition, it is necessary to build communication with various parties outside the education and training to meet the needs of many parties whose decisions directly affect the implementation of education and training.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the implementation of Principal’s Total Quality Management (TQM) in Improving Teacher Professional Competence in Private Elementary Schools. This qualitative research uses a case study method through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques at Elementary School’s Lab school of UPI Cibiru, Bandung Regency and Elementary School’s Lab of Al Azhar Syifa Budi Parahyangan, West Bandung Regency. The conclusion of the research is that the implementation of the Principal's Total Quality Management (TQM) in improving the professional competence of teachers in both schools has been going well, on the contrary they have not implemented the TQM principles optimally. This is illustrated by the lack of integration of socialization activities at the planning stage and the lack of effective communication relationships with parents and other institutions. Thus, it is necessary to carry out further studies related to improving the professional competence of teachers in elementary schools to map the condition of teachers in the future.

The aims and objectives of this research are to answer three research questions: 1). to analyze the influence of leadership style on teacher performance; 2). Analyzing the influence of Organizational Climate on Teacher performance, and 3). analyze the influence of Leadership Style and organizational climate together on Teacher performance. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive analysis, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression, using simultaneous significance experiments (F-test) and partial experiments (t-test), and the coefficient of certainty (R2), and using the SPSS type application program 21.0 version. The illustrations used in this research were obtained through the Non-Probability Sampling method of collecting images, namely sampling with 100 teachers. After testing the information, it is known that the Leadership Style (X1) has a positive effect on Teacher Ability (Y), with a Regression Coefficient of +0.481; significance level of 0.000 < 0.05; as a result (t-count) 5.284 > 1.985 (t-table), with a regression obtained Y = 90.005 + 0.481 X1 + e. After that, it was known that Organization Climate (X2) had a positive effect on Teacher Ability (Y), with a Regression Coefficient of +0.662; degrees of significance 0.000 < 0.05, as a result (t-count) 7.499 > 1.985 (t-table), with a regression obtained Y = 71.101 + 0.662 X1 + e. Finally, the Elastic Leadership Style (X1) and the Elastic Group Eve (X2) jointly have a positive effect on Teacher Ability (Y), with an F number of 31,614 and a chart F-number of 3,09. As a result, the F number is more significant than the F chart (31.614 > 3.09), with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05.
